Lenovo is hitting a new PC market in a small way.

On Tuesday, the popular PC vendor announced its latest creation -- a PC on a stick. Starting at $130, the new Ideacentre Stick 300 is designed to deliver the performance of a Windows PC but in a bite-sized portion. The mini-PC is only 3.94 inches wide, 1.5 inches deep and .59 inches high, so it's not much larger than your average USB stick.

Why a PC on a stick? Portability is the main draw. You can carry the Ideacentre Stick 300 with you on the go and plug it into any TV or PC monitor with an HDMI port to run its onboard applications and access your files. Beyond that, the idea is to offer consumers a device with enough computing power to let you play games, surf the Web and chat with friends via video without having to purchase a pricey tablet or laptop.

This is also a new market for Lenovo, which is already No. 1 in the worldwide PC market and No. 3 in the smartphone market. The mini PC represents a new challenge in which the company will compete with other PC-on-a-stick makers, such as Intel and Microsoft.

Powered by an Intel Atom processor, the Ideacentre Stick 300 carries up to 2 gigabytes of memory and up to 32GB of onboard storage. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 are also included for wireless connectivity. One HDMI port, one MicroUSB 2.0 port and one SD card reader come along for the ride, along with a small speaker.

The stick comes with Windows 8.1, but will be eligible to upgrade to Windows 10 when Microsoft releases its new operating system on July 29. A three-month trial of Microsoft Office is also part of the package. The only items you'll need to add to use the stick are a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Samsung wants to make big trucks and vans transparent, or to be more accurate, allow other drivers to see through them. The tech giant is currently experimenting with a so-called “Safety Truck,” and is working to obtain regulatory approval for the deployment.

How does it work? In case you were hoping for a cloak of invisibility, guess again. There's no magic trick involved here, but rather cameras mounted in front of the truck and four large TV monitors fitted to the back doors. This way, drivers behind the truck can see exactly what they otherwise couldn't, and can react quickly in the event of an emergency braking situation ahead. Passing manoeuvres also become safer.

Samsung's clever new system may not be economically viable, however. While mounting front cameras is relatively cheap, those rear-mounted TV screens would prove a lot more expensive. And since truck fleet companies wouldn't make money off of this technology, they aren't likely to invest massively in it.

Speed: I have never had speed issues with this phone it's crazy. The quick touch response and the quad core allow make it feel very responsive. In comparison I had an S4 prior and despite it being old and used I still felt it was horribly not up to par loading apps and responding to my taps. 10/10

RAM: This phone has an astounding 4 gigs of DDR3 which was honestly one of my biggest reasons for buying it. However I will note that ASUS kinda screwed the pooch by letting their software suck about a gig of it up with no way to turn it off. So I would say it has 3 practical gigs. Not 4. 6.5/10
Software: I'll go ahead and follow up RAM with this. The phone comes built in with a beautiful UI with themes to pick from. I went ahead and changed my home app to Themer but that is a personal preference. It does come with a lot of bloatware unfortunately. Furthermore a lot of it is uninstallable and the disable is disabled. I will admit however it comes with a lot of useful software I can see myself using and have used. I remember loving the universal remote on my S4, but I was blown away when I found I could use my phone as a keyboard and mouse for my computer right out the box. I would certainly look into the preloaded software to sway you towards buying the phone. 8/10

Notifications: This phone requires a dedicated area for reviewing notifications and I'll go ahead and throw the pull down menu in here too. I'll keep it concise. Good volume on the speakers and very clear so ring tones sound nice. The vibrate is weaker than I would like but still works well. It does not (as far as I know) have the thing where the flashlight flashes but they is obnoxious in my opinion. You can easily set notification priorities in the volume menu and filters to only hear certain messages when your phone is silent. It had the LED thing too. Now the drop down menu is amazing. You can fit tons of buttons including a built in one for CCleaner and also toggle your cellular data which like an asshole AT&T removed update by update from their users phones to get them to use up their data. 9/10

Screen: It's the newest Gorilla glass and does not scratch. It may be in my head but it seems to smudge and glare easier than my S4 but is much more clear when clean. It's full HD and looks amazingly clear. As far as I know it is not AMOLED but don't take my word on that. Also a HUGE bonus is it usually gets only 30% of my battery usage with medium brightness which makes up for smudging. It is also very easy to see outside even on a low brightness setting. I'll go ahead and give it a 9/10

Battery: Not much to say but good things. A lot longer life than my S4. Not removable (easily at least) which sucks a bit. Charges in an hour which is just... Damn. 8/10

Camera: when the back facing camera is better than the front you know there is a problem. Megapixels don't mean shit and it's very irritating people keep using that to guage cameras. Super grainy photos but not bad otherwise. Has two flash emitters to balance colors. Camera app is nice but need a bug patch which I think came out today. 5/10

Internet speed: Internet speed? What Internet speed? It must be going so fast I can't even see it. Despite what the specs say this gets 4G LTE and I have not seen a faster phone. WiFi is also blazing. 10/10

Other: very pretty phone. Got the cherry red and love it. Put in a micro SD and it works fine. A lot of good cases for it. Mine is a VENA leather wallet case which ran me $20 and is one of the best purchases I have made. Button placement is unorthodox but I like it except for the below the screen buttons which I keep hitting accidentally but I have big hands so what are yah gonna do. Call speaker is good quality. 7/10

Nokia, once the world's biggest maker of mobile phones, plans to start designing and licensing handsets again once an agreement with partner Microsoft allows it to in 2016, its chief executive told Germany's Manager Magazin.

"We will look for suitable partners," Rajeev Suri said in an interview published on Thursday. "Microsoft makes mobile phones. We would simply design them and then make the brand name available to license."

A new report from Reuters has it that struggling Canadian smartphone maker, BlackBerry Limited, might be planning on launching a new BB handset running Android operating system.The upcoming BlackBerry Android handset may use some patented features in its BB 10 OS. Reuter said it got the scoop from four sources who wished to remain anonymous because the plan has not been made public.

A slider handset with physical qwerty keyboard, rectangular screen etc. that was unveiled by BlackBerry at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, March is rumoured to come equipped with Google's Android OS.

If the report is anything to go by, the upcoming BlackBerry slider smartphone, expected to be released this autumn, would be the first full-fledged Android-powered handset from the Ontario-based firm. Previous BlackBerry smart phones like the Z10 and Passport only run Android apps.

The decision to put Android operating system in its next handset would allow the company pay more attention to its software and device management system(BES120), used largely by corporate organizations and governmental agencies.

As with all rumours and speculation , neither BlackBerry nor Google commented on the matter when contacted by Reuters. Although the former made it clear that it is still committed to its BlackBerry 10 operating system.

We all know that Google is developing technology for self-driving cars. We all know that Google self-driving cars will hit public roads in California along with their safety drivers on board this summer. We are aware they had been involved in 12 accidents since Google started testing them on public roads over the past six years. But there are 10 things you may not know about Google autonomous cars. Google self-driving cars have no steering wheel or gas pedal to control the direction the car goes. Google's software known as ''Google chauffeur'' and computers carry out those tasks instead, and can be controlled at the touch of a button.

Google autonomous cars have now driven 1 million miles on public roads without a human driver taking over control, which is equivalent of 75 years of driving by a typical American. Superb right?

Google's driverless cars have about $150,000 in equipment and the Lidar system mounted on top of the vehicle that takes a detailed 3D map of its surrounding cost as much as $70,000.

Google robotic vehicles have never rear-ended any other manually driven car while on test-drive. All of the incidents that Google reported were the cause of human drivers running into them. Human drivers are horrible.

There are 100 or more of Google fully functioning prototype self-driving vehicles built from the ground up.

Google self-driiving car are overly cautions like your grandma while in public roads. They are never the first off the line at a stop, they don't speed and accelerate quickly and very polite .

Google self-driving prototype cars are battery-powered electric vehicles. In other words they get their electricity from batteries, as opposed to traditional car that use premium motor spirit or gasoline.

Google driverless cars can not travel in heavy rain or snow and their software not accurate enough to recognise small animals like squirrels, badger etc and might run them over.

Google cars are designed to look like humans so that you do not harm them. That's because by conventional wisdom humans give great care to things that resembles them. Would you destroy objects that look like you?

Yes! we now know what BlackBerry upcoming Oslo smartphone looks likes. Some guys over at N4BB have leaked photos of BlackBerry newest smartphone and successor to the Passport, the BlackBerry Oslo. The smartphone has the same specs and feature as its older brother.

As you can see from the photos, the BlackBerry Oslo looks a lot like the iconic BlackBerry Passport, with the same three rows of keys and and a 1440 X 1440 square display. The yet-to-be release Passport twin reportedly packs a magnificent 13-MP rear camera, 3GB of RAM, a 3450 mAh battery,powers by a Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on BlackBerry 10.3.2 operating system. It has a metal frame and the back of the Oslo is covered with textured rubber.

iOS 8 is currently running on 85% of apple mobile devices....l don't think apple is to blame for this.

After months of rumours, speculations etc. Apple Inc formally announces iOS 9, its newest mobile operating system and sucesssor to iOS 8. As any Apple fanboi would expect, iOS 9 will provid the gamut of mobile services to your iPad, iPod and iPad. For instance, Siri now has a feature that mimics Google Now and the long-rumoured split finally arrived in iOS 9. The new Apple iOS 9 released date is slated for July. Although developers can have a feel of it as from today. However let us take a look at some of the interesting features Apple stole from Android for its new OS. Shall we?
Siri got a makeover by Android

Like I said earlier, Apple borrowed a lot of features from Google's Android. There is a new feature in Siri known as ''Proactive Assistant'' that works very similar to Google Now virtual assistant. For instance, just like Google Now, Siri can make recommendations or perform certain tasks without you raising your finger. You could tell Siri to remind you about something while reading an email. Or it could search your contact and suggest you to call them based on upcoming meetings.

Proactive Assistant will also automatically add invitations and events to your calendar, which is a nice addition. You’ll also get Google Now-like features such as notifications that you need to leave to arrive at a meeting on time, based on traffic conditions. Unlike Google Now, however, all of the data analysis needed to facilitate these features happens on the device — no data is stored on Apple servers and nothing is shared with third parties.


News for iOS 9

A personalized news app will be introduced with iOS 9, with a Flipboard-style layout, customized layout and recommendations, and it will be interactive, too, with photos and videos built into the text layout. The kicker is that Apple has struck deals with publishers like NYT or Rolling Stones, but also local stations, blogs and so on, to deliver some free content every day to News users.


iOS 9 also introduces new power-user features designed specifically for the iPad. The on-screen keyboard includes shortcuts for cut, copy, paste, and more, as well as a new mode that turns the keyboard into a trackpad. Perhaps the biggest change to the way iOS works is in the new multitasking mode for the iPad. iOS 9 now lets you run two apps side-by-side at the same time, a feature that's been a hallmark in Microsoft's Surface tablets and Samsung's Galaxy tablets for a long time. A redesigned task switcher lets you swipe apps in to the same screen, much like Windows 8, and both apps remain fully active on the screen at the same time. Apps can be split 50-50 or 70-30 on the screen, and the iPad's existing multi-finger touch gestures work in either side. Videos can be watched in a picture-in-picture viewer that can be moved around the screen. Apple says that the split-screen mode will only be available on the iPad Air 2 (and presumably new iPads announced later this year), while picture in picture and the ability to swipe in apps from the side will come to older iPads.

How does going from 4.6 GB to just 1.9 GB free storage space needed sound to you for iOS 9? Not bad at all, especially for folks with 16 GB iPhone versions.

Low Power Mode
Finally! This new feature will extend battery life by up to three hours when enabled. It’s similar to offerings from Samsung and HTC, but not quite as extreme. It does limit some functionality, but all core features are still acceptable.

Four states in the U.S allow the testing of autonomous cars on public roads: Nevada Florida,California, Michigan and Washington DC. Virgina is the new entrant to that list. It has allowed the testing of driverless cars on 70 miles of congested highways in the northern part of the state. The highways in that region are now dubbed the ''Virgina Automated Corridors.''

The new project will be supervise by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute and will also be responsible for insuring cars that passed the test, as well as provide license plates.

According to reports, before any of the self-driving vehicles can cruise on Virgina highways, they will have to hit the tracks of the VTTI smart road in Montgomery County and the Virgina International Railway in Halifax County, in order to certify that they are safe. Also, as with trialling self-driving cars on roads, a human driver will be at the wheel at all times for safety reasons. Google, General Motors are reportedly two of several companies interested to test their robotic vehicles in Virginia highways. Those living in the state could start to automated cars later this year.

From an avid Reader

I just want to share some observations. Also, I don't
work for Google or any other autonomous vehicle
company - I just happen to live in Mountain View, CA and
I've shared the road with SD cars for the past year or so.
I see no less than 5 self-driving cars every day. 99% of
the time they're the Google Lexuses, but I've also seen a
few other unidentified ones (and one that said BOSCH on
the side). I have never seen one of the new "Google-
bugs" on the road, although I've heard they're coming
soon. I also don't have a good way to tell if the cars
were under human control or autonomous control
during the stories I'm going to relate.

Anyway, here we go: Other drivers don't even blink when
they see one. Neither do pedestrians - there's no "fear"
from the general public about crashing or getting run
over, at least not as far as I can tell.

Google cars drive like your grandma - they're never the
first off the line at a stop light, they don't accelerate
quickly, they don't speed, and they never take any
chances with lane changes (cut people off, etc.).
Google cars seem to be a little overly-cautious at
intersections where visibility is limited: Think a T-
intersection where a big truck or a bush blocks visibility
for the road that needs to turn either left or right. The
Google car I saw inched forward very slowly with a lot of
pauses, as if it was stopping to get its bearings even
though it obviously hadn't pulled forward enough to
"see" anything. It appeared very safe, but if I had been
behind it I probably would have been annoyed at how
long it took to actually commit to pull out and turn.
Google cars are very polite to pedestrians. They leave
plenty of space.

A Google car would never do that rude
thing where a driver inches impatiently into a crosswalk
while people are crossing because he/she wants to make
a right turn. However, this can also lead to some
annoyance to drivers behind, as the Google car seems to
wait for the pedestrian to be completely clear.

On one occasion, I saw a pedestrian cross into a row of human-
thickness trees and this seemed to throw the car for a
loop for a few seconds. The person was a good 10 feet
out of the crosswalk before the car made the turn.
It's safe to cut off a Google car. I ride a motorcycle to
work and in California motorcycles are allowed to split
lanes (i.e., drive in the gap between lanes of cars at a
stoplight, slow traffic, etc.). Obviously I do this at every
opportunity because it cuts my commute time in 1/3.

Once, I got a little caught out as the traffic transitioned
from slow moving back to normal speed. I was in a lane
between a Google car and some random truck and,
partially out of experiment and partially out of
impatience, I gunned it and cut off the Google car sort
of harder than maybe I needed too... The car handled it
perfectly (maybe too perfectly). It slowed down and let
me in. However, it left a fairly significant gap between
me and it. If I had been behind it, I probably would have
found this gap excessive and the lengthy slowdown
annoying. Honestly, I don't think it will take long for
other drivers to realize that self-driving cars are "easy
targets" in traffic.

Overall, I would say that I'm impressed with how these
things operate. I actually do feel safer around a self-
driving car than most other California drivers.
I think that, inevitably, non-self driving cars will
eventually be banned from the roads to let SD cars
operate at their full potential (which personally I'm not
thrilled about as I'm a car-nut and I love to drive).
Perhaps an aftermarket transmitter could be included in
non-SD cars*? Something to warn SD cars of your
location so they can anticipate you cutting them off or
you having the right of way through an intersection with
limited visibility.

The takeaway? I give SD cars 5 stars. Would buy. *You
read it here first folks! Someday 5 years from now when
you're mandated to buy one of these for your 2015
Camry you'll know where the idea came from.

Google lifted the veil on Android M at its I/O developer conference today, an event that's traditionally served as the company's launchpad for its mobile OS updates. No, we don't yet know what the "M" stands for (we'd love to see Android Marzipan), but, as usual, that's not stopping Google from divulging details. After the bold redesign that was Android Lollipop, M is more focused on refining the entire Android experience. "For [Android] M, we've gone back to the basics," said Google SVP Sundar Pichai. "We've really focused on polish and quality; we've literally solved thousands of bugs." While there's still no firm release date for Android M, developers can give it a spin today with a special preview release for the Nexus 5, 6, 9 and Player set-top box.

Better permissions

Those improvements start with more granular app permissions, breaking them down into categories like location, camera and contacts. And rather than dealing with permissions before you install an app, you'll be prompted as the apps require specific features (yes, a lot like iOS). David Burke, VP of engineering at Google, showed off the new permissions onstage by having WhatsApp request microphone access. The new permissions should make it a lot clearer what exactly apps are doing on your phone -- they're certainly a lot more informative than the dump of security information we've seen on Android up until now.

Android M will also let developers improve the web experience inside of their apps by using Chrome Custom Tabs. Pinterest, for example, now pops up speedy little web windows whenever you tap on a link. Basically, developers will be able to make their in-app web experiences feel just like the apps themselves. Google's also making deep linking between apps a core feature of Android M, which allows apps to point to specific screens in other apps. (Think of it like being linked to a specific web page, rather than just a home page.)

Android Pay

Naturally, Android Pay, Google's revamped mobile payments offering announced earlier this year, will also play a big role in Android M. It'll let you buy things at NFC-equipped retailers with your phone, and it should be even more secure than traditional credit cards since it creates virtual card numbers for every purchase. Google says more than 700,000 locations will support Android Pay, and it'll also work with Visa, MasterCard, AmEx and Discover cards. As for carriers, it'll be supported on AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.

Google's also standardizing fingerprint authentication with Android M. It'll support Android Pay transactions, both in stores and in apps, and of course it supports unlocking your phone with your fingerprint.

Battery

Android M sports a new feature called "Doze," which uses your phone's sensors to tell when it's not being used and conserve power. Google says Doze doubled the battery life of Nexus 9s that it tested -- it'll be interesting to see how it'll impact phones, which get moved around much more than tablets. Not surprisingly, Android M will also support USB Type-C cables, which should allow for faster charging. Since they're bidirectional, you'll also be able to charge other devices from your phone over USB Type-C.

The takeaway

Overall, there aren't many surprises with Android M. Google's focus on polish makes plenty of sense now, although it's hard not to notice that it's playing catch-up with Apple with Android Pay, app permissions and fingerprint authentication. That's not necessarily a knock against Google -- Apple's also lifted plenty of concepts from Android -- but it shows how much further ahead Apple is in new technologies like mobile payments and biometric security. Google's likely not done yet, though -- I wouldn't be surprised if we see plenty more new Android M features announced over the next few months.

These LED panels were developed by Paolo di Trapani and his colleagues at the University of Insubria inComo, Italy. The technology relies on the white LED panels placed inside a clear plastic panel studded with Titanium dioxide nanoparticles. The LEDs shine through the clear plastic panel studded with nanoparticles that scatter light in the same way as Earth's atmosphere does with sunlight. Different panels can simulate various outdoor light conditions – from a bright sunny day to a gorgeous sunset or even the brooding skies of a storm -

By peppering a clear polymer with titanium dioxide nanoparticles, the team managed to mimic the physics of Rayleigh scattering, the process by which air molecules scatter the sun's radiation. Two different sizes of nanoparticles, clustered in different sections of the plastic, separate white light into diffuse "sky light", in which blue wavelengths are dominant, and a bright spot of warm, yellowish light just like direct sunlight.

Google's prototype two-seater 'bubble' cars have buttons to begin and end the drive, but no other controls.
An on-board computer uses data from sensors, including radar, a laser and cameras, to make turns and negotiate its way around pedestrians and other vehicles.
Under the vision unveiled by Google, passengers might set their destination by typing it into a map or using commands.
The cars are also expected to be electric, capable of going 100 miles (160km) before needing to be recharging.
The front of the vehicle has a soft foam-like material where a traditional bumper would be and a more flexible windscreen, in an attempt to be safer for pedestrians.

We’ve all heard of flatscreen TVs. But how about one that’s less than 1mm thick and can be peeled off the wall like a sheet of paper?

The invention by South Korean firm LG is perhaps the biggest leap in television design since the days when the family telly was a big wooden box in the living room corner.

Dubbed the Wallpaper TV, the 55in prototype weighs 1.9kg, sits on a magnetic mat attached to the wall and can be removed by simply peeling it off. It was made possible by the development of ‘organic light-emitting-diode’ screens, which are super-slim and flexible. These OLED panels are made from organic materials that give off light when an electric current is applied to them. The panels are less than a millimeter thick.

LG has also unveiled a roll-up OLED TV that is transparent when not in use. The Ultra HD screen uses a special film backing instead of plastic to allow it to be rolled into a tube for carrying around.

However, questions remains about how the circuitry and power supply these TVs need to function will be packaged.

The first thing to note after removing the phone from the box is to check the back of the Galaxy S6. There is a major difference in the original Samsung Galaxy S6 and the fake variant’s screens. A fake S6 would have a screen which a pixelated display. If someone can identify individual pixels on their S6 clearly, their S6 is a fake. A fake would also have a bland display with dark gray blacks. Another thing to notice is the area surrounding the display. A fake S6 will have thick black bars surrounding the screen from all sides.

Another way to spot a fake S6 is the camera. The original S6 has a massive 16-MP rear camera that captures brilliantly clear photos even in low-light conditions, but fake doesn't. Or to make things easier, just dial *#06# to get the S6 IMEI number. A 15 digit number( for example 358829058018532) will show up that you can enter at IMEI.info or http://imeidata.net to confirm that it is the original S6 before you buy.

Chevrolet has revealed the sixth-generation 2016 Camaro, and it appears to have the tools it needs to continue the good fight against its longtime rival, the Ford Mustang.

Slightly smaller in all dimensions, the all-new Camaro looks light a fitter, trimmer version of the car it replaces, retaining its signature style but with additional character lines and more of a fastback profile. It’s also at least 200 pounds lighter than the outgoing car, depending on the model, and there are three to choose from.

The entry-level engine is now a 270 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, the first of its kind in a Camaro. Chevy says it’ll be good for over 30 mpg and a zero-to-60 mph sprint of less than six seconds. Midrange cars get a 330 hp 3.6-liter V6, while the high performance Camaro SS is fitted with a version of the 6.2-liter V8 that debuted in the Corvette Stingray. The Camaro’s will have at least 440 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. All three engines will be available with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.

The V6 and V8 will be offered with exhausts that can bypass the mufflers during acceleration to turn up the volume, while the turbo gets an electronic system to enhance the sound in the cabin that, unlike most cars with similar technology, can be deactivated.

That cabin is seriously upgraded from the fifth-generation car's, which was often its most criticized attribute. It updates the familiar styling theme with more detail, higher-quality materials throughout, an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system, and LED accent lighting with 24 colors and a “car show” mode that can cycle through them when its parked.

When it’s not, the Camaro SS will deliver performance better than today’s track-focused 1LE, according to Chevy, and it can be ordered with GM’s computer-controlled Magnetic Ride Control suspension.

Pricing has not yet been announced, but Chevy says it should say in line with the current car. The 2016 Camaro is expected to showrooms and the street late this year.
