The soft drink company first foray into the handset business will be built by an unnamed phone manufacturer.Pepsi is still coy about revealing details of its smartphones but some insiders are spilling the beans already.

Specs
According to Mobi picker, which first broke the news of the Pepsi phone, the upcoming handset will be named P1 and will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p display(1920 x 1080), a 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage(we do not know whether you can expand it with a microSD card for now),MediaTek MT6792 chipset with a processor speed of 1.7GHz(gigahertz).

Furthermore, the P1 handset will arrive with a 13MP rear camera for capturing stunning pictures and 5MP front-facing camera for all your selfie magic. It will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and will get power from a 3,000 mAh battery.

Pricing

While we still have to wait until October 20 to get all the information about the P1 smartphone directly from Pepsi Co, price of the P1 has been revealed by several media houses in China. The P1 will cost CNY 1,299 or $205 or N41,000.

The new iPhone6s and iPhone6s Plus just smashed last year's record set by the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets, that's according to their maker Apple Inc. The company revealed earlier today through its Chief Executive Officer Timothy Cook that it sold a whooping 13 million new iPhone® 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models in just three days of launch in the United States and other nations on September 25. Thus beating analysts expectations of 12 million.

In the same period last year, Apple revealed that it sold more than 10 million iPhone6 and iPhone 6 handsets and said it was their best opening weekend sales ever. This new feat just shatters any previous first weekend sales results in the Cupertino-based company's history. The Company CEO shared the milestone report in a statement today.

This story dates back to the year of 1995. I was 5 years old. My Dad had taken an early retirement from Indian air force due to some reasons and were forced to live in the village. There was no electricity and only one school that too in a bad condition. We were a family of five and the only source of income was his pension, which was even less than what a Levi's jeans would cost now. Clearly life was a struggle but we were quite happy with what we had. It was a joint family and Dad’s brothers were also living in the same house. They were doing business and were quite prosperous. They never shared a thing except for my grandmother’s medicine or other requirements. So, essentially we were on our own.


I had just started going to my village school while my cousin’s were in some boarding school. It was an evening of March 18th ,1995 which happened to be my birthday also. I was jumping all evening with the plastic ball and bat I had got as my birthday present. Due to all this I was very tired but I had to sit with my father to complete my homework. I was sleepy and in no mood to study in that dim lantern light. My Father got impatient and scolded me. I could see the disappointment on his face.

Next to the room where I was studying (or feeling drowsy whatever !!) my cousins (they were on vacation) were also there with my uncle. Uncle heard my father scolding me and in his usual sarcastic tone he said :”padha to aise rha hai jaise engineer hi ban jayega !! ” (You are teaching as if he is gonna become an engineer.) . My father didn’t reply anything but from his expression I could understand he was sad.

Then I asked him “Papa, engineer kya hota hai ?” (Papa, “what” is engineer ?). He simply said “Engineer baut bada aadmi hota hai !!” (Engineer is kind of some big successful guy.) After that I immediately got up, went to the window and said “Uncle, aap dekhna main engineer hi banunga !!” (Uncle, you see one day, I’ll be an engineer). They all started laughing and making fun. I came back with a long face. My dad hugged me and said “Yes, my son you’ll be an engineer” and tears rolled of his eyes. That was a turning point and this incident made a place deep inside my sub conscious.

Fast forward, my dad got a job in Indian railways and we moved out of the village. Conditions improved, life changed but my goal remained the same. Going through all ups and downs of life and defying all odds this is me in 2012, with a first class distinction in Mechanical engineering and the award. Giving an interview to some media person for the project we did.

I didn't forget to send this picture to my uncle. I didn't finish here. I moved abroad and did MS from one of the world's best school of mechanical engineering with scholarship. Game is still on for someone else but first revenge has been served. Peace for now

To some 'billions' of people around the world, this man's the only homosapien to have walked on the surface of water since the creation of the world. The only known species that share this supernatural characteristic with that man are water striders--those tiny bugs you see at the river that walk and jump off water using their very thin legs. However, it appears robots would be able to walk on water just like Water-striders.

Scientists and researchers from Seoul National University,Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University and Harvard University John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences joined hands and has built a robotic insect that walks on and leap from water just the same way as Water-striders. The team's research gives us a better understanding of how this insect is able to perform such an ''unearthly'' act.

"Water's surface needs to be pressed at the right speed for an adequate amount of time, up to a certain depth, in order to achieve jumping," said the study's co–senior author Kyu Jin Cho, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Director of the Biorobotics Laboratory at Seoul National University. "The water strider is capable of doing all these things flawlessly."

The water strider, whose legs have slightly curved tips, employs a rotational leg movement to aid it its takeoff from the water’s surface, discovered co–senior author Ho–Young Kim who is Professor in SNU's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Director of SNU's Micro Fluid Mechanics Lab. Kim, a former Wyss Institute Visiting Scholar, worked with the study’s co–first author Eunjin Yang, a graduate researcher at SNU's Micro Fluid Mechanics lab, to collect water striders and take extensive videos of their movements to analyze the mechanics that enable the insects to skim on and jump off water's surface.

It took the team several trial and error attempts to fully understand the mechanics of the water strider, using robotic prototypes to test and shape their hypotheses.

"If you apply as much force as quickly as possible on water, the limbs will break through the surface and you won’t get anywhere," said Robert Wood, Ph.D., who is a co–author on the study, a Wyss Institute Core Faculty member, the Charles River Professor of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the Harvard Paulson School, and founder of the Harvard Microrobotics Lab.

But by studying water striders in comparison to iterative prototypes of their robotic insect, the SNU and Harvard team discovered that the best way to jump off of water is to maintain leg contact on the water for as long as possible during the jump motion.

"Using its legs to push down on water, the natural water strider exerts the maximum amount of force just below the threshold that would break the water’s surface," said the study's co-first author Je-Sung Koh, Ph.D., who was pursuing his doctoral degree at SNU during the majority of this research and is now a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Wyss Institute and the Harvard Paulson School.

Mimicking these mechanics, the robotic insect built by the team can exert up to 16 times its own body weight on the water's surface without breaking through, and can do so without complicated controls. Many natural organisms such as the water strider can perform extreme styles of locomotion – such as flying, floating, swimming, or jumping on water – with great ease despite a lack of complex cognitive skills.

"This is due to their natural morphology," said Cho. "It is a form of embodied or physical intelligence, and we can learn from this kind of physical intelligence to build robots that are similarly capable of performing extreme maneuvers without highly–complex controls or artificial intelligence."

The robotic insect was built using a "torque reversal catapult mechanism" inspired by the way a flea jumps, which allows this kind of extreme locomotion without intelligent control. It was first reported by Cho, Wood and Koh in 2013 in the International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems.

For the robotic insect to jump off water, the lightweight catapult mechanism uses a burst of momentum coupled with limited thrust to propel the robot off the water without breaking the water's surface. An automatic triggering mechanism, built from composite materials and actuators, was employed to activate the catapult.

To produce the body of the robotic insect, "pop-up" manufacturing was used to create folded composite structures that self-assemble much like the foldable components that "pop–up" in 3D books. Devised by engineers at the Harvard Paulson School and the Wyss Institute, this ingenious layering and folding process enables the rapid fabrication of microrobots and a broad range of electromechanical devices.

"The resulting robotic insects can achieve the same momentum and height that could be generated during a rapid jump on firm ground – but instead can do so on water – by spreading out the jumping thrust over a longer amount of time and in sustaining prolonged contact with the water's surface," said Wood.

"This international collaboration of biologists and roboticists has not only looked into nature to develop a novel, semi–aquatic bio-inspired robot that performs a new extreme form of robotic locomotion, but has also provided us with new insights on the natural mechanics at play in water striders," said Wyss Institute Founding Director Donald Ingber, M.D., Ph.D.

A Wisconsin man has been banned from the internet. Yes. That is legally possible. After harassing a neighbor by sending “gentlemen callers” to her house through a Craigslist ad without her knowledge. Jason Willis, 31, was arrested and took a plea deal this week, but one of the provisions of the deal is that he cannot use the internet. At all.

And if he goes online at all, in any way, he could end up serving time in prison. Willis put his neighbor’s address on Craiglist as a practical joke, and men by the score popped up at her house, all hours of the day..some wearing… well, not that much in the way of clothes…

The victim, named only as Dawn, contacted cops in Nov. 2012 and they traced the adverts to Willis.

Judge Allan Torhorst said the internet ban was an appropriate punishment, arguing “If you want to drive drunk, you’re not allowed to drive… To me, a public availability of the Internet—to use it the way he did—is unconscionable. Everybody knows it’s wrong. He knew it was wrong. He admitted it.” -

Japanese company Suidobashi Heavy Industry has accepted the challenge from US rival MegaBots Inc. to a giant robot duel, with Suidobashi founder Kogoro Kurata saying: "Yeah, I'll fight. Absolutely." Kurata, who designed and built Suidobashi's 4-ton mech robot, said: "We can't let another country win this. Giant robots are Japanese culture."

Unfortunately, neither Suidobashi nor MegaBots has offered any more details about when or where the duel might take place (MegaBots' original challenge suggested a vague date of a year from now). Kurata's response to MegaBots' challenge also upped the stakes, with the Japanese designer asking if the duel can be fought as a physical melee rather than with the MegaBot Mark II's paintball guns. I've just travelled back from April 2032 to June 2015 to see what was discussed on "Wearobo.com", a site that was huge back in the day in 2015, and this interests me. I'm only here for a day or so (due to my time-travelling device's limits). John Titor may have been a hoax in the 2000s, but in 2032, we can time-travel, due to an invention released in 2027. Wearobo.com, I should add, is now a company that has become super-successful in 2032, pushing other blogging sites into oblivion but not bankruptcy My past self was 19 years old, and drove a Chevrolet Cruze, but I'm now a 36 yr old mom of two, and still have a manual car. Yes, it's a minivan, but I ain't a soccer mom. It's one of those 2015 Honda Odyssey minivans, if you even remember them in 2015. Somehow I manage to get it fixed.

In 2032, they are trying to prohibit manual cars, but a Supreme Court Ruling shot that down on grounds of freedom, based on the Patriot Act and NSA ruling in 2015 as a precedent Manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, General Motors are now producing cars, manual ones at that, but sold at premium-grade prices. People still drive, and car-sharing services are popular, but not as much as they were in the early 2020s, driving has made a comeback and is in fashion.

Self-driving trucks exist, although some manual ones still operate, but not as extensively, however, some operators cling to keeping it on. This is due to both legal and social reasons of the 2020s and 2030s. There are even theme park centered around trucking, in states like VA, TX (well, two actually, in, Houston and Dallas), UT, AZ, NV, MN and CA. Same for manual-driven cars, although replicating an entire town (a la Disneyland which I went to aged 12, with its Main Street) proves to be a logistical challenge.

The Internet is much more influential than before, although social media has gone the way of MySpace and such, people using encrypted email and newer, faster web hosting for their sites. Broadband is faster than it ever was in 2015. In 2032, the biggest issues are freedom of speech, Islamophobia, and terrorism from Africa and the Middle East. Obesity is considered society's biggest problem after freedom of speech. Podcasting becomes the trendy thing, pushing self-driving cars into becoming widely hated and joked about. So much so that people use ride-sharing less, calling it shitty and no longer as good as it once was.


A Supreme Court ruling in 2032 has meant that net neutrality is in full effect, but the law is still in force for things like hate speech and death threats.

Self-driving cars started to become unfashionable around 2026-2029 when comedians turned them into joke fodder, with podcast jokes about them, and terrorists found ways to hack the system to cause mass disruption, with anonymous cryptocurrencies funding their terrorism. Police still have to stop manual-driven cars every once in a while, but can also remotely stop autonomous cars in their semi-autonomous police cruisers, which look like your Dodge Charger of 2015, but leaner and more economical, and, yeah, some are electric Dodge Charger models. So much for calling it Dodge Charger in the 2010s, were they onto something then? You still get car dealers and salesmen, but it becomes more like a cross between a boutique and a sales floor.

Driving suddenly becomes trendy again after a major celebrity talks up how good it is, and was, he brings out his 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, which is by now 18 years old, and it's in damn good condition. People find it cool that he can drive and is control, with one blogger in March 2032 saying "Damn 'bot drivers, we can do it better, sure we have accidents, but it's too creepy now. I drove in 2015, and I'm gonna keep on driving, so Bleep you, The Man". He's 68 years old, by the way; back in 2015 he was a 51-year-old and drove. He's a major celebrity known for being a talking head on many things, sport, showbiz, anything you can care to name.

Back in 2015, I didn't expect or think of this sort of thing, I was on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. In fact, I was in college, and I both needed to and wanted to drive, even though what people called "Milennials" (or as they do now, in your era of 2015) wanted to drive less.

Smartphones are much lighter than they were in 2015. And this is the way things went in 2032, at least, here in Newport, ME. However, the future holds a lot more interesting things to come, for the 2040s. We already have Hitler in a museum alive through AI and holographic projection reciting his speech, bringing the dead back to life. So, this is 2032, and as for 2015, it was a good and bad year in full, with 2016 being a year that people started to question the ethics of technology in their lives.

Back in 2015 I was a bit of a stoner, and a Girl Gone Wild. Man, I hate myself for that. But in 2032 (now) I'm a mom, businesswoman and possible politician-to-be. I've got to get back to April 2032 now otherwise the time stream's gonna change my existence. Publishers using Google AdSense will now see more details about invalid traffic from activities such as accidental clicks on the ads on their sites.

Google announced Monday that, beginning with May’s payment history report, publishers will be able to see details about the discrepancies between estimated and finalized earnings due to invalid traffic.

This type of transparency is a long time coming. Some publishers will undoubtedly wish there was more detail about the types and causes of invalid activity. Google advises publishers that see concerning invalid activity to look at whether the ad placements on their sites could be contributing to the activity or submit an Invalid Clicks Contact form if it is unusually high.
