Mains > Voltage Protector > MCB > Inverter Input Above is the correct order. Reason being it allows you to see whats going on with the mains at all times, even when the MCB is in the OFF state. |

So today is March 31st, 2026. Its different from the same date last year as the new Tax Law comes into effect. So far there's been confusion, back and forth, along with dismal awareness & publicity of how ordinary struggling citizens can engage the system. Personally as a small business owner am still adjusting to requirements and structure to classify as a small business(I cannot come and carry my little change i use to feed my family to support APC largesse). As a small business or self employed person coming into the tax net, pls share your experience or insight so far. Others most likely will benefit and learn Cheers 🍻 |

lilachiever: Ogas in the house.
I currently use Growatt 6000 ES Plus inverter, powered by 8 pieces of Exulted 460W high voltage panels connected in 2Sx4P.
The problem is the highest the panels have given me is around 1600W for something that should be generating 3600W.
Installer is suggesting doing 7 panels parallel since we can’t connect all 8 in parallel as the voltage will be too high for the inverter to take, leading to a fault code.
I’ve not been bothered since I installed it 5 months or so ago, but now that dust is settling on the panel, panel output has even gone as low as 1000W some times.
Please advise. Your installer was wrong. 8S is the way to go. The inverter also supports 2 mppt inputs so you could do 4S on each input( although that would be a waste of cable IMO) |

The 500,000 I quoted for rent relief was based on your earlier assumption that rent for the person earning 6m perannum is 2.5m of which min(500,000 or 20% of 6m) is 500,000.
So continue to live in f***ls paradise and continue to spread misinformation and grandstand.
Put out your calculations here and show what a person earning 6m perannum will pay as tax using old tax law and the new tax law. It is as simple as that. Fact.
Don't conjecture. Don't be afraid to speak fact and figure

Politics › Re: Questions & Answers On The New Nigeria Tax Law by Techsinnovative: 7:21pm On Jan 02 |
creativejagaban: This is a lie. A complete lie.
Let me explain this in simple terms.
If you earn ₦6 million in a year:
1. The first ₦800,000 is not taxed at all, so you’re left with ₦5.2 million.
2. You’re allowed a rent relief of up to ₦500,000, which reduces the taxable amount to ₦4.7 million.
3. There are other reliefs like pension and NHF that can reduce it even further, but let’s ignore those for now. (Reliefs simply mean amounts removed before tax is calculated.)
4. From the ₦4.7 million, the first ₦2.2 million is taxed at 15%, which equals ₦330,000.
5. The remaining ₦2.5 million is taxed at 18%, which comes to ₦450,000.
6. Total tax payable is ₦330,000 + ₦450,000 = ₦780,000.
7. In reality, the tax will be less than ₦780,000 once other reliefs are included.
---
Now compare this to the old tax system, where:
* Almost every part of your income was taxed, * From the first ₦300,000 upward,
So the claim that people earning ₦6 million are being overtaxed is simply not correct. In fact, they will pay less tax.
Let’s stick to facts and stop spreading wrong information.
Tinubu till 2031. Here is the exact provision and wording as quoted in the new Nigerian Tax Act, 2025 regarding Rent Relief Allowance for individuals:
Exact Rent Relief Allowance Provision (as in the Tax Act)
“…rent relief of 20% of annual rent paid, subject to a maximum of ₦500,000, whichever is lower, provided that the individual accurately declares the actual amount of rent paid and other relevant information as may be prescribed by the relevant tax authority.”
This language appears in the section of the Nigeria Tax Act, 2025 that defines eligible deductions when computing an individual’s taxable income. At this point i give up This generation truely deserves the meodicre leaders we have! Have you bothered to read the gazetted tax law PDF? its publicly available by the way. If it proves too technical to read i would suggest using chatgpt to process and decode it into laymans english. i would love to see the look on your face next year when you file a 500k deduction claim on a 1M Rent payment and you get flagged for a tax audit due to false declaration For others who are actually here to listen and learn like me on how to adapt and position in this unfolding situation i would suggest: 1. dont believe all you read online except the source is a credible and knowledgable source! even then ask questions and use your brain 2. Most small businesses will require services of tax consultants and accounting advisors. I believe demand created will surface some form of cheap offer of these services sooner or later 3. In the meantime use chatgpt and other Ai resources to get understanding and create a personal plan. The rich pay little or minimum tax by having a tax strategy that limits their exposure to tax (Crazy enough theres even a TED talk on this!) As it is the full impact of this law wont be felt until filing/deductions are demaded by March 2027. By then elections will be over and if this government is still in power ........... una go see something! |

99thEnemy: Source: https://irs.gm.gov.ng/docs/national/NIGERIA_TAX_ACT_2025.pdf I have tried to ignore all this last minute desperate "PR" by obviously Govt compensated well meaning folks At the heart of it this TAX law is beautiful on its own. However, with today's reality in Nigeria it is Evil and basically elitist. How can you devalue the purchasing power of a nation, effectively almost wiping out the middle class(the main economic engine of growth) just for the goal of expanding the tax net? Let me highlight the elitist flaw in your example in Q22. It's stated a Tax allowance on rent to the tune of. #500,000 for someone with annual income of N6M. This is incorrect! The new tax law allows a rent relief of a max of N500,000 or 20% of rent paid, whichever is lower in value applies!!! So to get a 500,000 rent relief you have to have rent amount in the neighbourhood of #2.5M! My question how can you spend more than almost half of your income on rent and not remain in poverty This tax law is basically taxing poverty with no provision or attempt to promote collective growth Q.E.D Most of the rich already have a shell or holding company that shields their wealth, Politicians should publish their asset and income declaration forms let's hear how much they remit in taxes. Simply put, grow the economy, then tax prosperity. This wuru wuru to the answer can only fly in Nigeria! |

Kaczynski: you need a pure sine wave inverter, dont compromise on this. a modified sine wave will destroy your electronics. you better off with a voltage system 24v/48v as they are more efficient for battery charging and reduce current losses.
you will need approximately 400w - 500w of monocrystalline solar panels. two 300w panels 600w total would provide better charging reserves and faster recovery.
you need a charge controller preferably mppt charge controller is mandatory for efficiency, batteries preferably LiFePO4 superior cycle life (3000-6000 cycles) 90%+ DoD.
option A (LiFePO4 : two 100Ah 12V LiFePO4 batteries (in series for 24V) or one 100Ah 24V unit: NGN 1,200,000 - 2,000,000 idk confirm in your area for price. option B (deep cycle GEL/AGM Lead-Acid): four 100Ah 12V batteries (in series for 24V): NGN 600,000 - 1,000,000
other stuffs needed are cables (correct gauge), breakers, fuses, disconnect.

I would assume this freezer is relatively new and hasnt been modified/tampered with by any local repairer. If thats correct then it should still be close to spec. Given the upcoming dry season i would suggest factoring in an additional 15 - 20% due to weather induced variance. As for the brand, what do I even know I think you misunderstand the reason for this thread, it's for sharing experience and knowledge. Are you speaking from experience in this particular matter? If so your experience would be helpful, if not it really doesn't help as it's just theory. I understand the part of solid state heating elements stressing an inverter that depends on mosfets for the DC - Ac conversion stage, especially as it's a 24v inverter, hence it has to deal with high current to achieve it's target output. Even though this may be a beating on the inverter it will handle it. It currently handles an electric kettle in the morning (1800 watts)- 3 session, 1 hp pumping machine. However, I understand that the above items draw on the inverter is short, electric kettle- 10 mins max, pumping machine 30mins max. In the case of cooking it most likely will be longer, hence my original request for advice on energy efficient options. By the way I have 2 ajebo inverters, one for redundancy |

My Budget and Requirements
Budget: ₦1.5 million
Power Requirements for my store:
10 lighting points 1 × 24-inch TV 2 × standing fans 1 × 1.5HP inverter AC (for afternoon use during peak sun hours while fans are off)
I'm considering a 3.5kVA 24V hybrid inverter to handle my load, especially the AC during sunny afternoons. However, I'm unsure if my budget can accommodate all my needs.
I need advice on:
Hybrid Inverter: What brand and specifications would you recommend? Battery System: Which lithium battery brand and capacity should I choose? Solar Panels: What type and wattage would be most suitable? Charge Controller: What specifications should I look for?
My main concern: Can my ₦1.5 million budget cover a complete system that meets these requirements? i would suggest you tally up your power consumption first (check the label on each appliances for the power rating in watts, if not present in watts just multiply the voltage by the current shown). This gives you a good idea of your power requirements. If that your AC unit is not a recent modern one you may want to consider a 5kva inverter rather than 3.5kva The gentleman in the post quoted below gave good summation already. Although i think Mr reeds battery should be under 600k Edrizz: Yeah, you're good to go with 3.5kva 24v inverter for 310-330k 3.8kwh lithium battery from mrreed for around 600k 4pcs of 590watt jinko panel @500k since u intend to be using AC in the afternoon 150k for cable and accessories

FordMustang: Thank you boss. I chose tubular battery because of my budget. Tubular batteries are not in any way cheaper. They are way more expensive once you understand what you are looking at. Your battery is basically an energy storage device, you store energy in them via charging, you use the stored energy in them via discharges. A battery has 2 major metrics you want to watch out for: Storage Capacity Wh - multiply the ampereHour (AH) rating by the battery Voltage (V) Usable energy available - recommended Depth of Discharge (DOD), the level the manufacturer recommends you can safely discharge the battery to before compromising its lifespan and ending up with a brick Now lets take a general look at the figures:2 tubular batteries 12v 220AH Average (Cost of medium grade) - #600,000 Storage capacity(i doubt its real ) - 24v x 220 = 5280WhRecommended DOD to get 4 - 5 years lifespan is 50%, hence actuall useable energy really = 50% x 5280 = 2640Wh!!! Longetivity - 5 years4Kw Lithium batteryAverage cost - #600,000 Storage capacity - 4000WhRecommended DOD to get 6000 cycles (>15 years lifespan ) is 80- 90%, hence actuall useable energy really = 90% x 4000 = 3600Wh!!! Longetivity - =>15 yearsi hope this helps clarify a bit. Cheers! |

What I Need Advice On:
• Which brand would you recommend for a 3.5KVA 24V hybrid inverter? I've heard mixed opinions and want to hear from people with real experience.
• What's the best tubular battery brand I can use?
• How many batteries would I typically need for this setup?
• What brands of charge controller will give me the best performance and longevity? What wire gauge (mm²) should I use for:
• What mistakes should I avoid as a beginner? Any components I shouldn't cheap out on?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience and wisdom! Any advice from the gurus here would be greatly appreciated. 🙏
Looking forward to learning from your real-world experiences! First mistake is the @ bolded. Forget Tubular/lead acid batteries. Think in terms of Lithium batteries. They provide way more storage density at the same cost, and will also outlast both Tubular & lead acid batteries |

He said his hands were clean,
only weary
Too old, too tired
to hold the men beneath him
gorging on the country’s marrow.
Too tired to stop the looting, too worn to question the men who drained the country dry while saluting him.
He said he meant well.
But meaning is a thin roof
when rain falls through every rafter.
Meaning never saved a child
in a gutted clinic,
or the doctor killed by bandits or kept a surgeon from packing up her books,
and leaving forever.
He grew tired while lecturers died in dim rooms their salaries months behind them, while the classrooms emptied, and the students drifted home to wait for a year that never came back.
He grew tired of the young men demanding to be seen, While he rested behind guarded gates,
his soldiers raised their rifles
and fired into a crowd
of unarmed voices—
young faces demanding to be seen,
to be heard,
to be safe. The bullets found them.
And the country learned
that a tired man
can be more dangerous
than a wicked one.
He said he was not corrupt,
only old,
only unable.
But not having the will or strength
to stop the rot
is a form of rot itself.
When sickness came for him, he flew across the sea, seeking mercy in a place he did not build, a clean bed he never offered his own. And there, beneath foreign lights, the tired man closed his eyes under the white lights of a hospital,
he never built for his own people.
And no one was surprised.
This is how it ends for the tired man,
the body laid out in foreign soil,
the headlines politely phrased,
the country left with nothing
but bats. I raise my hat, very nice piece |

AndroBlaze: Go to their website and contact them directly.
However note this, Haisic don't have the kind of BMS you are looking for nor are they 100% genuine about the cells they use as shown in Dam5reey capacity video.
So expect the 8kw to do less as they are using 25.6v 280ah cells, while Mrreed sells quality 314ah cells which he can build as a 24v setup for you at a slightly higher price though.
So it is up to you. Also how many Amaron batteries do you have and are you willing to sell as scrap? Yes totally agree Mr Reeds the better. However, when budget is limited one has to be realistic about ones wish list. At 800+ am already over my set budget. With 25.6v 280ah cells likely rating is 7168wh, at 80% DOD its about 5734.4wh available which is still great. 6000 cycles promises about 20 years, at 5years am happy with a depreciation cost of about N550/day(thats not bad at all for stable energy in nigeria today.) Am repurposing the quanta batteries to power low power devices so not getting rid of them just yet. Thanks a lot appreciated. |

AndroBlaze: Just like mentioned above, you'd be able to build a 25.6v 150ah battery with Mr Reed's cells for under N460k, without BMS. Probably a similar range with Valto's cells.
Haisic's 24v battery is 8kw but over your price range at +800k I think. Cworth probably have a 24v battery at 200ah, but I don't have an idea of their price.
I doubt you'll be able to get any manufacturer's battery with built in wifi for that price though. If you don't build yourself your best bet would be to get the Juntek battery monitors (though you will not be able to see information at cell level), but you can use home assistant to manage it if you choose. Thank you so much for pointing this out as it really solved my confusion and put my thoughts in order. Am coming from a place of having to consider replacing 2 quanta 200ah batteries at almost 1million which to me was ridiculous even though they were durable, 3kw would the max borderline one could squeeze out. Now compare that to 8kw Haisic at much lesser price point way more power! Abeg where I fit get this! Thanks 🙏 |
