Mobile Phone giant TECNO MOBILE, has been adjudged ‘The Pan African Mobile Brand Phone Of The Year’ by the organizers of the prestigious Titans of Tech Awards last weekend in Lagos. The award was one of the highpoints of the 2017 edition of the ceremony.

The event had the Minister of Communications Barr. Christopher Orji former national president of Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) and a Journalist with the Sun Newspaper literarily hushed Lagos for the sake of award winning policeman and Nigeria's youngest Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari at the Lagos @50 Hall of Fame Awards and Gala Nite organised by TechTV in Lagos.
Chris who stood in for members of crime reporting guild, having made the city of Lagos keep quiet for as long as his speech lasted, poured an unprecedented amount of encomium on Kyari.
The reporter of over twenty years’ experience said that it was Abba that transformed Lagos into a near crime free state.
He must have made the super cop, who looked calm and unperturbed by praise, blush severally.
The former president of CRAN at the event recalled instances where Abba had trace suspects to as far as Nigeria’s neighboring countries.
Chris mentioned the case of a notorious armed robber and kingpin of a deadly gang that terrorized Lagos for over fourteen years.
“It was ACP Abba Kyari that put an end to that guy’s adventures after many years that the police without him couldn’t apprehend.
“Abba is a cop that would tell you want he would do, to get a criminal before the law, and that he would definitely do. We don’t know how he does it but for sure we know he does it at last, “Chris said.
He reminded Abba that the government of Lagos state and its governor Akinwumi Ambode are always ready to welcome hin back to Lagos.
Abba Kyari was the only recipient with two awards: Excellence in Security Service, and Outstanding Young Efficient Security Officer of the Year.
Kyari was the brain behind the recent arrest of five members of the notorious gang of kidnappers and robbers that had turned Ikorodu and its environment topsy-turvy.
The gang was nabbed by a team supervised by Kyari while they were about to rob five banks in Ikorodu and Lekki, in Lagos.

IGP INTELLIGENCE UNIT TEAM FOILS MULTIPLE BANK ROBBERIES IN LAGOS… ROBBERIES WERE TO TAKE PLACE ON JUNE 1ST
In follow up to credible technical intelligence, operatives of the Intelligence Response Team IRT deployed to Lagos by IGP Ibrahim K Idris to neutralize threat pose on Lagos by the notorious new militant leader called America, have successfully foiled attempt by the gang to rob banks in Lagos.
The gang is also responsible for the kidnapping of the Epe school children last week.
Five key members of the notorious militant group led by America who have perfected plans for massive attack and robbing of 5 banks in Lagos were arrested in Ikorodu and Ajah areas of Lagos.
The suspects are Abiodun Olaroye aka Gbeleju, a 38yrs native of Ode Kreme village in Ondo State, Ebipatgh Tuwei aka Segun 47yrs and Benjamin Powei aka Ben a 42yrs, both natives of Arobo, Ondo State.
Others are Ikechukwu Samuel Innocent aka IK, 33yrs of Isiagwu village of Abia State, who is a security man in one of the targeted banks and Samuel Chinedu 30yrs aka Hit Man, an indigene of Ika North of Delta State.
They were part of the gang responsible for the death of 4 policemen and army captain in Ikorodu last month.
All five suspects were arrested in Ikorodu and Ajah areas of Lagos after several days of unrelenting follow up by IRT.
Four of the arrested suspects are militants who were sent by their gang leader America to survey the banks and hire 2 operational buses that will be used to convey the militants to and from the river bank to the banks.
As said earlier, the 5th suspect is a security man in one of the banks targeted to be robbed.
The banks marked for imminent robbery by the militants are Zenith Bank and FCMB Bank in Lekki and FCMB, GTB and Keystone Banks in Ajah area of Lagos.
The banks were chosen because of their proximity to the river side according to the militants arrested.

They all confessed to the planned bank robberies and confirmed that they were sent by their boss in the creek, America to survey the 5 banks in Ajah and Lekki. They did the surveillance with the bank security man who brought the job to the militants.
It was America who fixed Wednesday, June 1st 2017 as the date for the attack on the banks before his boys were arrested by IRT.
The police said that the suspects are cooperating with detectives in a bid to effect to arresting the gang-leader, America and other gang-members.
Part of the discussion was to rescue of the school children.

SP Oyin Giese-Adamu, The Police Woman Making a Difference
While a lot of Nigerians would have no reason to call the police their friend, a few in the force have endeared themselves in the heart of the nation.
One of such is the Divisional Crime Officer, Isolo Police Division, Superintendent of Police Oyinpreyebofa Frances Giese-Adamu. Popularly referred to as the “THE PEACE MAKER” in police circle. Oyin as she fondly called believes so much in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) which she has used to resolve cases that ordinarily should have ended in the court of law.
The plank upon which SP Giese- Adamu was honoured with ‘Excellence in Security Service Award (Alternative Dispute Resolution –ADR) was the case brought before her by a married couple Mr. and Mrs. Kayode Dare who were seeking a divorce ; But instead of allowing the couples have their ways, as a wife and mother; she used her personal money, time and wisdom to settle the grievance between the two parties as the couples are back joyfully all thanks to the amazing SP Oyin.
It was indeed an emotional atmosphere as the video interview of the couple Mrs Joy Kayode Dare was played at the Lagos @50 Hall of Fame Awards which held at the Sheba Event Center under the distinguished Chairmanship of Sir. Demola Aladekomo Founder Chams Plc and Chairman, Smart City Resort Plc.
On what motivated her into taking that noble action of saving the collapsing marriage, Giese –Adamu said, “When I was joining the police I made up my mind that I was going to make impact and I have done so with the best of my ability.
“People keep asking me why I like peace and can go extra mile to ensure that cases brought before me are settled amicably without rancour and I say the motivation comes naturally with the help of God. When I listened to that couple I just felt that this can be resolved if they will just listen and communicate and discuss the issues. And that settlement came with a lot of sacrifice and I don't regret it because the couples are happily and joyfully together again. This is not the only case, there was another case of a driver that was accused wrongly of stealing by the boss, but after listening intensely to the driver, I knew deep down that this young man did not steal the money but because the boss was insisting that he has to be charged to court I had to issue my personal cheque just to ensure the matter ended amicably because I was more than convinced that the driver didn’t steal the money. I believe so much in Alternative Dispute Resolution She said.
Also speaking at the event, the president of TECHTV, Mr. Don Pedro Aganbi organiser of the Lagos @50 Hall of Fame Awards said “What SP Giese –Adamu did is uncommon in the Nigerian police space and indeed our society. It has further buttressed the fact that the Police are truly our friend.
