Let me keep it 100 with you guys.

I’m 27, dead-ass broke, still living with my parents, and tired of dead-end options. I’ve put my bets on web development (currently grinding HTML/CSS) with the goal of becoming a freelance full-stack dev. But lately, I’ve been hearing:

“AI will replace coders!”
“The market is oversaturated!”

I need real talk from those who’ve made it:

Is full-stack freelancing still a viable escape route? Or am I wasting time?

What’s the FASTEST path from zero to first income? (I can dedicate 3hrs/day)

Specialize or generalize? Should I go all-in on MERN stack or pick a niche (like Web3/AI integration)?

Nigerian freelancers – How are you navigating PayPal restrictions, client trust issues, etc.?




My Current Reality:

Learning CSS (not even Flexbox yet, lol).

No degree, no connections, just hunger.

Goal: $1k/month within 12 months.

Be brutally honest:

Should I pivot to something else (UI/UX, cybersecurity, etc.)?

Or double down and outwork the AI/saturation fears?
