damine: No i don't have I20 yet. Didn't bother sending financial docs since I knew I wouldn't make it in time for visa interview. Will pay SEVIS fee and get I20 for Spring 2015 by God's grace.

aanowai: Damine, do u already have ur I20 and admission letter for spring 2015 admission? If u do, I have a feeling ur SEVIS no for fall 2014 might be different from ur SEVIS no for spring 2015, going by recent experiences of my nairalanders.

zeezahbee: WRONG, he shouldn't go to the school on his visa, NEVER, once he reports to the school on his visa, it means he will be checked in and the one semester rule before transferring will happen, the school might terminate his sevis if he says anything about transferring asap. have always said it here, GO TO THE CC STRAIGHT not the school on your visa, OR ELSE YOU GONNA GET STRUCK

juntod: Go straight to the ISSO of the school on your visa. Make sure you are with the I-20 of the CC. Show it to them and tell them you are transferring your SEVIS info to the CC. They have no reason not to oblige. Make sure you go before resumption date of both schools.

This is why they are able to alert the immigration if you are in the US and do not show up at the ISSO before resumption date. This doesn't mean they can influence your visa decision in anyway.

Walspring: I dont understand you fully, how can your school help you in getting the visa? I dont think it work that way.. Imagine your school teaching VO their work... I think embassy do co copy the school and poe after granting visa cos one guy said his school got a message from the embassy about his visa then.
