Guys is this advice okay? Someone said I should contact my cc and let them know I would love to come to their school, but the visa I have bears another universities name. And ask them if its possible that they transfer my sevis from them to the cc. How do you guys see this?

pls don't go to the embassy with olouwole packagings. Odikwa very risky. They may only want to verify only if they suspect the statement don't look original.

No i don't have I20 yet. Didn't bother sending financial docs since I knew I wouldn't make it in time for visa interview. Will pay SEVIS fee and get I20 for Spring 2015 by God's grace.

Really? Ur school has really tried for u oo.. I mean, for them to have already sent ur I20 four times already. Anyway, for those of us whose admission has been deferred to Winter 2015/January, when do we expect to get our admission documents? (Sep or Oct).

talk to the officer responsible for that. I think most schools would want to see your financial docs.

The uni might feel bad like you used them to get your visa and then you dump them, if you go to the ISSO to tell them you wanna transfer. They might want you to do a semester there before leaving which is not in my budget.

Damine, do u already have ur I20 and admission letter for spring 2015 admission? If u do, I have a feeling ur SEVIS no for fall 2014 might be different from ur SEVIS no for spring 2015, going by recent experiences of my nairalanders.

Not in my case though. My school sent me deferred i20 both for summer and fall and they all had same sevis number. And they are about to send me a new one for spring with same number. This will be the 5th time I will be getting their i20 if they send for spring.

zeezahbee: WRONG, he shouldn't go to the school on his visa, NEVER, once he reports to the school on his visa, it means he will be checked in and the one semester rule before transferring will happen, the school might terminate his sevis if he says anything about transferring asap. have always said it here, GO TO THE CC STRAIGHT not the school on your visa, OR ELSE YOU GONNA GET STRUCK

Go straight to the ISSO of the school on your visa. Make sure you are with the I-20 of the CC. Show it to them and tell them you are transferring your SEVIS info to the CC. They have no reason not to oblige. Make sure you go before resumption date of both schools.

please I need to be cleared on how to transfer since they know you got your visa. If you want to transfer, can you go to the cc direct and then inform the school on your passport you are transferring ? Or going to the college on your passport, then transfer later. Which one is better please guys how best can this be done successfully?

I think embassy do co copy the school and poe after granting visa cos one guy said his school got a message from the embassy about his visa then.
