The chairman of the People's Democratic Party in Osun State, Hon. Soji Adagunodo has commented on the crisis rocking the party, saying that Mr Sunday Akanfe Atidade's letter alleging him of mismanagement of the party is absurd. Adagunodo, while reacting to Atidade's letter asking him to refund "mismanaged and unaccounted funds" of the party, maintained that in all his activities and dealings as the elected Osun PDP chairman, he acted in good conscience and in total obedience to the collective agreements and goals of the party leadership. He lashed out at Atidade for allegedly attempting to smear his image, adding that he decided to comment on the acting chairman's letter and sundry issues because of his love for the PDP. Adagunodo declared: "while I am not really amazed by your style and also wish to remain calm in the face of highest provocations, I cannot but comment on a number of issues that you raised in your letter. "Before I proceed, let me quickly state that I am not supposed to respond to this letter given that you have flouted the constitution of our party. For your information, the purported Audit Report on which you probably situated the letter is expected to be strictly a confidential document and not meant for public consumption. Contrariwise, for reasons best known to you and which is alien to our party, you made it public. As a result, and given that you have decided to play up the matter, set aside the constitution and deliberately tried to damage my image, I will try to offer some explanations without causing innocent people any disaffection whatsoever. "Be informed, however, that this response is only prompted by, and is consistent with, the love I have for our party and for the party to continue to remain alive beyond you and me. Note: "(1) There are some personal and company names you mentioned in the Audit Report which have to do with the National Headquarters of our party. It is not proper for you to expose them the way you have done. You should have made inquiries before rushing to the press. You can still find out or talk to me personally on phone and I will mention the names. "(2) In the last 24hours, I have watched unfolding events. You should know better that I indeed gave my all and put in my best including my resources to move the party forward and ensure that its activities were carried out as occasions demanded. "Having said that, on the money you claimed was transferred to C-SOKA NIGERIA LIMITED, you were aware and I know that the State Working Committee members, the Executive Committee members, the Stakeholders, the leaders of our party, all members of Elders Caucus and all strata of the leadership of our great party in Osun State as well as the Dr Eddy Olafeso led Zonal Working Committee were all aware that we chartered a 50 seater plane to bring all the National leadership of our party, led by His Excellency, Prince Uche Secondus to Osun State for the South West MEGA rally. "The service was paid for by C-SOKA Nigeria Limited on behalf of our party, because the initial arrangements to use Dr. Deji Adeleke's private jet failed. The aviation company was linked to us by Mr. Bamidele Adeleke who is versatile in aviation business. He nominated the airline and sent the company's account to me personally. I paid the company from C-SOKA Nigeria Limited - N7,516,000:00. Facts are sacred it is always better to dig deep than to assume and act on impulse. "In the same vein, we also contacted DAAR COMMUNICATIONS media outfit, AIT to cover the South West MEGA rally live. The South West Chairman, Dr. Eddy Olafeso was in charge. Due to insufficient funds in the Party accounts, through which the money was paid, DAAR COMMUNICATIONS threatened not to mobilize their technicians to Osun unless payment was completed. Again, I had to rescue the party by paying from C-SOKA Nig Ltd the sum of N1,000,000:00 to DAAR COMMUNICATIONS to save the face of the party from another financial embarrassment. "Furthermore, we all agreed at the South West Organizing Committee meeting to use customized Shirts, T-Shirts and Jerseys and ordinary T-shirts, Jerseys, face caps, round neck T-shirts and other souvenirs to make the Rally colourful, it was myself that paid for the items in the sum of N5,402,500:00. Recall as well that we agreed at the meeting that expected defectors to the party that day, numbering about 8,000, be given ANKARA materials. Even though we were supposed to purchase Ankara for 8,000 people, we were only able to purchase 5,000 bundles of Ankara due to paucity of funds. These were sent to all local governments for use by defectors from other parties to the PDP. I paid the sum of Five Million Naira (N5m) personally to proactively push this from a mere idea to reality. It is worth stressing that arrangements for all these were, as a matter of necessity, to be done earlier, before the week of the Rally. Hence, my coming to the aid of our party in that regard and on several other occasions. "It is, therefore, necessary to make it clear that it was all these funds that were refunded and credited to C-SOKA Nigeria Limited account. It may interest you to know that the money refunded was not up to the amount I lent the party. The records of the party's indebtedness to me are available but were not included in the Audit Report. For you to now mischievously raise a false alarm and play dumb over transactions that are not unknown to the party leadership and attempt to attack my personality is callous, irrational, and demeaning of your status as a leader and active participant in the processes that led to how I actually bailed out our party. "Meanwhile, I saw in the purported audit report that Prince Bola Ajao was alleged to have collected the sum of one hundred and sixty two million, five hundred and sixty-seven thousand Naira (N162,567,000) cash. May be Prince Bola Ajao should mention the names of all State Working Committee members, other officers of the party, members of various committees set up and whoever again in the party that disbursed parts of this fund so that you could retrieve the quoted amount from them. "Among others, it is interesting to note from the audit report in circulation that it covered up to end of 2018. Mr Acting Chairman, what happened to the account of the party from end of 2018 till when I stepped aside? Is it because I was the Major Financier of our Party during that period and all the money paid by me or my company to run the Party are not worth noting? If the report is thorough and the purportedly captured period is extended, the party would need to pay so much money back to me. "To this end, like I stated in my reply to the letter that you wrote to me, in respect of handing over, there is no document whatsoever or property of the party that is in my care. They are all situated at the Party Secretariat and all the Working Committee members, including yourself, have access to them all. "So, whatever information you need is at your doorstep and if you could not get it, ask the respective officers in charge or the Director of Administration to guide you. The only property of the party in my care is the Toyota Avensis official car and I have told you, repeatedly, a long time ago to come and pick it up. I have not used it for more than eight months now. It is available for you to pick up anytime you are ready to." On the crisis rocking the part, he said: "in view of the foregoing, I must add, for the sake of education and the future of our party, that leadership is no doubt a big challenge everywhere and especially in this part of the world. Leadership tasks are more daunting in times of crisis. It requires great knowledge, skills, maturity and wisdom from above for anybody to lead a party in crisis. "Consequently, a leader should be able to keep his head when others around him are losing theirs and yet blaming it on him. A leader should not deal in lies even when being lied against. He should not hate when being hated and conspired against. "In all my activities and dealings as the elected Osun PDP chairman, I acted in good conscience and in total obedience to our collective agreements and goals. "As much as I don’t want to have a personality clash with any of my colleagues in the SWC, it is heartbreaking and smirks of treachery that my deputy, and others who were with us and part of all decisions and actions, could now deny actions collectively agreed upon and implemented. My deputy should in particular remember as Charles de Gaulle, former President of France once said, 'faced with crisis, the man of character falls back on himself. He imposes his own stamp of action, takes responsibility for it, makes it his own'. He should not be acting as a rubber stamp for illegal acts aimed at impugning another person’s character and integrity. "Common sense, as well as elementary accounting, points to the fact that when there are incomes there will be expenditures. Is it not crude, absurd and antithetical that an Audit Report would dwell so long on income without capturing expenditures? What happened to the administrative costs of day-to-day running of the secretariat? An audit is a much more comprehensive exercise and having depths than the shallow, unauthorized, jaundiced and witch-hunt report produced to massage some persons' ego! "For truth, under the PDP constitution, an audit is an annual exercise to be ordered by State Executive Committee (SEC) and not the State Working Committee (SWC) and that any such report is to be presented to the State Congress. ( _see_ _Chapter_ _9_ _of_ _our_ _party_ _constitution_ : *Audit of Party Accounts*). On this premise, the purported Audit Report in circulation is, therefore, ultra vires and an exercise in futility. "Even at that, it is also a known fact that no political party will ever state all its actions for which expenditures were incurred in its accounting books. Sometimes, a party is even careful not to discuss its strategies and spendings at formal meetings because some of those actions may be unorthodox or unethical but necessary for success at the polls. This is how it is, in all parties and at all levels. More so, there are moles everywhere. Out of 12 disciples there is at least one Judas." He continued: "time will tell whether Osun PDP is on the right sail or not. But let us remember, according to Martin Luther King Jnr, 'the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in the moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenges and controversy.' "It is now time for all men and women to stand up and be counted as this wind will blow no good. If we all lose our heads, spill the beans and open the can of worms, the party’s progress will be seriously impaired with strategies being exposed to the enemy. The Party may not recover from this in years to come, definitely not before the next governorship elections. This will have a devastating and debilitating effect on our membership. I am a leader who builds and not a destroyer. Keeping calm in the face of provocation and character assassination is not an easy task but it is certainly not too much to keep our party in form! "But, let me ask: Is it accidental or coincidental or deliberate that all the attacks and my attackers are all from Ede and their cronies? It is about two months now that I have been asked to step aside in order to face a Disciplinary Committee or rather a Reconciliatory team of the Party over some petitions. I am still waiting to be contacted by any of the Committees. I have kept my cool, believing justice will be served. But this is not so with my traducers, who are daily busy shopping for reasons to buttress their petition. I am also told that the Acting Chairman even went ahead to cajole all State Officers to pass a 'Vote of No Confidence' on a man that has stepped aside with a story that the National Chairman of our great party gave the order. Are these not altogether absurd and ridiculous? "In closing, these are my preliminary remarks to the so-called Audit Report and sundry matters shamefully conjured by persons who are hell-bent in hastily terminating my tenure forgetting that times and seasons are in the hands of God." 2.9bn fraud: EFCC urged to investigate NNPC The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been asked to investigate the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) over alleged $7.5million fraud. This was contained in a petition dated June 5th and forwarded to the anti-craft agency by a whistleblower. The amount which summed up to 2,910,000,000 naira, according to a whistleblower, was allegedly pocketed in a "monumental fraud" bordering on 2020/2021 insurance premium. The whistleblower alleged that the fraud was perpetuated by the Lead insurers in connivance with the management of the NNPC. Details of the document showed that the premium for the insurance of NNPC was inflated by over 20% of the original figure, against standard practice. This amounted to about USD 7.5million. The brokers to the business, while at a meeting in London early this year, raised objection and pointed out the discrepancy, arguing that the inflated cost was at the expense of NNPC but this was reportedly turned down. The beneficiary of the deal and the management of NNPC later signed off the documents with the inflated premium, without minding the $7.5m gap. The whistleblower urged the EFCC and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) to unravel the beneficiary of the differential premium which the insurers collected as the net actual premium. The petitioner maintained that the current government prides itself as enemy of corruption in public and private institutions and admonished the government agencies to walk the talk. This is coming on the heel of the report that the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited (KRPC) generated no revenue in 2018 and incurred an operating loss of N64.5 billion, as shown in the first audited financial statements of the NNPC after 43 years of its operation. More than 500 Canadian doctors and 150 medical students have signed a public letter protesting the recent government policy to increase their pay. "We, Quebec doctors who believe in a strong public system, oppose the recent salary increases negotiated by our medical federations," the letter says. In the letter which was published on February 25, the group said they are offended that they would receive raises when nurses and patients are struggling. As of Wednesday afternoon, more than 700 physicians, residents and medical students from the Canadian province had signed an online petition asking for their pay raises to be canceled. A group named Médecins Québécois Pour le Régime (MQRP), which represents Quebec doctors and advocates for public health, started the petition. The letter continues: "These increases are all the more shocking because our nurses, clerks and other professionals face very difficult working conditions, while our patients live with the lack of access to required services because of the drastic cuts in recent years and the centralization of power in the Ministry of Health." "The only thing that seems to be immune to the cuts is our remuneration," the letter says. The 213 general practitioners, 184 specialists, 149 resident medical doctors and 162 medical students want the money used for their raises to be returned to the system instead. "We believe that there is a way to redistribute the resources of the Quebec health system to promote the health of the population and meet the needs of patients without pushing workers to the end," the letter says. "We, Quebec doctors, are asking that the salary increases granted to physicians be canceled and that the resources of the system be better distributed for the good of the health care workers and to provide health services worthy to the people of Quebec." If you have been dating someone for four or five months or longer, it’s safe to say that you know that person pretty well. By the time you have dated someone this long, you have likely seen them in a wide range of circumstances and you have a sense of whether this is a person you can trust to be monogamous — or not. Sadly, many people continue relationships even after they sense their partner might be Cheating, so the second purpose of this article is to tell you to trust your instincts and terminate the relationship soon after you sense potential trouble. 1. Past history of Cheating. Hands down, the number one sign that your new date will cheat on you is if that person cheated in their past relationship. You may not find out this information early on, but it will often come out over time. Some individuals have cheated in the past and won’t ever do it again, but most people who cheated in the past will cheat again. To feel convinced that someone won’t cheat on you — even though they cheated on their ex — you need to have a lot of conversations on the subject and, ideally, you want to know that this person went to therapy or sought other help (self-help books, etc.) to deal with the underlying issues. 2. Flirting with others (right in front of your face!). Who would do such a thing — flirt with someone right in front of their date? Millions of men and women! It happens all the time so be on the lookout for unbridled flirting right before your eyes. If your date or new partner flirts with others in front of you, there is a problem. Odds are that this individual needs a lot of attention and that this individual will one day cross the line when you’re not present and shift from flirting to full-blown $exual contact. If you want to have a long-term monogamous relationship, set a rule with your partner that neither of you will ever flirt with someone in front of one another. If your date takes the plunge and flirts in front of you, talk to friends about whether it is worth terminating the relationship. This kind of behavior is extremely difficult to change, so why not just invest in someone who doesn’t need that much attention from the start? 3. Going MIA for hours or being unreachable by phone. If your date or new partner occasionally disappears during the day or evening and can’t be reached, this is a sign that he or she may be Cheating. If he or she is unreachable for a couple of hours, that individual might be at the movies or the gym. But if someone is out of contact for a few hours — especially at night — it is a sign that Cheating may be taking place. When you talk to your new partner about the “disappearance,” be honest and share that these absences trigger anxiety or insecurity in you. More importantly, however, if this behavior becomes any sort of pattern, the real task you need to take on is to consider whether it’s time to end the relationship. Simple reminders to take with you… One of the best rules to remember when it comes to Cheating is — wait for it — that your worries about Cheating are probably founded unless you have a long history of paranoia with no justification. Most people don’t want to believe that the new person in their life is Cheating, so having that sneaking feeling probably means that there really is something to worry about. If you sense that the person you’re with is Cheating on you, take good care of yourself and protect yourself emotionally. Detach a little from the relationship and take a lot of quiet time by yourself so that you can get in touch with your feelings and then make a sound decision about how to proceed. http://afrobadoomedia.com/2016/12/28/ladies-3-sure-fire-signs-hes-going-to-cheat-on-you/

Feminism: A Misplacement of Priority- by Labby Owoboye A thorough scrutiny of Chimamanda Adichie's feminist manifesto and other feminist arguments provide the basis of this polemic. Let me start by asking this pressing question which has been consistently echoing in my mind for days: Is it that we don't really understand that Feminism as a concept is an agenda sponsoring by acfew people to serve the interest of a few people or we know but feel unconcerned? The content of Adichie's feminist Manifesto is perilous and so much detrimental to the minds of a girl-child. It's like re- engineering her brain, orientation and belief and this has no good to offer than to finally puncture the destabilizing society. It is on this basis that I loudly, but calmly call upon each and every person who believes in preservation of an ideal society to join me in rescue mission of our derailed feminists from the road that lead to nowhere other than disaster, destruction and disorderliness or what will you call the agony of a single mother? Adichie and her co-feminists just woke up one day and thought of imposing their personal view on how society should be without any finding of why it is what it is. In her said feminist manifesto, she said girls should be treated like men and i'm inclined to ask: In what area has men ever claimed unreasonable total superiority over women? A man's wife is always his closest associate and adviser or better still his controller except on a very few occasion. Before he can make any decision, he will definitely apprise his wife first and if she is intelligent enough, she can influence his decision. So what is inequal in that? By virtue of religious belief, Man was created and a woman was removed from his rib. The Yoruba tradition of origin never mentioned a female as the first human being, but Man which - Oduduwa. It goes like this virtually in all the traditions of origin of all the races of the World. So what genuine justification is our acclaimed feminists have to prove this wrong? That apart, the contemporary Yoruba setting gives more regard to a girl-child than it gives to a boy-child. I remember when my sister was in higher institution and I was in grammar school, my parent would pack all sorts of foodstuffs and instructed me to take them to my sister in school with particular amount of money. I was fascinated by this and foreshadowing how I would also be treated with care the same way my sister was treated when I got to University, but I was wrong, the day I resumed to my University, I was given six piece of yam, grounded melon and sum of #2000 at a time when my transport fare cost #1500. This is the case in almost every Yoruba family and despite this, boy-child will never complained of injustice or have you ever seen boys or guys lamenting over it? That is one reason you can't equate boys to girls. They both have their area of specialization. To academia, you must contemplate and do your research before jumping to conclusion and not the other way round. Before arguing blindly or equating girls to boys, there are civilized procedure that's expected to follow. You will have to consult psychologists to know how girls think and how boys think and factors engendering their thoughts. You will consult historians to draw inferences from the lives of individuals and societies they have studied so far. You will consult medical practitioners for better understanding on medical fitness of both sex and primary/secondary school teachers for knowledge on how both sex behave naturally from the oral stage of sexualization through phallic, Odipedia to puberty stage. Parents are not excluded because they understand better. When a woman trains a child, she trains a nation. Whenever your husband takes care of your baby in your presence or absence, he is helping you and discharging his duty at the same time. He is discharging his duty in the sense that you both have the child while he's helping you because that's your area of specialization and not his. Women are believed to be excellent at taking care of child than men are. Look around you and compare a girl raise by single mother with the one raise by single father. It's obvious that the one raise by single mother will enjoy parental care than the one raise by single father. This is why it's said that woman should be with child upon a divorce. Their area of specialization is different. It is like telling a carpenter to work as electrician. He(carpenter) can't do it like a real electrician no matter how smart he is. Let's quickly analysis the tenure of Okonjo Iweala as a finance minister and Chier Obafemi Awolowo as a commissioner of finance. Awolowo served as a commissioner of finance at a time when Nigeria fought its thirty years civil war and despite the cost of the war, he didn't borrow a kobo from any international lender. Compare him with Okonjo Iweala or the clueless Kemi Adeosun. How you raise your child will undoubtedly affect the society. What do we expect to happen to children when both father and mother leave for work in the early morning and come back at night? The mother is claiming she is not a slave or nanny and that it's responsibility of both of them to take care of their children equally but this same mother has forgotten how her mother almost singlehandedly raised her to become who is she today. Now we are lamenting over the barbaric attitudes of primary and secondary school students not minding to dig deep the historical causes of their destabilizing attitudes towards society. If you are married and you want to raise a well-mannered child, then either of you(the couple) has to dedicate much of his/her time to that purpose. That's not even about inequality, it's about reaching a consensus. To be frank, there is nothing like equality in the World let alone in marriage. Why some are rich while others are poor? Why do we have one person as leader and others as followers? Why can't all of us be president at the same time? These are questions we are expecting you to provide answers to if you truly understand the uncivilized agenda you're agitating for. In marriage, one of the two must be a superordinate while the other be a subordinate and this doesn't suggest that a man must naturally be superordinate, no, it could be the woman, but both of them can't be equal "sikenah". They(feminists) emotionally argued that a girl-child should be allowed to be what she wants to be and not what the parents or societies want her to be and one is tends to ask; what if she wants to be a thief or proustite, Should will still allow her because it's a free World? The point is, she can't be allowed to be what contradict to the reality of life. She is not the only victim of the circumstances as there are also some boys who act like girls, but their parents always correct them right from their childhood while the few that are not lucky to be corrected mistakenly turned to gays when they grew up. A man was explaining his philosophy of free World to another man and the second man asked if the first man would like to see his farm. When they got to the farm, the first man exclaimed: "Why? this is not a farm. There is nothing here but weeds. Well, you see, said the owner, I didn't want to infringe upon the liberty of the farm in any way. I was just giving the farm a chance to express itself and to choose its own production. I hope you can understand my farm analogy! For your farm to produce crops, you must remove the weed and take care of it properly. One day, in the class of international relation, my lecturer was asking us why women and girls are always the victims of war, but I couldn't express myself satisfactorily in that class, otherwise, I would have asked what he meant by saying women and girls are victims of war. To me, it's absurd to subscribe to such belief. What of male soldiers who died or lost one or the other part of their bodies in the course of defending the state at the battlefield? Who are the real victims between them? It's just unfortunate that we always over hype anything woman. Enforcing girls to get involved in men stuff is like imposing on them, what they don't really have interest in. Girls with the exception of few don't want to get involved in such stuff voluntarily. They want to dress gorgeously. They want to be patronized by several men before ending up with one. They want to get involved in more easier, but brainy task which can give them enough time to take care of themselves. They want to get married because of many things which shelter(sex) is just one. They want to have babies. They want to raise a child whether boy or girl because they enjoy being identified as successful mothers and most importantly, they want to be an underground force influencing the decisions of their husbands. Ask Patience Jonathan, Turai Yaradua, Mariam Babangida or Michelle Obama to choose between being the President or First Lady. You will be surprisingly surprised when they choose the latter over the former. In Africa, women are busy with building families while men are busy with building communities. Feminism has not and can not stop men from cheating. It's like thinking corruption will be totally eradicated in the World. It's just not possible. So, telling me that married women should also be freed to cheat is not bizarre to me because they are doing it already. And to encourage the good ones to follow suit is like paying evil with evil which I doubt can provide the equality you're craving for. It will only turn the good ones to bad ones, even more worse that the married men you're accusing. There are many ways of curbing cheating, but feminism is out of it. The number of single-mothers is drastically increasing in the name of feminism. Married women are so in haste that they can't tolerate simple thing in marriage. Hence, they become single-mothers. And how do you expect single-mothers to satisfy their sexual urges whenever the need arises other than flirting with other married men whose their wives don't quickly join to conclusion unnecessarily? They are now becoming part of what they preach against. Is that kind of society you are clamouring for? The feminist agenda in Africa is a misplacement of priority and it would have been better if these so-called feminists like Chimamanda Adichie dedicate the resource and energy they are putting on the mirage(Feminism) on something rewarding like development in science and technology, agriculture and industry. The western World you're imitating also has its history. Women were not recognized in those states until World War I and subsequently the second World war. Those women did not earn their space through online articles or unnecessary lamentation, they earned it through actions. They occupied the industries when their men were at battlefield and withdrew upon their arrival. Despite their remarkable actions and boldness, it still took them many years after the wars before they were granted franchise or right to vote and be voted for. I hope you have read or heard about Aduni Oluwole who was of the belief that Nigeria was not ripe for self-government. She died with that idea. So if you see anyone advocating unrealistic agenda, tell them they are living in fantasy and they will eventually die with the agenda even if they spend over 200years in this World. Feminism without gainsay is misplacement of priority. The white discrimination against the black race issue which is far more important to Africa than any agenda has not been overcome yet and you're bringing up another one which lack any reasonable justification for its existence. It would have been better if we focus on emancipation of black Africa in totality, the improvement in science and technology because these are what we need and not feminism. I'm not in support of inequality in marriage, but I believe the feminism gesture which is being exhibited lately is overreaction because women are already in charge. http://afrobadoomedia.com/2016/11/08/feminism-a-misplacement-of-priority-by-labby-owoboye/
