CelebritiesSaidi Balogun Says Jonathan Treated Nollywood Like Primary School Pupils by Teeboy22(op): 8:46am On Jun 05, 2015
Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun who was recently
cheated by Alaba movie pirates has come after the
immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan over
his soft approach to piracy. According to him, GEJ treated Nollywood celebrities
like school kids instead of focusing on ending
piracy. Hear him; “There was a time I produced a movie, and it was
pirated within days; it’s like the pirates have their
own copies. We’re still looking for who leaked it,
but we don’t know yet. I lost over N15m on that
project. However, I’m still motivated to do more
because it’s my dream. Soon, change will come to this country. The last
government was hosting us (Nollywood) as if they
were hosting birthday parties for kids and school
children. For one day, they never thought of it to beg
senators and the House of Representatives to pass
appropriate laws on piracy. I am seizing this
opportunity to beg the new Senators and House of
Representatives members who are in the committee
in charge of culture to please pass relevant bills on entertainment. That is what they are elected to do, not to be
shouting and jumping fence like they did the other
time.

TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by Teeboy22(m): 4:56am On Jun 03, 2015
MallamYahaya:
In 2013 December my wife and I applied for a USA visit visa but we were denied. After we got the letter of refusal, we quickly headed to the Visa Center in Lekki and applied for a UK visa. We got the UK visa and spent 10 days of holiday in the UK early 2014.

In late 2014 my wife and I relocated to the UK so I can pursue my doctoral studies. I decided this time to apply alone. A friend of mine sent me an invitation letter and so I applied and booked at appointment for the embassy in London on June 2, 2015. I saw a number of Nigerians with the green passports as well. One Nigerian girl who was ahead of me had just completed her studies here in the UK and wanted to travel to the U.S. Before her graduation. She was denied visa. It was now my turn. Before then, I noticed that you could go into the embassy in London with your phones and again, the windows were the VOs interviewing applicants were was separate from the main waiting area unlike in Nigeria.

This is the transcript of my interview:

vO: Why are you going to the U.S. At this time?

Me: to visit a friend.

VO: So you are going to Florida?

Me: Yes

VO: what are you doing in the UK?

Me: I am a PhD student

VO: which course?

Me: Law

VO: when are you completing the course?

Me: 2018

VO: is this your first time?

Me: no I applied with my wife in 2013 but we were refused visas.

VO: is your wife in the UK

Me: yes

vO: why is she not travelling?

Me: she is working

VO: who is paying your fees ? your government?

Me: no my elder brother

vO: What does he do?

Me: He is a university professor.

VO: Your visa is approved . You will get your passport in a week's time.
woaww.....Congrats Man!

Politics6 CBN Officials Arrested For Stealing N8 Billion, Recirculating Damaged Notes by Teeboy22(op): 8:28am On Jun 01, 2015
6 high ranking officials of the Central Bank of
Nigeria have been arrested for alleged N8 Billion
fraud. According to EFCC, the suspects allegedly stole N8
billion defaced, worn out currencies and
recirculated it. Here is an official statement from the anti corruption
agency; “The suspects drawn from various business units of
the apex bank are to be arraigned by the anti-graft
agency before a Federal High Court sitting in
Ibadan, Oyo State, from Tuesday June 2, 2015 to
Thursday June 4, 2015. “They include Patience Okoro Eye (Abuja), Afolabi
Olufemi (Lagos), Kolawole Babalola (Ibadan),
Olaniran Muniru Adeola (Ibadan), Fatai Yusuf,
Adekunle (Head, Security, CBN, (Ibadan) and Ilori
Adekunle Sunday (Akure). “The remaining 16 suspects are drawn from
various commercial banks who were found to have
conspired with the CBN executives to swing the
heist. “All the suspects who are currently in the custody
of the EFCC are now ruing the day they literally
allowed greed and craze for materialism to becloud
their sense of judgment and responsibility, when
they elected to help themselves to tons of defaced
Naira notes. “ Instead of carrying out the statutory instruction to
destroy the currency, they substituted it with
newspapers neatly cut to Naira sizes and
proceeded to recycle the defaced and mutilated
currency. “The fraud is partly to blame for the failure of
government monetary policy over the years as
currency mop-up exercises by the apex bank
failed to check the inflationary pressure on the
economy.” “The lid on the scam, which is widely suspected to
have gone on unchecked for years, was blown on
November 3, 2014 via a petition to the EFCC
alleging that over N6, 575, 549, 370.00 was
cornered and discreetly recycled by light fingered
top executives of the CBN at the Ibadan branch. “The suspects, who were members of the
Briquetting Panel, plotted their way to infamy on
September 8, 2014 while carrying out a Briquetting
exercise at the CBN Branch, Ibadan. “In banking parlance, Briquetting is disintegration
and destruction of counted and audited dirty notes.
By this practice, depositor banks usually take
mutilated notes to the CBN in exchange for fresh
notes equivalent of the amount deposited. “The depositor banks, in this instance, are Zenith
Bank, FCMB, Wema Bank, Access Bank, First Bank,
Skye Bank, Ecobank and Sterling Bank “But while carrying out the assignment, the team
was alleged to have found one of the currency
boxes filled only with old newspapers rather than
20 bundles of N1000 notes. A similar case, according to investigation, had been
discovered on September 22, 2014 when a box
that was supposed to contain N500 notes to the
tune of N5billion was filled with old newspapers. “Unlike in the past, this fraud could not be swept
under the carpet, as a member of the Briquetting
Panel from the Osogbo branch blew the lid on the
illicit deal. “In a statement, the informant stated that the
exercise was designed to last between August 4
and 8, 2014. The 35-year-old, however, stated that
she discovered a strange ‘sight’ while opening the
third box on the second day of the exercise. It was
a discovery that beat her ken. “She added that she confronted the other members
of the panel, including Eye, Head, Briquetting Panel;
Treasury Assistant; Coordinator and Head, Security,
CBN, Ibadan, who all assured her that they would
look into it. “ But she later found out that it was all a ruse. She
said she later found out that Eye not only
maintained sealed lips over the matter but omitted it
from her report. “A five-count charge awaits each of the suspects
