Hello everyone,
I plan on igniting my blogging career in some couple of weeks time and I still somehow need clarifications on some issue.
(1). As regards my social media presence, Is it advisable I buy a Facebook page or I should just start building mine from scratch?
(2). Can I start my facebook page with all these bots like Just to boost it maybe get like 5k fake likes. I understand the fact that it has nothing to do with driving traffic to my page but I just feel like it's some sort of strategy.
(3). Making money ain't the plan for now and I don't have any plan to monetize for now. Does it make sense if my blog isn't monetized or I should ensure it's monetized.
(4). Is there a way I can ensure that my target audience ain't Nigerians?
(5). I plan on understanding SEO perfectly well, should I self study on it or pay someone to help me rank my site.
(6) Does anyone have an idea about how I can get a press card.
I feel like legitimate certification is key and I'll stand out and be able to distinguish myself as a professional.
(7) What plugin do I need to add to my blog if I want page views to be visible to public i.e under each post where an icon showing an eye and figures will be underneath it.

I have never used dream waver before but I think it's a very powerful web IDE but even at that you may still need a server-side language like Node, PHP to create what we call a full working website.
As for publishing your codes to make it available to the world. You need a to pay a hosting company, which will provide your webspace to place your web-files so that it can be accessible by a unique web id/name called a web address. As for the technicalities of it. You need to watch YouTube videos. type "hosting my website ona server".
Thanks so much bro

YES, you're a developer and you can call yourself a wordpress web developer specifically, but that in it self also mean many things because even wordpress development needs coding at times. But fact is you're a developer. A Developer is anyone who is contributing to web advancement in one way or the other whether through programming, designing etc

The actual question should be am "I a programmer"? Technically, No, you're not and to be one you need to learn a programming language. And to become a web programmer specifically you need to learn a web language e.g NodeJs, PHP, ASP etc

My mentor advise is this. put your html and css skill into use, google wordpress theme editing. It requires your HTML and CSS skill heavily, this means you edit already made themes, after you've done this, learn PHP(wordpress is made with PHP) and when you're just good enough, port into building themes from scratch. and if you've become confident enough, port into wordpress plugin development (Also learn MYSQL at this stage) . As a plugin developer, you can call yourself a progtammer and by then you can morph wordpress into anything you like.

Also if coding does not fit your style, learn just UI/UX and develop your HTML and CSS skill and pursue a career in frontend development.

Peace.
Thanks so much bro
it's getting clearer now
just 2 questions bro
Can I develop website from scratch using Dreamweaver?
If yes to the above... After developing it to my taste what will be next if I want to publish it on the web?
i read somewhere that a server will be needed please bro can you please give me a detailed explanation as regards what needs to be done after developing it via Dreamweaver?.
thanks boss

NO. To be called a DEVELOPER, you must be able to develop a website on your own without the use of themes. Also, being an expert in HTML and CSS only qualifies you as a junior DESIGNER and not a DEVELOPER. Yes you can apply for a job. Many companies use wordpress. But nevertheless, do not relent in growing your skills in Coding. You may be needed to write an algorithm to solve a particular task which you may not find it's plugin on both free or premium platforms. Cheers
Thanks bro but am a novice in this seeking for knowledge and am somehow confused..
please I have some questions from what you just said now.
How do I develop a website on my own without using themes?
most times whenever I search on Google, I just get response like developing website from scratch and that I need to learn JS. But I feel like after learning JavaScript on Codecademy how exactly will I get to develop the website from scratch?
and you also talked about me growing my skills in coding. Does that mean learning another programming language?
I hope to hear from you soon boss thank you.

Hello NairaLanders,
Please I need clarity on a very important issue.
Am actually aiming to become a website developer and I started my career with learning HTML and CSS.
And right now am very good with WordPress and I can install themes and even edit theme's to my taste.
But I was told to become a developer I need to know how to code, To my uttermost suprise I discovered that even if I don't have idea about coding I can build a website perfectly well and I don't know the application and usefulness of the HTML and CSS I learnt online since I can build a website without writing any code and I have some couple of questions I need clarity on.

1. Can I call myself a website developer and apply for jobs as a web developer since I can perfectly build website using WordPress?

2. Can any experienced NairaLander who is a website developer just be my mentor?
I promise not to disturb I just need someone who will tell me what to do and also how to become a website developer.
Please I stay in Ondo state and I feel distance can't be a barrier since am determined to Learn
