NSNO:Yes, breastfeeding in the first weeks is painful. As the baby sucks, the womb shrinks and contracts. This causes pain because the womb is not yet healed and sore. It could go on for a longer time if the nipple becomes irritated due to prolonged sucking. Some women experience what is called mastitis. |
