Squere: God bless you Sir. I'm glad we share same view. Sir, I know of two orphanage homes here that the owners sell these children to the highest bidders. I don't know why the govt isn't doing anything regarding this. They sell these children. I mean, Sell. You would be amazed how complicit the govt can be even at this. However, people make governments anyway. Humans are just terrible. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do People Visit Orphanage Homes? by teeteepeejay: 1:17pm On Mar 09, 2025 |
Squere: You have a point. Owners(some) of these motherless babies homes are fraudulent. They open it just for business and to extort the public I love this discussion. It is something that has been bothering for quite a while. Who to help and when to help is quite a dynamic context. As said, many orphanage home owners are in it for business. What assurance to do have that whatever you take there is fully utilized for the needs of the orphans? In a broader context, the logistics, staffs and workers are paid salaries too and they can easily justify some of these things. Just like NGOs too. Now looking at the part of having neighbors around you or people closer to you who need help. It's quite challenging to really understand. You can imagine someone who needs help only when it's time to pay school fees, but you'd see doing omblee or posting "na this one life I get" when they have little change in their pockets which shows a lack of discipline when it comes to savings for rainy days. I personally believe helping random people that I do not know, or do not have an idea how their lives work is a better option. So say, I see a stranger hungry and I get you food (not money). Or someone who needs medical attention and I pay the bills cos you can't (not give you money). Or I know a struggling parent (or single parent) and I choose to pay your child's school fees (one child, not all). Just very random kinda helps and assistance. |

Perfectbeing: A good leader must be able to make a right decision at a right time.
You think if Tinubu had not removed fuel subsidy on his first day he would have been able to remove it again?
You think labour union, oppositions, student union and every other association would have allowed him?
Removing it on the first day took everyone unaware and they must have felt powerless to protest against a President on his first day or first week in office.
Fuel subsidy had to go and the time it went was the best time.
Look at common tax bill that have been dragging on for more than 4 months now. We are not talking about one thing. Fuel subsidy is just one of many reforms. I am totally in support of the fuel subsidy removal. Read what I wrote again. |

It's by training them in the Word of God.
Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
God bless. The same word of God the Pope is using to promote homosexuality? |
Romance › Re: "I'm Crushing On A Girl Who Shops At My Mom's Store But There's A Problem" by teeteepeejay: 8:02am On Feb 23, 2025 |
annolomy: There's this girl who frequently comes to my mom's store to buy foodstuffs and snacks. Over time, I've developed a crush on her, but I'm struggling with how to express my feelings and start a conversation with her.
The challenge is that she always seems busy. She's a tailoring apprentice, so she’s often in a hurry and might not have time to stop and chat.
To be honest, I do have a girlfriend, but her behavior has been questionable. I have a strong feeling that she has a side boyfriend in school, and I don’t want to invest all my emotions in her only to end up disappointed.
So, I need some advice. How can I get closer to this girl I'm crushing on and make her notice my interest? Also, if there’s a way to get her contact without making things awkward, I’d really appreciate it. Whenever she comes around, ensure she doesn't pay for anything and give her double of what she asks for. This way she will notice you. Thank me later when you and your mother's life spoil finish. Phones › Re: Should I Give Out My Phone To A Married Woman? by teeteepeejay: 7:58am On Feb 23, 2025 |
HilsonDick: Dear Elders on Nairaland, I bring you greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and any other God you may believe in. I want to believe you are having a sumptuous weekend. I write to you to seek your wise counsel on a matter I consider very delicate and sensitive. I have a neighbor, a woman with five kids, we come from same State and we even share same tribe. We've been neighbors for almost four years. This woman has being asking me for my second phone(a torchlight itel phone) I bought this phone 10months ago at 10k. This woman's android phone was allegedly stolen right in her house and since then she hasn't been able to get another one. Though she was able to get a fairly used torchlight phone which was in a bad condition at the time of buying it( no battery, can't charge directly except desktop, rubber band used in holding it). Herself & her husband are financially disadvantaged people just like myself. Most times, they starve. I feel for the innocent malnourished kids who are always looking weak, pale & angry. Her husband barbs in wuse 2, Abuja. He has two wives and 8 children. He sleeps right in his barber's shop at wuse & only comes home on weekends. If he needs to speak with his wife and kids, he would call through other neighbors lines. I feel really ashamed on their behalf cos I don't know how much it takes to get a torchlight phone at least. This woman has being on my neck to dash her my phone but I keep telling her to be patient. But in my mind, I keep asking myself why she keeps disturbing me when she has a husband. My fear is that, her husband and I don't really get along. In fact, whenever he sees me together with his wife, his countenances change. I've noticed this, but since I have no ulterior or sinister motive behind my friendliness with his wife, I have no fear. The couple are stark illiterates & can't even communicate coherently in pidgin English so the way they reason things can be quite different from some of us. I have had very terrible experiences with married woman & their husbands & I don't want a repeat of such again. Wisdom is necessary here. Elders, it's over to you, now. What should I do?. It's not like I don't need to continue using my torchlight phone. I have three lines. My Android phone is dual SIM and the torchlight phone houses my Airtel SIM which I receive my bank alerts on. If I give the phone out, I will have to drop the SIM and be getting bank alerts via email. I can still carryout transactions via the bank mobile app. Naturally, I hate to see people being in Need. It breaks my heart if I can't help. If I have, I must help cos it gives me joy to do so. But when I do have, nobody helps me. Help is rare to find these days. Only ladies get helped by men. Man no dey help man. It was just yesterday after 5yrs that someone( a stranger dashed me #1, 500 to survive). No one ever helps. The money finished same yesterday.
Mods: dragnet, puskin, honsule Must people come here to ask stupid questions every time? She is married. Her husband doesn't like your closeness to his wife. Stop white washing yourself please. You will find what you seek which is doom. FUKCING STAY AWAY FROM ANOTHER MAN'S WIFE |

Politics › Re: Na PBAT Wey Wan Do Reform I Blame. by teeteepeejay: 7:34pm On Feb 21, 2025 |
Perfectbeing: He should have followed the populist line. It's simple. Just ask Cardoso to issue N20trn in ways and means. Mop up lower denominations of the currency and issue 5k, 10k, and 20k notes.
Leave the interest rate and blast the money on fuel subsidy. Ask JP Morgan for more funds, and use NLNG as collateral to defend the Naira, sell more oil in the futures market. Maintain the fuel price and FX rate. If the black market hits N4,000, let it be so as long as the official rate is N500. If we default on payment of our loan obligations, let everyone face the consequences. Tell NNPC to provide 6 months of fuel supply stock and manage 6 months of scarcity and fuel queues.
Burn the reserves, nobody cares, let imports be scare, there is enough Naira to pay any amount for goods. Issue another ways and means and increase minimum wage. There is no need for any tax reform. Just continue to pump Naira at any cost into the economy. Redenominate the currency in 2026 like Ghana and remove 2 Zeros before the elections.
Check out after 8 years for the next person. No! We won't because of the feelings of stupid people endure such stupidity. They will adjust. They already are. Too many reforms at a go is a killer tho and I truly feel for the most hit in this trying times. |
