Bobloco: The excitement and euphoria of being sworn in as Nigeria's president overtook Tinubu’s reasoning, which led him to make that thoughtless statement: 'subsidy is gone.'
That thoughtless statement, followed by the floating of the naira, brought untold hardships on Nigerians, and this country will never recover from it.
Subsidy removal was supposed to be a gradual process, ensuring first that our refineries were operational and implementing measures to mitigate its effects on Nigerians.
There was no justification for the price of petrol to rise from below ₦200 to over ₦1,350 per liter in such a short time.
It was pure wickedness and draconian by the Tinubu regime in the way it handled the subsidy removal and floating of the naira.
If Dangote Refinery and other refineries were operational before the subsidy removal, the price of petrol wouldn't have gone beyond ₦400 per liter, and transportation costs, food prices, goods, and services wouldn’t have skyrocketed to the extent that they have Lamentations. Romance › Re: "She Slept With His Best Friend When He Went For Surgery" by teeteepeejay: 10:18am On Mar 12, 2025 |
cutecommend: I met this guy at a mall in Lagos. We exchanged numbers and began to talk. Within a month, we saw ourselves thrice, he wooed me and I agreed immediately. He is the best thing on this planet. He has been very supportive, caring and assists me with things pertaining to my Masters program in Sociology. We have now dated for 3 years and he has met my parents, seeking for my hand in marriage. I know his parents & siblings, he also knows mine too. I also know his best friend and he knows mine too. It happened a lump started growing on his shoulder and from what the doctor said, it needed a surgery. He was booked for the appointment and the surgery was done. He stayed in the hospital for 3 weeks. I visited him four times each of the week, but I made a mistake. One night his best friend came around to know more about his situation. We gisted so long that it became late. I agreed he stayed because of security reasons, and I truly believed nothing will ever happen as I had never cheated on my guy. But unfortunately that night, things happened and we had sex three times. I regretted it so much and cut off from him totally. Our wedding is in two weeks time. Should I open up this secret or cover it up and continue with my marriage?
#fiction. I think you should continue with the marriage. On the wedding day, make sure the friend attends, if possible should be his best man. Then you confess your sins right there and then so you can free yourself of the guilt. Everyone makes mistakes. Useless talk! Fucking comot suicide. Use sniper pls |

Squere: God bless you Sir. I'm glad we share same view. Sir, I know of two orphanage homes here that the owners sell these children to the highest bidders. I don't know why the govt isn't doing anything regarding this. They sell these children. I mean, Sell. You would be amazed how complicit the govt can be even at this. However, people make governments anyway. Humans are just terrible. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do People Visit Orphanage Homes? by teeteepeejay: 1:17pm On Mar 09, 2025 |
Squere: You have a point. Owners(some) of these motherless babies homes are fraudulent. They open it just for business and to extort the public I love this discussion. It is something that has been bothering for quite a while. Who to help and when to help is quite a dynamic context. As said, many orphanage home owners are in it for business. What assurance to do have that whatever you take there is fully utilized for the needs of the orphans? In a broader context, the logistics, staffs and workers are paid salaries too and they can easily justify some of these things. Just like NGOs too. Now looking at the part of having neighbors around you or people closer to you who need help. It's quite challenging to really understand. You can imagine someone who needs help only when it's time to pay school fees, but you'd see doing omblee or posting "na this one life I get" when they have little change in their pockets which shows a lack of discipline when it comes to savings for rainy days. I personally believe helping random people that I do not know, or do not have an idea how their lives work is a better option. So say, I see a stranger hungry and I get you food (not money). Or someone who needs medical attention and I pay the bills cos you can't (not give you money). Or I know a struggling parent (or single parent) and I choose to pay your child's school fees (one child, not all). Just very random kinda helps and assistance. |
