It's not biology bro. It's BioChemical Engr'g. I.e., Industrial processes involving production via microbial actions. Yeast, Bacteria, etc. So, to prepare us for the bulk of the work, we have to be familiarized with some basic principles of governing the actions of micro-organisms; thus, Biology!
