Based on what i could see from your profile pic, you are good looking, so not being on par based on physical attributes is ruled out. There are certain things that should be considered, does he come from a very religious background, is he mature(age wise), do you really know him( his associations,morals etc)it is important you consider these seriously because his attitude ain't normal. U can get rid of dark underarms with the following home made paste.
All you need is a baking soda,lemon or lime and vinegar.
Lime or lemon is known for cleaning and mosturizing the skin
1.get a clean bowl
2.put it 4tbsp of the baking soda
3.cut the lime or lemon into two equal halves..squeeze the juice into the baking soda
4.add 1tbsp of vinegar..then mix to form a paste
apply richly before bathing for 2weeks and ull get a fresh and attractive underarm.
