The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbduGaniyu Ambali, says all students will be screened for the Ebola Virus Disease before entering the campus. Ambali stated this on Monday while unveiling preventive kits worth N1.2 million at the university’s health centre. “The procurement of the anti-Ebola kits is part of the university’s preparedness to tackle the epidemic headlong,” the vice chancellor said. The kits, he said, included face masks, boots, hand gloves, automatic soap dispenser, infrared thermometer and disposable bed spreads. The vice-chancellor commended members of the institution’s Ebola Response Committee for their foresight and prompt response. Ambali, however, charged the university’s health workers to be alert and follow laid down procedures in the case of an outbreak. The university’s Director of Health Services, Dr Mary Ajiboye, who presented the equipment to the vice chancellor, said the kits were for the protection of staff and students. “ The committee would place the hand sanitisers in strategic locations on the campus such as the Senate Building, faculties, walkways and Unilorin FM station,” she said. The President of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) , Dr. Jibril Muhammad has said that medical certificate on the Ebola virus would be demanded from students when schools resume on Sept.22. The NAPPS president said the decision was taken during their meeting on the new resumption date fixed by the federal government, according to report from Daily trust Addressing newsmen he said: “In a situation whereby a parent cannot comply, school authorities will undertake the medical examination to be paid for by the parent at his or her own convenient time,” he said. Urging parents to comply with the directive, he said the measure was in the best interest of all stakeholders in the education sector. He faulted the call by Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) for the extension of the resumption date, describing it as a deliberate attempt to disrupt education in the country. Meanwhile, the Kano State government has faulted the demand for medical certificates from students by the state’s chapter of the association asking the association to discard it. “This is not the agreement reached between the state government and proprietors of private schools. We have not given them the permission to take such measure. We will not agree with the demand at all,” the state Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Abubakar Nuhu Danburam , said. |
I was given a pin by my school Igbinedion University Okada to regularize my jamb. during the process of regularization, I was asked to enter my course of study. Am studying pharmacy but there was no pharmacy in d list of courses that were provided to choose from. Wat could this possibly mean. pls I want to know if someone has or was having this same problem before. Wat do I do? The only pharmacy related course there is medicine. If I choose medicine, will there b any future problems for me? |

JAMB HAS REDUCED 2013 CUT OFF MARK TO 170 I believe those that scored above 170 but below 180 will read this post with lovely smile. There will be no admission for candidates who scored less than 170 in the last Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) following the decision of the Joint Committee on Admission to peg the National cut-off point at 170. However, JAMB said yesterday that results of 16,000 candidates out of the 22,395 candidates earlier withheld on account of examination malpractices have now been released. Registrar and Chief Executive of JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, told journalists in Abuja on Tuesday that the national cut-off points was jacked up from 180 last year to 170 this year to reflect the improvement in the performances of candidates in the last examination. He, however, expressed concern that some states would not be able to fill their quota of university admission in the coming academic year even if the cut off marks was to be reduced to 150. He said he had asked the various degree- awarding institutions to adopt a system of differential cut-off marks in order to bridge the gap between educationally less developed states and the others. The JAMB registrar said the differential cut-off marks for the states which will be lower than the national one were yet to be decided upon by the relevant body, adding that in arriving at a decision, the body would take into consideration how many candidates sat for the examination in such state and the performances of the candidates. Ojerinde explained that in a situation where a particular state presented only 731 candidates for the UME, there was no way such a state could meet its admission quota, even if it was given a differential cut-off marks, adding that “it’s a way of bridging the gap.” He also disclosed that additional 16,000 results out of the 22, 395 earlier declared withheld by JAMB on account of examination malpractice had now been released following the decision of the relevant committee of the board to release the results. He, however, said those whose results are yet to be released will not get any result as the committee had decided that the results be cancelled. Similarly, Ojerinde said 6,000 scripts could not be scanned by the computer following the inability of the students to comply with relevant instructions on shading of the answer sheets. He regretted that parents have been besieging his office seeking for explanation for the non-release of their wards’ results, and warned that parents should not visit the sins of their children on JAMB. According to him, JAMB will now have to charge N25,000 to the production of the answer script of any candidate who insists on seeing it. “This particular script is like an art work and the candidate wants result. You can’t reap where you did not sow, shading the correct column is part of the examination,” Ojerinde said, while producing the script of a candidate. |
TWO THINGS INVOLVED.... *JAMB* In this life, there are 2 tinx involved. Either u re in Nigeria or u are outside Nigeria. If you are outside Nigeria, u are safe. If you are in Nigeria, dere are two things involved. Either you go to skool, or you learn work. If you learn work, you are safe, if you go to school, there are two tinx involved. It's Either you write jamb or u dont write. If u dont write, you are safe, if you write, there are two things involved. It's either you pass or u fail. If u pass you are safe, but if you fail, there are two things involved. It is Either you write again or you dont write nd go nd learn work. If you learn work, you are safe but if you write again, there are two things involved. Either your pass or u fail again. If you pass, you are safe . but if you fail again, there are two things involved. It's either your father chase you from the haus, or u go on your own. If you go on your own, you are safe. If your father pursues you, dere are two things involved. It's either you are frustrated or you continue with ur life. If you can continue with ur life, you are safe. If you are frustrated, there are two things involved. It's either you commit suicide or you commit murder. If you commit suicide u are safe, but if you commit murder, there are two things involved. It's either police arrest you or they shoot at sight. If they arrest you, you are safe but if they shoot you at sight, there are two things involved. It's either u die or u are saved in the hospital. If you are saved in the hospital, you are safe. But if you are dead, there are two things involved. It's either you go to heaven or you go to hell. If you go to heaven, you are safe, but if you go to hell, there is only one thing involved . ......YOUR OWN DON FINISH! |

5 Signs You're Dating A Womanizer It all starts innocently enough. You've just met a man who, at least on the surface, seems to be your dream guy. He's attractive, funny, charming, successful and his smile -- let alone the thought of his caress -- makes you weak in the knees. You go out on a date or two, and he's nothing short of perfect. He treats you like a queen, compliments your sense of style and tells you all of the things that you've been longing to hear from a guy. So how do you know this guy's the real thing and not just some womanizer who's going to disappear after your firstslumber party? While the only way to know for sure is to pass the test of time, here are a few red flags that would definitely indicate your new man's a womanizer: 1. He has a reputation. If your girlfriends have warned you that he uses women and throws them away, you need to listen to them and know he's most likely a womanizer. Granted, there's a small chance that you are the woman who can change him, but even if you do, you'll just wind up spending the rest of your relationship worrying he's going to revert back to his old womanizing ways. It's very likely a guy like this will. 2. He moves fast. Before you've even had a chance to meethis friends and family, he's telling you that you're the woman of his dreams and he's been waiting his whole life just to find you. While this is certainly exciting and thrilling, how could he possibly know that this quickly? It's much more likely that he's just in love with love (best case), or he's just trying to get one thing from you (you know what it is). And this womanizer wants to reach his goal as soon as possible. 3. He's over the top with the romance We all love romantic gestures, whether it be a hand-written poem or a bouquet of flowers delivered to our desks at work, but ifyour guy constantly wants to jet you off to the islands for a romantic weekend or often surprises you with lavish jewelry, then he's most likely had plenty of practice. While you might be thinking that you're just graciously accepting his gifts, to him, these come with expectations on your part. 4. He only has eyes for you… and anything else in a skirt. If you notice that your guy is checking out other women, or worse, flirting with the waitress, hostess, barista, etc., then he's most likely a womanizer. As he's telling you howbeautiful you are and that you're exactly the type of woman for him, he's already thinking about how the woman that just walked by fits the same description. He's not lying -- the womanizer feels this way about every woman that strikes his fancy -- you just happen to be part of the (very populated) crowd. 5. He seems too good to be true. He's just a little too smooth, a little too charming, a little too perfect and that little voice in your head is telling you he's done this before, probably many times over. While you may be tempted to ignore that nagging little voice and head upstairs to his apartment, just know that your instincts are more attuned to the situation than you think. It's likely that as he's telling you over coffee that he has a busy day ahead and can't spend more time with you, you'll be hitting yourself wishing you had listened to your gut last night. |
