NoToPile: What I find amusing in this thread is the notion that all students who attend expensive schools are not disciplined.
There are high end schools whose students know that there are consequences for actions and they wouldn't do such actions because of the consequences.
Well mannered children exist in expensive schools too.
When grooming a child and he/she knows there are no consequences for actions, you are heading for trouble In training that child. fallacy of the highest order. I attended public schools my entire educational career. In my working career, I have had subordinates who attended private schools from kindergarten to university that are the best behaved. I was even laughing at one of my subordinates yesterday that said she didn't know how to speak pidgin. Very hard working, very super mannered girl, u can't even fake getting angry with her and see her reaction. She's that good. I laughed her badly yesterday and told her "u grow for parlour. U no grow for compound". Given that many big men children misbehave (especially the boys), many more take their studies seriously and never give teachers problem. Same with poor men children naa. Some of my classmates in secondary school, even in JSS 1 were smoking weed. |

KosiGee: I don’t support capital punishment. I am strictly against it. I wouldn’t flog any kid. I was flogged mercilessly as a child and as a student. I haven’t seen any benefit of flogging. I have worked with children and vulnerable people. I have been treated badly, called stuffs I wouldn’t type here. I have my way of dealing with things like that and one of them isn’t using such language on the person.
If a child calls me stupid which wouldn’t happen anyway. I am good with children….they are happy when I’m there and sad when I leave or when they leave. I’ll find it a bit strange that he/she used that language, I’ll ask why….yes depending on the mood, I’ll want to know why he/she said that…if it’s such that I’ll have to escalate it, I would.
…Teachers being parents to kids in school environment…perhaps I should’ve used ‘guardians’ but I’m sure you know what I meant. u mean corporal punishment not capital punishment. Capital punishment is killing someone. It's corporal punishment that means flogging |

TOPCRUISE: She should confess. Simple. How come it is only you the monkeys attack and did not attack the other guy. It’s either she carry something sinister along or she has done something or want to do something sinister. Judging from her accent coming from her shouts and screams she must be one of those local dialect hookup girls forming tûsh that the he picked from the street. If only the guy knew she is bad market I remember one time we went to jos zoo. We got to the chimpanzee section and the guard was telling us about them and they were all calm. When one my friend, a lady with big boobs, came and joined us, if u see how one of the chimpanzees jumped with the speed of light, straight towards her boobs. Wow. It was like an American movie scene. The girl sharpaly jumped back. If not for the barb wire, it would have attacked her. Mehn. We just cut short the visit and left immediately. Monkeys are something else. What?! |

Allotrope69: It's not scripts sir. It's for the students to know his scores. He will be told his scores verbally. That's all in your own words "Today we concluded our second Continuous Assessment Test and almost every teacher whose subjects had been written have all marked their scripts. I told this particular student to go round the teachers and get the scores of all His subjects for me" tests were written and scripts marked. They have to be collated and tabulated. Which one is him being told the scores verbally? For 18 subjects. For someone performing as poorly as u claimed, u think he will remember correctly all the scores the teachers tell him? @Allotrope69, reply this |
Travel › Re: Air Peace Flight Fuel Shortage On Air, Pilot Turns Back To Refuel - Dr. Udenwa by thatigboman: 12:19am On Nov 09, 2024 |
elujah1: There are several reasons this may occur, pilot can meet bad weather and for that reason spend more time airborne, or a mechanical failure such as landing gear issues, but not to Deliberately take off with low fuel.
Go and read about the case you just mentioned again. there was a time during Jonathan period that I was travelling from abuja to lagos, we were already taxiing, when the pilot announced that mama peace was on and they were all told to stay on ground. The plane was on and working, we receiving AC and chilling, fuel burning. And we were on the ground for more than 1 hour before the plane flew. Getting to lagos, they refused us to land. Same mama peace issue. The plane hovered and the pilot announced that he's not permitted soon, that he will go to the nearest airport and land land due to no enough fuel. The story was dem say dem say, third party reporting. Lagos-abuja, direct flight, 40 mins at most 1 hr on air, no pilot will leave lagos without enough fuel (and back) to abuja. How long did it fly before announcing it's going back to refuel? What were the circumstances that led to it not having enough fuel to continue the journey? Those questions can't be answered because it's a third party report, which is not even admissible in court. |

Op, I have not read the rest of your story, but on the part of you telling the child to round the teachers and collect his scripts is totally wrong. The proprietress is right on that. A pupil is not the one that will go round and collect his scripts, more so, a poor performing pupil. What if collects them and alter them? Or even burn them completely? Even in universities, u sit for courses that are across several departments and faculties, u dont go to anyone to collect your script and submit to your department. When results come out, just go to department's board and check your scores. |

elujah1: I doubt this story, a pilot has a life and family too, except he plan suicide, no pilot will attempt to fly without enough fuel. that's why the pilot went back to refuel. Is this the 1st time u have heard of plane not enough to reach it's destination? There was a time a pilot landed on lagos-abeokuta expressway because of no enough fuel. International flights, some even refuel on air. |

Is there any other country in the world that has an agency for their people in diaspora?
Besides Badenoch has never claimed to be Nigerian. I doubt she has a Nigerian passport so what's the basis of reaching out to her if not to chase clout and a thin line of bigotry?
Did she also reach out to all other Nigerians born in UK or that privilege is reserved for Badenoch what's the work of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigerian ambassadors abroad, Nigerian embassies and Nigerian High Commissions? The agency only reach out to do with to do people abroad with Nigerian roots. Those guys abroad know their roots. When saka visited his hood in lagos, it wasn't on invitation of that agency. Nigerians abroad coma back home daily and go back, not on invitation of that agency. When Kemi the leader of the Conservative Party wants to come home, she will on her volition and not because abike dabiri reached out to her. |

OgaTheTop2: Your airport experience is a big lie! In all my years of traveling to Nigeria I have never witnessed, seen or experienced travelers slipping cash to officers to skip the line. So many airport lies against our custom officers are so terrible...Omo, naija people! chairman wetin u dey talk? About 5 years ago when I travelled to UK for holidays and came back in abuja. All travellers were forced by customs to go into a room and open their bags. I told them "nothing to declare" and they say "my friend, go in there and open your bags". Opened, just clothes and shoes and they say I should give them money. From N5,000 when ended at 2k. When I travelled and came back 2 years ago abuja airport, surprisingly customs passed me without anything, and I was so happy. Just for NDLEA standing there where my bag was scanned to stop me and told me though they knew I was clean but I had to drop something for them else they would open my bags and waste me. Gave them 3k. |
