As of last year, the number of active gsm subscribers was estimated at 219m. Can they have a line without the NIN? How will the line be activated? These are the people from 18yrs (adult) and above. We have millions who are below this age bracket. Not everyone in the villages have NIN or educated enough to have one

You don't have to be 18 to register for NIN, they took it to my son's primary school in 2021 and they registered all of them in Ibadan.

You know is just my personal opinion and is not the fact. Getting the correct statistics in that country Is hard. Everything is being manipulated for political gain. E.g they use the census to allocate wards in local government. I remember Ilawe and ogotun in Ekiti, they are of the same size physically and population wise, but Ilawe used to have one maverick politician then, Olowoporoku, he influenced Ilawe population so high during 1992 census, Ilawe had 7 wards and Ogotun 2 wards. Imagine how those northern desert state always inflate their population to get more wards, local governments and more allocations.

I talked about Census here not NIN registration which you can only do once, because of biometric compliances and that Is why NIN figures will never catch up with the Census figure, I hope you understand my narration now?

If after all the enrollment surge that was occasioned by NIN-SIM linkage that even foreigners from Niger, Chad, Benin were registering as Nigerians, total figure is a paltry 118m not even close to half of our projected 250m population, then it's obvious that we might not even be up to 200m in the final run.

As at the last count, INEC database had 94m Nigerians and even that still contains foreigners.

So how is the 250m claim justified in the midst of these figures?

You can't still compare the suffering and level of underdevelopment in Burkina faso to Nigeria. Their GDP is 20 Billons, while ordinary lagos GDP is 250Billons. Ordinary Owerri is more developed than Ouagadougou. Check it yourself.
