Hello everyone, pls I need your advice. My husband and I plan to go study in Fall 2017 in the US. We both have our admission letter and we also both got partial scholarship. We are attending the same school in New Jersey. so this means that we will both be applying for F1 VISA INDIVIDUALLY and not F1 and F2 visa. What do you advice we do? shd one person apply for F1 while the other apply for F2? or shd we both apply for F1? Do we apply together for F1? or shd we apply individually? What are our chances of getting student visa since we are both going to study.

Also I had my son 1yr and 4 moths ago in the us. My husband and I did NOT take medicare or is it medicade it is called. We pay monthly for my son bill since we gave birth to him but for the last 5 -6 months we have not been able to meet up monthly payment as I lost my job and my husband office has not been consistent with salary. What are our chances as we plan to go to the us embassy to apply for f1?

I have called the hospital several times to ask for a smaller payment plan as I cant meet the previous naymore but they keep saying that they cant help with a smaller fee.

Hi everyone, Nice thread. Its a pity I found this thread after i have given birth in the US with little or no information. So here goes my story.

I was 8 months pregnant when I went to the embassy with my husband. We did not have the cash to pay for huopital bills and doctors bill upfront so we applied for a b1b2 but they did not know i was pregnant becos i was the type of pregnant woman that you wont know if i am pregnant unless you see my tummy and thanks to their counter at the embassy the did not see it. They did not ask and I did not mention. I gave birth with a very high bill about $12,000 in total in Baltimore. I did NOT get medicare or medicade (i dont know what it is called).

I gave birth in 2015, I was given a payment plan and I started paying monthly but for the past 5 -6 months i have not been able to meet up monthly payment as I lost my job and my husband office has not been consistent with salary. I have called the hospital several times to ask for a smaller payment plan as I cant meet the previous naymore but they keep saying that they cant help with a smaller fee.

With all these happenings, we both were fortunate to get a scholarship to study abroad with admission etc. We want to take it up because since things arent working here maybe things might be better for us abroad. What do you advise? I hope we have not blown away my chances at the embassy? shd we ignore the scholarship and hope for greener pastures and stay put and rough it in this tight season?

Thanks awaiting a prompt response from those with the right info.

Consider for a moment that it might be difficult for both of you to get a visa if you apply together. It's either you apply first or your husband. F1-F1 is okay if you plan to get a job and probably remain in the United States after your studies. cheesy
Thanks DeeTus. I do appreciate your input. Pls shed more light on either of us applying first then the other second. Our admission states Fall 2017.Are you advising that one of us defer our admission for next year while the other applies now for fall. or do either of us go first to the embassy then if by God's grace we get the visa then the other person can apply afterwards for the same fall session.
