I'm planning to travel to the State for a postdoc fellowship, and I'm made to understand that I'm to apply for a J1 visa. I see that there are some processing fees I need to pay for such as, SEVIS and application fee. Aside from this, are there other fees one need to pay for? Thanks

Hello for your to be eligible for a talent passport, you have to get the following requirements,
* Gross annual pay of at least twice the statutory national minimum wage (SMIC), i.e. €41,933 as of May 1, 2023.


Yeah, minimum should be that amount for the passeport talent visa.


* A permanent employment contract or a fixed-term employment contract for at least three months with an employer established in France.


Yeah they are established in France.



* A qualification equivalent to a master’s degree obtained in France.


I have a PhD (though not from France) and my employer asked me to apply for passeport talent visa. So, I don't think it's a must.


if you meet the requirement for 1 and 2, item 3 might be an issue for you if you don't have a degree certificate obtained in France which is a most.

so you will need to apply for another type of passport.

I am a student in France and i know for someone to get a talent passport you most have the 3 requirements especially item 3

no, it was only the mail I received on the day I applied that my application have been sent to the SA high commission in abuja..
no other text or mail since then again.

3 6 months bank statement
4 letter of self introduction and intention
5 Recommendation letter from your employer
6 2 photocopies of Intl Passport data page
7 copy of your yellow fever card
8 hotel booking
9 flight booking
10 visa fee (34,640)

OK thanks bro. I actually submitted my visa application since last week Thursday in vfs office in abuja, and no reply till today..
I just pray and hope they give me the visa

You needed to add the scholarship letter and all other documents related to that scholarship.

You also need to add a breakdown of the cost of the trip..cost of ticket, hotel, transport and feeding etc.

Doing that will give you an idea about the cost of the trip.

You also need a letter from your daddy permitting you to use and spend the money in that account.

I think you need the letter of admission duly stamped by the school and whatever proof that states the Taiwan embassy closure and redirecting you to the south african office as well as your letter of sponsorship from your dad. if you can also provide your personal bank statement and put it all in prayers... there's nothing God cannot do if your reason for traveling is genuine.... just be honest in your self introdictory letter

Did you properly state your reason for going and the situation around your finances in your letter of self-introduction?

Please don't waste your money applying for visa until you can afford it yourself because that is what gives you strong tie to Nigeria.

As a grown up adult you can't present your father's bank account for tourist visa application, this is not study or medical treatment trip.

The question is this..why are you in a hurry to travel to SA as a tourist when you can't afford it?

You just started working not even for 6months, not paid any salary yet and you want to take a holiday to SA?

Hi everyone! I applied for SA visitor visa in Abj on the 24th july and it was processed in eight days but I was denied and the reason was insufficient funds. I actually used my Dads bank statement which has 400k plus. Pls what minimum balance should one have in the account? Im going to SA for another visa interview which will b scheduled this month ending. Ur kind response will b appreciated
