A review about The Wolf of Wall Street. grin grin
Lol, this just reminded of another critic who gave the Joker low scores because the jokes were not funny. cheesy

crazy people. They were expecting a batman movie to have guardians of the galaxy level of humor.

I love the M.C.U and all, but I'll admit that it has really fried some people's brains.
Exactly. They want every movie to be funny.

Like one critic gave The Devil All the Time rotten score because she wanted Tom Holland to be like spiderman.

Sometimes you wonder if these critics are sane before they send their write up

#TheBatman Opening Weekend Numbers
From the look of things, if The Batman does not have strong legs this weekend, it won't make $1bn.

So, my $800m prediction is still intact. If this movie has strong legs, it should make $800m-$950m+ and china will then assist to push it to $1bn.

Imo, this movie needs at least $100/$150m from China to hit the $1bn mark

*fingers crossed*

The Batman (2022)

Very aesthetically pleasing; granted, the graininess is a bit unconventional, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

The fight scenes are well-crafted and enjoyable to watch. There are no large-scale CGI battles, just fabulously choreographed combats, and a glorious car chase scene. The sound effects are also impressive; you can feel the impact of every punch.

The mood is noir-esque, like I imagined. I liked how they took a more detective approach and didn't necessarily hold the viewer's hand in terms of clues and exposition. The film as a whole is a gritty and grimy portrayal of how a modern-day Riddler would operate, and Paul Dano plays him superbly.

The pacing is choppy, and the three-hour runtime is a bit excessive. Some scenes got way too much attention, while others didn't. In my opinion, the third act's second half could have been handled more gracefully.

 Positives:
• Visually pleasing
• Noir mystery
• Impressive action sequences.
• Worldbuilding.
• Commendable performances, with special shout-out to Collin Farrell.
•The direction is very competent and professional.
• The soundtrack slaps
• Humour.

 Negatives
• Pacing and length issues.
• Robert Pattinson not given room for variety. His performance is relatively one-dimensional. It works for the film and the story it was trying to tell, but I was expecting something more profound, given his talent.

Overall, I liked it, but I think my expectations were a little too high. "The Dark Knight (2008)" remains the undisputed leader for the time being, with this one falling somewhere between #4 and #10. I'll have to watch it again to fully grasp bits I may have missed.
Humour? Nice to know

Meanwhile, some useless MCU critics were down voting this movie for lack of humour?

Must everything be a joke to these people? This is why I don't take RT critics seriously

And exactly, so we can all go to bed with the agreement that whatever disappointment you have for the Batman is in your head, nothing but an emotional one cos the standard Hollywood analysis defies it.

Funny, people think they can just sit down in the comfort of their beds, concieve ideals and expect the whole world to accept it as truth.

Sweetheart, between your emotionally concieved ideal and the Hollywood standard system, which one should people accept.

Bro, whether you like it or not, in line with the standard system of Hollywood, The Batman with an $800M BO gross is a success. Have that at the back of your mind, never forget. It doesn't matter what you think, your opinion is useless here because the system calls the shot not you. The system decides why and how a movie should be successful, not you. Tick Tock.

Xavier Out

You are actually right.

I doubt any gritty 3 hours movie that isn't hinge on a universe will even make up to $800m in this current climes.

By my calculations, the batman should be on $200m profit (excluding other expenses) which is not bad.

If we are to factor in other expenses, then the profit should be about < or = $100m

It doesn't work that way. Only about 60% of the box office returns goes back to WB. It's even lower for international box office.
It is actually 50% that goes back to the studio for domestic, and 40%-50% for international markets.

China is 25%

with a production budget of 200m plus another 200+ in aggressive marketing, anything less than a billion is a failure.

I've seen several people compare it to Se7en, which is a high praise but won't do it any favours in the BO. Se7en is a masterpiece but a slow burn.
Bros, where did you get $200m in marketing?

Anyways, the production budget according to variety and deadline is now at $200m.

So, if we use the mulitplier X2.5, it needs $500m to be in profit.

I will use a multiplier of x3, meaning, it needs at least $600m to make profit.

Anything less than 1 bill, not so cool...
If it makes $800m, that's about $400m-$500m in profit o based on the production budget

In this case, the runtime doesn't matter as long as the movie is good.

I'm thinking $1.2bn if not $1.5bn BO.

Scarjo might be the better actor but Gal is the bigger draw currently...
And you're very correct.

As long as Gal took the WW mantle, she's be the bigger draw though Scarjo is the better actress.

Even as at now, people are still talking about Gal's WW while no one is talking about Black widow.

As long as Gal's WW is still being talked about, she'll have that edge over Scarjo.

Batfleck erased

Meanwhile Snyderbots are tearing their pants over this film cheesy

The more reason why I need Batgirl to be successful. I need it to break that HBO Max viewership record held by Mortal Kombat...

The tears and cursing it will cause these toxic Snyderbots will be beautiful to watch

Remember they are the ones that started the "No one cares about Peacemaker" nonsense only for it to become the biggest streaming show as at last month cheesy
This does not erase Batfleck o. We don't even know the content of the Batgirl or Flash film. I don't know why some people on Twitter think Batfleck will get erased.

I don't mind having Batflect, Keaton and Pattison batman.

We have to watch as things unfold

See this kind marketing na.....

Na this one wan flop when na the Dark Knight.

I trust China to come true. First big Hollywood blockbuster arriving for the year. Let's say $270-300mn cume in Middle Kingdom. 400mn domestic. That gives us about $700mn dollars already. Overseas market should make up the rest to stack up to a billion. grin cool
