Science/TechnologySo, How Can Nigerians Tap Into AI Opportunities? by therajah(op): 3:07am On Jul 06
AI is not only for programmers or tech companies. Almost anyone can benefit if they're willing to learn.

1. Learn one AI skill.
You don't have to become an AI expert overnight. Start with prompt engineering, AI content creation, data analysis, coding, or machine learning. Learn one skill and improve with practice.

2. Use AI in your current job or business.
If you're a student, teacher, lawyer, accountant, marketer, writer, designer, or entrepreneur, AI can help you save time, increase productivity, and improve the quality of your work.

3. Solve Nigerian problems.
Instead of copying foreign ideas, build AI solutions for challenges in agriculture, healthcare, education, transportation, security, and small businesses. Local problems create local business opportunities.

4. Earn online.
Many companies now pay freelancers to help with AI-related tasks such as content writing, research, coding, automation, chatbot development, and digital marketing. You can work remotely and earn in foreign currency.

5. Keep learning.
AI is changing very fast. Those who keep learning and adapting will have an advantage over those who ignore it.

My advice to young Nigerians is simple: don't wait until AI becomes mainstream before you pay attention. Start learning now, experiment with AI tools, and look for ways to use them to solve problems. The biggest opportunities often go to those who prepare early.

Do you think AI will create more jobs in Nigeria than it replaces? Let's hear your thoughts.

[TESTIMONY] 12 Months of Waiting, 300+ Applications: How God Turned My Diaspora Struggle Into a Permanent Blessing!
Good day, my fellow Nairalanders,

I am writing this post today to encourage someone out there who might be on the verge of giving up. Whether you are back home in Nigeria or navigating the diaspora space, please hold on. God is still in the business of changing stories.

A year ago, I was hit with the unexpected. Due to company restructuring, my contract was abruptly terminated. For those of you in the diaspora, you know how terrifying this can be; the bills don't stop, the rent doesn't wait, and the pressure can be absolutely suffocating.

I didn't think the search would take long, but days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. For 12 solid months, I was jobless.

I sent out close to 300 job applications. I got some interviews and while answering questions, the interviewers kept saying 'AWESOME! FANTASTIC!' BUT I faced rejections upon rejections. I had to go check the meaning of awesome.

There were days of heavy anxiety and silent tears.

But in the midst of the silence and the dry season, I made a choice: I refused to give up, and I held onto God. I kept praying, fasting, and trusting His promises even when my bank account and the rejection emails were telling me a different story.

The Breakthrough.
Just when it felt like I was hitting a brick wall, the God of awesome wonders stepped in. I didn't just get another temporary contract; God blessed me with a permanent, full-time role loaded with amazing benefits!

Looking back, I realize that the delay wasn't a denial. God was preparing a table for me that no man could pull down. Truly, what God cannot do does not exist! He is indeed good.

Word of Encouragement for You Today
If you are reading this and you are currently in a waiting season, whether you are looking for a job, a visa breakthrough, marriage, healing, or fruit of the womb, please do not lose hope.

When you have done all you can do humanly, just stand. Keep applying, keep pushing, and most importantly, keep praying. Your current situation is just a chapter in your book, not the final destination.

Galatians 6:9

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."

Isaiah 40:31

"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

Philippians 4:19

"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

If He did it for me after 300 rejections and 365 days of waiting, He will surely do it for you. Your testimony is next!

Please join me in thanking this Great God!

PoliticsCan This Be Emulated In Nigeria by therajah(op): 2:12pm On Aug 20, 2025
In Japan, an unusual situation unfolded when the toll system malfunctioned for 38 hours, allowing drivers to pass toll booths without paying. But instead of exploiting the glitch, people demonstrated remarkable honesty and responsibility.

It’s not always easy to get people to pay for something after they’ve already extracted the benefits from it and returned home, Authorities later asked drivers to settle their tolls online, and more than 24,000 individuals voluntarily did so, despite having the chance to avoid payment. This collective act of integrity highlighted the deeply rooted values of trust and accountability in Japanese society.

The incident not only showcased the efficiency of the system but also reflected the strength of the people’s character. Choosing to fulfill obligations without enforcement is a powerful reminder that honesty matters and that doing the right thing often comes from within.

This mindset of integrity in Nigeria will make Nigeria great

So can we say that altering a passport is the same as destroying one?

If the passport the woman tore up was her own personal passport would it be a crime?
I doubt so!

So I guess at best she is guilty of destroying another person's property/item.

Now is that an offence liable for a jail term?
A passport remains the exclusive property of the government. Even if it is 'your own', you can't destroy it..it is a crime. That's why it can be seized and withdrawn.
Same thing goes with 'do not kill'.. it's a sin to take one's life.
