midnighter: Who is calling who ignorant? I did not use the word "ignorant" anywhere in my post. Saying that people were manipulated by wrong information is not calling them "ignorant". So you yourself are completely wrong
Yes, immigration policy was getting terrible and now, they will get even crazier immigrants from countries like Nigeria, Pakistan and Bangladesh who will replace all those Romanians and Bulgarians that they hate so much. The kids over there dont like slogging away in hot kitchens, washing toilets or waking up at the crack of dawn to go and work on construction sites so they will have to import people to be doing it
EU directives are implemented by governments! They can choose how they want to enforce them. The fault is with the government for messing local man up and selling them down the river and they will probably still continue to do that unless they have a huge overhaul of the political system
Now they arent even going to leave by next week so when are they going to leave? The whole thing is a total disaster I don't think I'm wrong. saying that they were deluded into voting for brexit, is same as them being ignorant in their voting decision. that's why I cited immigration, lack of economic competition and EU single market as some of the things that affected them directly, and informed their decision. Seem like you've little knowledge on some of what necessitated brexit, and how strongly binding EU diktats are. Sovereignty of EU member states is just a mirage. Other European country immigrants were just a side issue. immigrants from Muslim countries were one of the major reason why there were revolt against EU, because of Angela Merkel's stupidity in assimilating millions of immigrants from those country, and EU mandatory policy for other member states to follow suit or face sanction. A lot of those immigrants turned out to be terrorist sleeper cell who struck terror in the mind of UK citizens. that was one of the live issue that precipitated brexit. So your claim on UK turning to them as replacement for EU immigrants is false. |

budaatum: That's not true! There are many MPs who support brexit but not this deal. Besides, how can they possibly pass a bill with zero committee scrutiny? I think you got me wrong. I'm talking about a popular maxim from Theresa may, which says no deal is better than bad deal. |

midnighter: They sacrificed it because they didnt offer that referendum to help the country, they offered it to mess up the Eurosceptics in the cabinet who were grumbling ... they thought they would win but they didnt calculate that most people in poor cities outside of London were angry with them and wanted revenge for years of neglect by government
They had no right to offer that referendum when EU policy takes years to study, negotiate and understand and when they didnt even have any plans on how to implement it.
Most of those brexiteer people voted on wrong information even though they had legitimate concerns. See how disorganised the whole thing is, its even beginning to resemble Nigeria In as much as you are correct to an extent. I think you're largely wrong. David Cameron who presided over the referendum was voted on the promise to conduct the referendum due to whole-sale disaffection over EU bureaucracy and imprudent immigration policy. The other place you got it wrong is saying they voted out of ignorance. there's nothing ignorant about refusing to welcome people who are looking for the slightest opportunity to slit your throat or bomb you, nor is there anything ignorant about rejecting lack of economic competition, and being constrained by the single market, just to mention but a few. Brexisteers are people who are tired of the status quo and simply want to control their future. tagging them ignorant is akin to democrats in the US calling trump supporters deplorable. It simply won't fly, Miss. |

midnighter: Who happen to constitute almost half of the population
They are just sacrificing the country to save their party and their own interests In every political matter, there must be dissidents. that's why the matter was subjected to a referendum, and the brexisteers came out victorious with majority. So, I don't see anybody sacrificing anything to save party or interest. they're only carrying out the mandate given to them by the people who happen to be in the majority. |

midnighter: Thats not the point. This whole thing is a political quagmire...she shouldnt make that kind of statement when most people cant handle such information but that's exactly what boris Johnson is saying. the only people who can't handle it are those against brexit. |

marvelous000: I feel like catching that guy that said Obama is better than trump, and bludgeon sense into his empty skull we mercifully brand brain. I'm sorry if I loose me cool, but isn't it the same heap of otiosity(Obama) that conflagrated already parlous situation in Africa, with his misadventure in Libya which culminated into arm proliferation that bolstered his fellow Wahhabi terrorist brothers to maim and destroy like never seen in the annals of Africa. Is it not the same Obama that precluded us from buying arms to defend ourselves, after arming his Wahhabi brothers(boko haram et al) to the teeth. Is it not the same Obama that enabled ISIS which almost annihilated yazidis and others, just because he want to oust one man from power. Is it not the same Obama that was trying to shove his perverted concupiscent ideal down our throat, with concession as the only proviso to relief from his terrorism unleashed on us all I feel debased knowing that he's of African origin, because he's(him and his democratic cohorts) nothing but a blight to Africa and the world at large.
Those who know my antecedent on here; know that I'm stolidly indifferent to US internal affairs, because I was naive as to how world politics is intertwined, but after seeing Obama's debacle, I began to introspect and retract my stand(and swore never to allow my complacency see his kind to power) . I've come to understand that the left in the US are the very negation of world peace and health. Their policies is debilitating to not only africa which is my chief interest, but the world at large. I know the 'right' have got it own short comings, but trump have proven to be a protagonist of world peace and world growth, and his presidency is benison to African and African-americans.
It behoves on us to afford him the plaudits he deserves, not because we agree with him on everything, but because he's anti establishment and a counteract to the America we all dislike. All my Russian comrades should chew on the thought why Putin prefer him to that crooked Hillary. I mean the white witch.
Seleh well put

midnighter: Lol "no deal is better than a bad deal" was the most stupid thing they could have said, even if it may be true. Theresa may is now being lampooned for saying it...it was too divisive a statement to make considering how volatile the situation is
You are correct about all those things, I was just saying that if the deal is to go through, its all the mouth they have been making over the past 6 months that will do it
Its a Tory dilemma but its strange to see Tories openly opposing their leader; they are usually more united. Labour is usually more rowdy
Well those examples are not the same, its possible to still be in Europe and not be in the EU. The problem is how to leave. Nigeria can still leave ECOWAS if they so choose, but the land will still be in Africa don't you think that it is better to have no deal, than have a bad deal? |

doitforyou: No matter how damaged Trump is, it will be political suicide for the GOP to have a challenger for Trump. Trump has a yuuge approval ratings with the base and a primary before the general elections will damage Trump further. So far the GOP is doing well in securing a second term victory. All the GOP needs to do is 1. Trump needs to keep doing Trump, his base loves it. 2. Depress the turn out of the Democratic Party. you know your onions. |
