AndroBlaze:
Some of you are just arguing for the sake of arguing.

Profit is not the only measure of value investors look at, loss making firms have always been highly coveted by them as long as they believe they will see potential and growth opportunities one day.

Practically all the recent tech giants, starting from Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and so on were all loss making for years before turning profits. That never stopped their owners from amassing serious wealth as investors continued to pour money in speculating on the value of those companies.

Anyway, lets talk about the man of the moment, Elon Musk (the bloody African) has been among top 10 richest men for quite a while, but it was always his Tesla shares that formed the majority of his wealth. Look at the chart below to see when Tesla started making profit.( i.e. it took more than 7 years).

Profit is not (and has not been for quite a long time) the only measure that investors use to ascribe value, simple.
Musk has been a millionaire since the 90s. From his PayPal days.. PayPal was sold for $1.4b in 2002, Musk made over $150m from that deal as the largest shareholder. And his wealth has been rising since then.. So, without Tesla Musk would still be a billionaire..

But we can't say the same for Bezoz. without Amazon Bezoz would have been a normal guy..

I still stand on my point that Amazon has been profitable for a long time... Small margins of profit, but it was profit still.. That small margin was too large when converted to cash, making it easier for investors to keep investing.

Whatsapp is not profitable yet, but because of the success of Facebook, Instagram, etc it is easier for investors to see how it can become profitable.

When Quora wasn't making money, investors threatened to pull out..

My point is that you can't sustain a non profitable business for long, especially a business as big as Amazon. Investors would get tired and move.

just imagine what Amazon worker is saying..it's a shame that u don't even know Ur company.
Majority of Amazon profits comes from AWS and advertising.theeir e-commerce became profitable after years of running at a loss

AWS is what is feeding Amazon e-commerce

Note: revenue isn't profit
Everybody knows revenue is not profit.
Let me ask you this, where did Amazon get the money they used in setting up their cloud infrastructure? If you say investors, how would they convince the investors when they couldn't turn profit for 20 years?

Also, what made Jeff Bezoz a billionaire?

Y'all just read without understanding. Amazon e-commerce has been profitable for a long time. Maybe the profit margin is minimal because of the nature of the business, but it has been profitable.

Their cloud offerings has a lower running cost, that's why the profit margin there is higher.

It's like a business man that sells richarge card, the profit margin is very small. He needs to sell in large quantities to see huge gains. Now compare this to a car or phone dealer.

This is the same scenario playing out with Amazon.

The guys at Jumia are not just creative in terms of business. They're just pro tech guys, business-wise they're not creative at all..

Africa/Nigeria is an emerging market, many existing successful businesses outside Africa can be copied and replicated here. You'll get that initial buzz and the name, but only creativity will keep you in the market long-run.

Indians are doing the same, copying existing techs and replicating it for the Indian market.

We don't really have creative creators here, or the creative ones are yet to start up something.

Jumia is supposed to be a profitable business if done right. A simple introduction of ads for sellers would increase profit for the brand.

Merchant awareness is poor. Most small business owners don't know they can create a store and sell on Jumia, even the ones that knows don't know how.

A marketplace is not a build and forget business model, it requires constant innovation and creativity. You've copied the blueprint, then what next? How do you go from here?

See the likes of payporte, abeg, konga, where are they now? They just copied the blueprint and build it. But you can only copy what you see, the inner workings of the business you can't copy that. It is left for you to use your creative mind and go from there.

The core platform itself is not profitable, though their third party seller platform is profitable. A lot of their profit comes from their AWS platform.
Amazon e-commerce is profitable, very profitable. It's just the the larger chunk of Amazon's profit comes from their cloud services.

It mostly likely won't.. but you can't complain about episodes you haven't watched like you've watched em.. It's that simple!

Someone watched 3 episodes out of 8 and didn't enjoy it and you expect him to labour on cos he doesn't have other shows to watch or better things to do with his time than keep torturing himself?

Your point no pure bro
Una done come.. I expected him to to say it was endurance watching 1-3 episodes, not 1-7 episodes when he didn't watch 1-7 episodes.

Me dey abandon shows after 2 episodes sef, but e no mean say I go come dey comment on episodes wey I no even watch.. That is my point brother.

I watched the entire season 1 and the first 3 episodes of second season. It was halfway through episode 4 that I decided I couldn't cope anymore. I wasn't enjoying it, but on watching for the love I had for The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I criticize whatever I don't like irrespective of where it's coming from, including the last season of Game of Thrones and the second season of House of Dragon.
You stopped at episode 3, but concluded that episodes 1-7 na endurance test.. You rubbished 4 whole episodes without even getting to see them. This is my point

Una no just like the show, that's all..

There's no endurance anywhere. Y'all just hate the show, and that's fine.

You guys are like attack dogs, any show when them use compare Game of Thrones una done get default hatred for that show. I'm not saying this show is close to half of GOT, but I've noticed these attacks from you guys when someone tries to compare a show to GOT.

The same way some people here just get hatred for Netflix, anything Netflix do doesn't makes sense..

You're bashing a show based on what you heard, and still claiming authority on the matter, does that make any sense?

The same guy that rated Deadpool and Wolverine a 2😂. I don't take his ratings seriously at all. I heard the last episode of TROP was good but it wasn't great in any way shape or form. The only good thing about the season was just Sauron - the rest of the characters are bore-fests galore.
Don't hear, watch.. judge from your views.

The Rings of Power s2 ended on a high note. Kudos to the producers for the improvement from season 1.
Episode 7 is the best episode yet, episode 8 follows it..

Overall the season 2 was a good watch, worth my time invested.

I was a big fan of Miss Raducanu, i went to watch her when she played in England. She was a very good tennis player, Suddenly she just went downhill.

You are absolutely correct she went "woke" and lost focus on tennis playing. It is really sad, but hey! She is a rich girl now, tennis doesn't matter anymore.

Last year she made £12 million without even lifting a tennis bat.
True 😁😁.. She's making dough regardless of her presence in the court.

Hopefully I get to see her play before she retires.

Emma Raducanu became too woke. She made herself a tool for this age woke bs.. I really liked that girl, she just fell off so easy.

Nobody even care about the people in the state. Shouldn't the choice of candidate be based on whom you think would improve the life of the people?

Everybody just fighting for party. My party go win this, my party will win that.

I initially didn't even mention AOT and the original post started from my review of The Rose of Versailles...

But the clôwn brought in AOT and he's always here hating on the show just because he doesn't understand it and it pains him when he sees people analyze it...

Otherwise I have no issues with simply watching for entertainment because I do it for some shows too

Just because you lack media literacy and cannot interprete basic media doesn't mean everyone is like you.

That is why you will call scenes meaningless of course while others with media literacy appreciate them
What is media literacy? Is that a prerequisite for watching/understanding a movie?? 😂😂😂..

Some people just watch movies for entertainment purposes, no be everybody get the time/ability to come dey interpret and re-interpret and deep-interpret every aspect of a show..

Just enjoy your show the way you see it bro. A group of people not wanting a particular type of shows here has nothing to do with their level of media literacy.

Have a blessed Sunday brother

It was obvious to everyone that Enzo was not supposed to be on the pitch. Enzo and Jackson out for Neto and Gui.. Nkunku falls back to 8, game is balanced.

Overall the team played well, na just the subs spoil am..

The strategy emphasizes maximizing profits by focusing on weekend games, with one ticket placed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Each user bets a consistent amount across all three days, ensuring a controlled and disciplined approach. The goal is to win at least one ticket per weekend, which will secure a profit for that week. By limiting bets to one game per day, the strategy helps prevent betting addiction, promotes responsible money management, and reduces potential losses.

This approach treats betting as a business rather than mere gambling, prioritizing profitability over the number of bets placed. Additionally, if no win is achieved during a week, users who paid for that week will not be charged for the following week. This method is designed to achieve long-term success while minimizing risks.

I think you were just out there looking for racism. What is subtle racism ? It's either she was racist or she wasn't.

You probably made up your mind before that incident that you were not gonna take shit from anyone. That was why you reacted the way you did.

You were totally wrong in every way you can look at it. I don't know how you can remedy the situation now, but going forward, please put logic first before emotions in decision making.
