franchasng: Since the end of the 3 year civil war in Nigeria, a Yoruba man, Obasanjo ruled Nigeria from 1976 to 1979.
Another Yoruba man, Abiola won 1992 election which got annuled by an Hausa Head of State, Babangida.
A Yoruba man, Shonekan was appointed by Babangida to act as interim President.
In 1999 when Nigeria wanted to return back to democracy, the most visible politicians were Igbos (Dr Alex Ekwueme, Ogbonnaya Onu, Chuba Okadigbo, etc), one formed the most accepted party then, PDP, he tried to use the platform to become the President, but Nigerians decided to pacify Yorubas for 1992 saga by zoning Presidency to Southwest which helped two Yoruba men, Obasanjo and Olu Falae to become the two major Presidential candidates of the two major parties then, making an Igbo forerunner to step down for Olu Falae, at the end, Obasanjo became President in 1999 to 2007.
Even though it was zoned to Southwest, Buhari still contested to fulfill all righteousness.
Another Yoruba man, Osinbajo became Vice President from 2015 to end in 2023, and here another greedy, corrupt, thieving Yoruba man, Tinubu is warming up to become President from 2023 without considering the plight of other marginalized regions and yet his people are screaming and questioning why Igbos hate Tinubu and why Igbos don't support Yorubas but these heartless, inconsiderate Yorubas pushing Tinubu to the gallows forgot that Igbos massively supported Obasanjo in 1999 and 2003 making some Yorubas to even allege that Obasanjo was born by an Igbo trader who lived in Southwest some decades ago.
Are you Yorubas sincere at all to yourselves? Why are Yorubas of today so greedy, selfish and inhumane that their conscience no longer speaks to them just because they want to lay hands on Nigeria's treasury at all cost to further develop their region to the detriment of other regions?
Is Nigeria a Yoruba nation? Where is the fairness? Where is the equity? Where is the justice and nationhood in all these?
Yorubas always condemn Igbos for asking out, and always join the North sing songs of unity and one Nigeria, please where is the honesty in your chant for one Nigeria if you guys can't shelve your greed for power for once just to allow equity and fairness and then see if others will return the good gesture or not?
We all condemn Fulanis for being power drunk but the truth is, Yorubas are more power desperate than the Fulanis we all condemn.
Imagine if it were to be Igbos that produced Head of State in 1976, Interim President in 1993, President in 1999, Vice President in 2015 and now desperately clamoring to produce another President in 2023 without considering others how Yorubas would fill.
I am sure the whole media will be awash with all manner of unprintable names hurled at Igbos for being power drunk and inconsiderate. But here are Yorubas being so blind, so wicked, so inhumane, so inconsiderate of the plight of Igbos and yet when Igbos demand to secede peacefully so Yorubas and others can run Nigeria as they please, this same Yorubas will start to abuse and insult Igbos and start to form alliance with the North to fight Igbos for trying to leave.
I have never seen a wicked set of people as the present crop of Yorubas we have today, very selfish, wicked, inhumane set of people. Igbo will never get to that place until they start to play an inclusive politics. With all the alignment towards having a biafra nation, no one will trust igbo with power for a day |
