AutosRe: Bid and Ship Cars from the US (Copart & iaai) by thinhcuu: 12:10am On Dec 30, 2025
I recently brought in a car from the US using Salvage World and it went better than I expected. The car was slightly damaged with some scratches on the body, but mechanically it was in very good shape. The engine, gearbox, and interior were all solid just as shown online.

After small repairs and painting, the car is running smoothly and looks great. What helped me most was checking all the photos and damage details before bidding.

My advice to anyone importing is to always budget for clearing, port charges, and repairs, and also get a good clearing agent. If you plan well, salvage imports can save you a lot of money.

Car TalkRe: Nx200t F Sport 2015/2016 by thinhcuu: 12:09am On Dec 30, 2025
I imported a slightly damaged vehicle from the US through Salvage World, and the experience was quite smooth. When the car arrived in Lagos, there were a few scratches and a small dent, exactly as shown in the listing, but the engine, transmission, and interior were in very good condition.

After doing minor body work and repainting, the car now looks really clean. What I liked most was that the information and photos were accurate, so there were no surprises on arrival.

For anyone planning to import, always check the pictures carefully, confirm the VIN, and keep extra money aside for clearing and repairs. If you prepare well, importing a salvage car can save you a lot compared to buying locally.

Hi all,

I am looking into buying Lexus nx200t f sport 2015/2016 from copart/IAAI soon. What should be my budget to win auction minus the shipping cost. My choice of NX is because of its fuel economy and cheaper than the RX
AutosRe: My Ultimate Guide To Importing Cars From Copart To Nigeria (ask Me Anything) by thinhcuu: 12:06am On Dec 30, 2025
I imported a slightly damaged car from the US through Salvage World, and overall it was a good experience. When the car arrived in Nigeria, it had some scratches and a small dent, just like what was shown in the pictures, but the engine, gearbox, and interior were all in very good condition. After panel beating and a fresh paint job, the car looked almost brand new.

What I like is that the vehicle details were accurate and there were no surprises. If you are planning to import a car, my advice is to always study the photos well, know the type of damage, and keep some extra budget for repairs and clearing. If you do that, buying a salvage car can save you a lot of money compared to buying locally.

Very informative.thanks for the effort. I think the major area for consideration is involving an agent, at that point it would be necessary to do a good research, to find a good agent, and know also a bit about the port process, and documents.
