Liverpool have gotten significantly better. Signing VVD turned their once extremely leaky defence into by far the stingiest in the history of the EPL. They are having their best start to a league campaign in history (and they used to be damn good in the 80s and 70s). Spurs haven't made any signings but their young squad are coming into the new season a year older and more experienced hence why they are also having an amazing season so far. All other teams have invested and have gotten better and aren't afraid to have a go at City. I mean everyone is beginning to realize that though city are great going forward, defensively they just hate it when you come at them.

These really aren't the reasons why city are not the title favorite. They just aren't motivated enough.

I'm having a headache trying to digest this logic.

So because for e.g Peter Crouch has a HEIGHT (not tallness or shortness) talent advantage does not mean he is more talented than Messi. If we were to list out all Messi's talents, I surmise he would have more talent than every other player in world football.

For instance, Messi's technique in shooting, balance, decision-making, foresight, body movement, dribbling, freekick taking, scoring, tenacity, acceleration etc etc are talents he has that Crouch doesn't.

Thinking is not hard. If you say one of the talents a player has is quickness. You can say that because that talent predisposes him (sets him up) to beat players he is quicker than which could lead to his success as a footballer.

In the same vein, a player's height sets him up to take advantage of players he is taller than. That is why taller players are generally better than shorter ones as target men. Same goes for keepers and defenders.

These are not new facts, many learned people have this opinion as well. Google is a resourceful tool and a strong companion.
