My dad is a full fledge military man, he retired a Captain, served in Sierra Leone for the Nigeria army, he himself told me this things. The Sierra Leonian civil war lasted over a decade, the Sierra Leonian government forces were decimated by rebels who engaged them in Guerrilla tactics. Buhari should thread carefully, should follow the path of dialogue... A win-win for everybody. Going all commando on NDA would be catastrophic for the military, I repeat catastrophic!

I'm just stating the bitter truth here. Guerrilla warfares are no child's play, even the most powerful countries in the world would find it hard to engage in one.

Ask Obasanjo, throughoit his tenure, the millitants were killing soldiers like chicken, at the same time abducting expatriates oil workers. The amount of oil that was exported was around 1.3 million barrels. It was when yaradua introduced amnesty that all the killings and kidnappings now stopped and oil export now returned to 2.6 million per barrel. The soldiers are human beings like you and I and the millitants use charm so that when soldiers shoot them, it won't affect them and the terrain is difficult for Nigerians soldiers too. Dialogue remains the best option.
