Travel / Wonders Of Ekiti State. by TifaTravels(m): 1:12pm On Dec 17, 2018
WHAT IS A WONDERS? SIMPLY PUT: ANYTHING THAT AMAZES YOU, THAT GETS THINKING FAST AT A TIME TRYING TO REASON IT OUT.
AS OTHER COUNTRIES ARE FILLED WITH OUTSTANDING WONDERS, NIGERIA IS NOT AN EXCEPTION. USING EKITI STATE AS OUR CASE STUDY, WE WILL BRIEFLY BE LOOKING AT JUST TWO WONDERS IN EKITI STATE WHICH IS IKOGOSI WARM SPRING AND ERINTA WATER FALLS. BEFORE WE START, I WOULD LIKE TO LET YOU KNOW THAT EKITI STATE WOULD TOP THE STATES IN NIGERIA, IF NOT AFRICA IF ONLY THE POTENTIALS OF THE TOURISM IN IT IS WELL HARNESSED. THERE ARE A LOT TO EXPLORE IN EKITI STATE.
1. ERINTA WATER FALLS: The Erinta Water falls at Ipole-Iloro is located at about 6km North-West of Ikogosi. It could be reached only through a secondary road from Ikogosi. The road leading to the fall passes through the Ikogosi Tourist Center. Visit this resort center and Marvell at the work of nature. Tourists fell the chilly effect of this fall about 10 meters away. It has three pronounced escarpments. A research recently carried out by an Afro American indicated that the water falls could generate electricity (Hydro-electric power).

This resort centre is naturally endowed with thick and evergreen forest. The Arinta waterfalls are a wonder spectacle to behold, cascading down rocky hills from a great height to form a flowing pool of spring water amidst natural forest vegetation. They are located in Ipole-Iloro Ekiti and are a popular tourist site that draws local and foreign tourists to the State. “Arinta… ever wet ever flowing, the obsession of Ipole people, ever plunging ever splashing”

The steep slopes of the overawing ridge, panoramas of a beautiful valley trapped between two ridges meet the eyes. The landscape features a sprawling expanse of lush vegetation set with a patchwork of rust-brown ‘tabs’ at a distance, and a sky-line bedecked with gently undulating ridge tops on the other side. The noon-day sun energized the verdure flavour of the valley below, casting it in a harmonious romance of bright and dark shades of leaf green. The tarred road descends down the other side of the ridge to meet the sleepy enclave of Ipole-Iloro. A small stream meets the road at the village entrance. It is called Oluwa stream, and being highly-revered by the people, it is said that the water can cure any kind of diseases.

The enclave holds a total human population of about eight hundred people. Aayo spring can be seen winding its way across the village, dividing the village into two parts. The first part towards the south, holds the area where the ancestors of Ipole-Iloro people first dwelt before expansion took the boundaries of the village beyond the river to the other side. This cultural landmark constitutes a major landmark in the enclave and it’s highly treasured by the people. Arinta Waterfalls is a spectacle to behold, watch and marvel at. The falls cascade down the rocky hills from a great height, amidst natural forest vegetation to form a flowing pool of spring water. It is a popular tourist site that draws local and foreign tourists to Ekiti State. The place is ideal for relaxation, picnics, mountain-climbing, hiking, bush trails and religious retreats.
2. IKOGOSI WARM SPRING: This is a wonder to behold and fell. Imagine walking on a water that is warm, suddenly you feel cold. One leg feeling warm and the other feeling cold, moving at the same pace, nothing demarcated them, until you feel it, you may continue to doubt it.
MAKE UP YOUR TIME TO EXPERIENCE THIS GREAT WONDER! RELAX YOURSELF AROUND THIS COLD, PEACEFUL AND FRIENDLY TERRITORY OF IKOGOSI EKITI STATE. YOU WILL SURELY ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE!

Travel / What You Need To Know About Dubai Vacation. by TifaTravels(m): 12:58pm On Dec 13, 2018
Dubai is not a country, it's the biggest city of United Arab Emirate. Dubai (City), largest city of the United Arab Emirates. The city is situated at the coast of the Persian Gulf. Dubai is the capital of Dubai Emirate, one of the seven emirates which constitute the UAE. Dubai is one of the seven United Arab Emirates in the Middle East. It is located on the Eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, in the southwest corner of the Arabian Gulf. It's location is actually a key element in its success. It is located midway between the Far East and Europe.
Dubai is one of the most visited destinations in the world and home to a number of record-breakers, from the world’s tallest tower to the busiest international airport on the planet. Yet for all the city's accolades, there are still plenty of misconceptions about the glitzy Gulf emirate. Here are some things you'll want to know before you arrive.
1. You don’t have to be a millionaire:
It’s regularly named one of the world's most expensive cities, but you can enjoy Dubai on a budget. As the city gears up to host Expo 2020, millennial-friendly mid-market hotel chains such as Rove and Hilton Garden Inn are booming. Metered taxis are cheap by international standards, and you can ride the metro for as little as Dh3. The city is brimming with cheap eats too, especially around Al Muraqqabat Road and Al Rigga Road in Deira.
2. Exciting culture:
Contrary to popular stereotypes, there’s more to Dubai than shopping and skyscrapers. Look beyond the bling, and you’ll discover a rich cultural heritage that blends Bedouin, Arab and Islamic traditions. For a quick history lesson, visit the Etihad Museum and Dubai Museum and then head to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre of Cultural Understanding for a no-holds-barred Q&A session on Emirati culture. Meanwhile, explore the burgeoning contemporary art scene at Alserkal Avenue and catch a performance at the dhow-shaped Dubai Opera.
3. Full of fun:
Think you can’t get a drink? Alcohol is available in licensed bars and restaurants, which are generally attached to hotels (although exceptions include some high-end eateries in Dubai International Financial Centre and City Walk). Most bars have happy hours – Nola has one of the best– and the legal drinking age is 21, so take your photo ID. Ladies’ night, usually on Tuesdays, means women can enjoy free drinks, while all-you-can-eat-and-drink Friday brunches are a Dubai institution.
4. A city with irresistible foods:
With Michelin tipped to launch a guide to Dubai in the near future, dining out in the city has never tasted so good. Dubai’s multicultural mix means you can feast on everything from budget-friendly ethnic eats and traditional Emirati cuisine to French fine-dining and molecular gastronomy. Hip homegrown eateries like The Sum of Us and Salt are leading the shift away from international chains, while Frying Pan Adventures offers fantastic foodie tours of old Dubai.
5. Dressing simplicity:
Dubai is a cosmopolitan city, with expats making up almost 85% of the population. There’s no need to cover your hair; shorts and t-shirts are fine in many places, and you can wear a bikini at the beach or by the pool. It’s a glamorous city too, so dress to impress at brunch and out clubbing. In the malls, mosques and souqs, you should respect local Islamic culture by dressing modestly, which means shoulders and knees covered.
6. A city of incredible vision, focus and direction:
Forget notions of a city fuelled solely by black gold; Dubai has successfully diversified its economy away from oil to become a thriving hub for transport, trade, finance and tourism. What’s more, the government is working with high-tech companies to develop self-driving cars, flying drone taxis and 3D organ printing. One of the most exciting partnerships is with Hyperloop One, which is developing a supersonic transport system that could link Dubai with Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes.
7. Weekends is on Friday and Saturday:
Most people have Friday off work, when Muslims gather for congregational prayers. Dubai Metro services start at 10am on Fridays, and businesses are traditionally closed for a few hours in the afternoon, although many now remain open throughout the day. If you’re looking to party, the busiest nights of the week are Thursdays and Fridays, while malls are also packed with shoppers until midnight.
8. Your safety is guranteed:
Despite unrest in the region, the UAE is the second safest country in the world, according to the World Economic Forum. Dubai is very safe compared with other large cities across the globe, and street crime is rare. It’s safe to take taxis at night, and walking around on your own is fine in most areas. The biggest dangers are reckless driving and crossing the street, with many motorists ignoring pedestrian crossings.
7. A city of architectural wonders:
Dubai is a city that loves a superlative. Not content with the world’s tallest tower, the 828m Burj Khalifa, the emirate is building another epic skyscraper. Located at Dubai Creek Harbour, The Tower will stand at 928m when completed in 2020 and house a 360-degree observation platform, along with a hotel, restaurants and vertical gardens. It's got competition for the ‘world’s tallest’ title though, with Saudi Arabia’s kilometer-high Jeddah Tower also set to open in 2020.
Dubai is a ctiy to look forward to spend your holidays, vacations and adventure.
In our next post, we will publish the do's and dont's in Dubai.

Travel / Four (4) Healthy Holiday Tips For Your Next Adventure... by TifaTravels(m): 10:42am On Nov 29, 2018
Are you someone who strongly values your health and well-being? Would you like some healthy holiday tips before your next big trip? Staying in good health while you’re on your travels isn’t always easy, especially with a myriad of temptations around you. This can vary between doing enough exercise, eating right, and avoiding getting hurt while out and about.

Today, let’s run through four healthy holiday tips to consider when it comes to your health on holiday. When planning your next vacation or adventure, make sure you take a look at these and plan accordingly.
1. EATING WELL: Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, it’s a massive advantage to eat properly when you’re out and about on your travels. This is the cornerstone of good health, regardless of the time of year, your destination or any other factors.

Eating well has a number of benefits aside from just helping to keep you slim. It will also see you in good health regarding energy levels, allowing you to stay active throughout your journey and preparing your body with enough nutrients for adventure.
2. DOING ENOUGH EXERCISE: Got a routine at home that you stick to religiously? It’s not impossible to replicate this on your travels, even if you feel hard-pressed for time. This can be done either by carrying out the exact type of exercise you were doing before, or supplementing certain routines for something similar. With a bit of thinking ahead you can even make plans to utilize a gym or take various exercise classes while on vacation.

Breaking Muscle provides a guide on how to exercise anywhere while you’re on vacation, regardless of the tools you have at your disposal. Some of the most challenging routines can be carried out in the comfort of your hotel room.
3.GETTING INSURED FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: t’s crucially important for anyone heading away on an active holiday to get insured. TINZ mentions the importance of this across the board – regardless of whether you’re hitting the slopes of a mountain, or taking to the road on a bike.

Having the right kind of cover in place will go a long way when it comes to ensuring you aren’t left out of pocket at the end of an adventure should the worst happen. Taking care of your health in this regard is just as important as eating right or exercising.
4. USING SENSIBILITY: Common sense is often the best option throughout most areas of life – and the same is certainly true of heading out on vacation. Don’t throw yourself into situations where you’re likely to get hurt. That doesn’t mean avoiding strenuous activity, but rather knowing what your limits are.

Don’t force yourself into dangerous circumstances just because others around you are. Know what you’re capable of and stick to it. Here is another article to help prepare for your next adventure.

Have these tips helped you? Be sure to keep them in mind when it comes to your next adventure. Nothing is more important than your health, even your holiday plans.

Travel / 7 Money Saving Tips For Travel by TifaTravels(m): 1:26pm On Nov 26, 2018
Saving money isn’t always easy, but even if you think that you can’t save a penny, you probably can. All you have to do is limit your spending, record your earnings and employ some simple tactics to keep your money working for you and growing as much as possible.
That’s why we are sharing 7 of our favorite money-saving tips for travel. Not all of them are hacks and secrets, but if you use as many of them as you can, you’re sure to save more money than you thought possible. Here it goes!
1. WRITE DOWN YOUR BUDGET
The first thing everyone should do when they’re trying to save money is write down your inflow and outflow of cash in a given month. Write how much you earn at the top, and then subtract your bills, insurance, rent, mortgage, gas etc.
Note: This may sound like a basic idea, and it is, but it’s extremely useful when trying to save money and if you combine it with the next 6 tips in this article, it will help you to save a lot of money in just one year.
After calculating your expenses, give yourself about 5% of the total income per month for entertainment and another 5% for miscellaneous spending. The latter is an important one because there are always things popping up that you didn’t plan for. A safety stash will ensure that you can pay for these mishaps without dipping into your savings.
If you write down your wage and subtract all of your expenses and you start to go into the negative, or there’s nothing left to save, you really need to start to adjust your spending habits to better suit your salary, or better yet, try to find a second job.
Note: If you’re living way beyond your means, it will be very difficult for you to save money.
2. AUTOMATIC TRANSFER
After you’ve written down your budget, call your bank, or go to the bank, or (if you’re banking online), go online and set-up an automatic withdrawal. This will magically transfer your money from your regular account into a special, travel savings account.
Note: By automatically saving money the day after payday, you’ll never really feel as though the money is there and you’ll have an easier time saving it. I don’t recommend transferring it on the day of your payday because if your pay cheque is delayed and you go into overdraft by accident, you’ll have to pay overdraft fees.
3. USE A MONEY APP
We use the Trail Wallet App to budget our life while traveling, but it could easily be used while saving money at home as well. With this app, you can manually enter in every cent you spend throughout the month and add them into different categories.
At the end of a couple of months, have a look at your pie chart in the app and decide if there’s anywhere that you could spend less money. For us, it was wine! For you, it could be grocery bills or dinners out.
The app is perfect for anyone who is trying to watch their pennies and keep track of their spending.
4. PUT YOUR SPENDING ON CREDIT CARDS
We used to say that people should take out cash and then spend it out of their wallet so that they can better keep track of their purchases. This is a very good method for people who don’t have any discipline, but if you do this, you’ll be missing out on a ton of credit card rewards points.
5. SAVE YOUR PENNIES
Literally, put your change into a big jar every time you come home. Don’t worry, even if you put as much as you can on your credit cards, you’ll still have to use cash from time to time, and in these circumstances, you’ll have change.
According to Discover Magazine, about $600 worth of coins pass through the average Americans hands each year. Save every penny and you’ve got a pretty healthy amount to cash in at the end of the year.
Save that change every single time! Put it in a big jar and take it out at the end of the year.
6. LOCK IN YOUR SAVINGS
Not everyone is looking to save their money for a big trip at the end of the year. Some people want to save a lot of money for a rainy day, or they only travel once every few years. If you’re building a nest egg and you know that you won’t need the money for a long time, consider locking it into a high-interest investment savings fund.
Ask your financial advisor about the best tax-deductible government savings accounts/retirement funds that you can deposit money into. Tell them you plan to deposit money and claim the tax refund while you’re earning a full salary at home, and then withdrawing it during a $0 income year of travel. They’ll know what to do!
7. DON’T GO OUT!
Probably the best money-saving tactic and the one that people hate the most. Not going out doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun with your friends. It just means that you have parties at your house, or out camping, or anywhere other than the bars & restaurants around town.
Beers at the bar. Fun, but expensive. Drink at home instead!
Bottom line… if you want to save money, don’t go out so much. Just look at all of the money that you would save in a year!
Even if you can’t scrape much from your current earnings and budget, you can be certain that by using these 7 tactics, you can save a lot of money in just one year.
Give it a try!
