Okay, why did you say the money gram is pure yahoo, can you explain? Was it not sent from a Nigeria bank or is opeyemi lying about receiving his money back? Mind you, I have also been defrauded on nairaland here, if not for the help of my bank more than 3Mil would have gone into the drain so you see why I said I would have been the first to detest that act. I gave miiky a link to confirm the I'd card he gave him and if the link returns nothing then is a fake. As we all want them to settle this, we also want to learn from it so that such scenerio will not repeat itself or happen to anyone. Thanks
Well my sister, let him Opeyemi confirm it to you. He actually knows better. But let us just let it go. I want to believe he has learnt his lessons.

if we have to scrutinize each and every move, we may not arrive at a conclusion easily because there would be more speculations than facts, but what is clear is that opeyemi5 didn't intend from the onset to make use of fraudulent funds, if he may have fallen victim midway or did it consciously, we may not be able to prove that here.
sincerely that is why I wanted us to let the case dies off. He never had any intention of such a thing but desperate search for dollar to send for sweet deal, haba, I mean, who go see Samsung s7 for $290 wey no go do anything to get it. I can understand his situation which any of us here always find ourselves when we see good deal and Mike says no dollar to buy except you send. So let's allow it to go. Mike has accepted to settle with him.
And by the way, I love your calmness. ,hope say na so you calm for real life oooooo.

I am sorry for my delay in response as I needed to source for dollar. No bi only una waka come. grin

Mikky, I will try my best and reply your comments bit by bit to avoid confusion. You actually made it look like I am only siding opeyemi but i am working base on the information you guys provided and nothing much. If the money opeyemi sent to you was a fraudulent money, I would have been the first person to descend on him thereby pointing out what I noticed. Here we go please

I do not know if opeyemi is hiding something or not, i am narrating base on the evidence and comments on here. As for that vouching thing, it is still very risky because on that same thread someone mentioned the name of the person that could vouch for him only for the guy to turn and defraud the said person that would vouch for him.

There are people advertising for money gram there but they are not much because of the difficulty in getting slots for money gram. I was unable to pull some pages from that link you gave, However I was able to get these links below of people selling and buying money gram slots.

I believe we have clarified the paypal payment that it was genuine.
As for the money gram which you had returned back to Nigeria and they had also claimed their money, does it ring a bell to you that if it was a fraudulent money that none of them would get their money back? To be honest, if that money was fraud then the money would be hanging or probably transferred back to the real owners account.

The only people I know that send money outside Nigeria are politician, business personnel, Education/medical purpose etc but definitely not yahoo boys; yahoo only bring in from other countries to Nigeria and not from Nigeria to another country, who dem wan give the money there wey dem never chop belle full here? - someone can quote me wrong on this.

Also, If the money was fraud then FBI would have been to your house for questioning since they already have your details, you really do not need to go to money grams's office before you get arrested if it was fraud.

Been a student does not detect the person's pocket. There are some students who are into yahoo as well as some into genuine businesses, most are helped by their family while some made it through genuine hustle. Everybody destiny is very different, even my younger brother started his business when he was in secondary school and did it all through his university levels, graduated and still doing his business so lets leave that one there because been a student justifies nothing.

Also remember that in Nigeria 4 years course can take you to 5-6 years because of strike, you know about this very well so it should not be news to you.

The id card looks weird but there was a time some people said that inec messed up their PVC which I don't know if opeyemi was one of them, I would have given you the link to back my claims but I can't find the link at the moment.
I would suggest you follow this link below to confirm if the id opeyemi gave you is genuine because I can't view the last 5 digits of the card you provided.

http://www.inecnigeria.org/?page_id=2160

People can send fraudulent money to US but definitely not from Nigeria. Your friend who works with money gram might have said that probably because the name (Samuel) on the account number where the money was deducted from and the sender's name does not correspond. Now let me explain how this thing works, there was a time I exhausted my money gram limit so I had to use someone's id to send another money gram payment and as such, the money would be deducted from my account but the sender will have the name of the person I used her id card; that is how it works. what matters is the account the money left not the name you see as a sender.

Also remember that there are people who bears white man name in Nigeria; people of rivers and Bayelsa can attest to this. I have a friend from rivers whose surname is Briggs so you can see the point am trying to make.

I really do not know if opeyemi is hiding anything or not but I made my findings base on your conversations here.
Opeyemi, to prove your innocent and clear yourself of this mess, I would suggest that you look for that guy's number and get the alert of the account the money left. you can meet gtbank to get his number since the guy is also a gtbank customer.

Mikky, I would suggest you settle out with him and give him his phone while he balances you but if you still want to report to the police to arrest him because people told you they sent a fraudulent money to you, just know that in Nigeria complainant becomes a suspect once this people should provide the evidence of the account the money left. think wisely

The final whistle is left for dragnet to blow. Anyone that notices anything you should point it ( see something say something ). cool. Thanks
Good research but most of them I notice you're not really aware of this yahoo boys activity. In as much I want us to let this case die down, there're some facts I will want us to really know.
1. The money gram is pure yahoo. And there is no way you say you lost the phone number of someone you sent $500 to and now you said he refunded your money and he's not picking your calls when you wAntes him to share the loss wit you. I decided not to raise that point because I want the case settled.
2. That inec ID is never and I repeat never real. It's photoshop doctor and we all know but trying to play ignorance of it. Tell him Ope to scan the original here.

How I wish we can all kick against this kind of bad things with full condemnation so we can discourage all these boys from this mess they're doing.
I was scam $780 with same money gram same way he did this one.
So please, he's aware of it, like you said, if he's not hiding anything let him get the guy detail., but believe me that is not necessary because he just got a refund and he's been calling the guy without the guy picking his calls (he's truly not a good liar). That's y I feel for him.

Opeyemi5:
thanks so much sir
It's not about refund I'm fighting sir
The 100k was for s7 edge which he already picked
The only issue is mikky does not believe I was not the one that sent the money
And I keep telling him
Wat he could say is wen they handcuff me wen I pick my item that I will know
I begged him to link me with the Akinlolu that send funds to him but my oga won't
Al this pple I said their names here I did ask them for help sending this fund even the ones I can't remember.if he had a link why can't he give me and I pay for the person service than to avoid al this
There was a time he even wanted to buy iphone for resell and he contact me to help him check the imei of the phone if it's clean so I guess u should know the kind of relationship I keep with him
Na wen he was now repeating it and keep repeating it that I sent him a fraud fund and after telling me to send my address and all and now letter tell me I have to wait till he comes to 9ja that I can pick (na that time I vex and had to tell him he has something on his head and wen he said he will block my mom that I said he was rude)abeg who will hear that and won't be angry
don't worry, just try to sort it out amicably, anger doesn't give birth to a good child, it can destroy a 100yrs relationship in less than a 100 secs. So pls my brother don't be angry and we've all spoken to Mike, you too know how simple he's only people feel he's arrogant and hard but we close to him knows how simple he's to deal with. So pls bikko, just try to sort it out amicably

Am referring to the $500 he sent which was termed as scam payment by many people according to you people.
How was he able to get the cash back if it was scam?
and has he shown you the proof of the money he got back or denied the allegations? Why not try to let the sleeping dog lie and let the guy sort his issue amicably rather than trying to root out what is not. The innocent guy has his money at stake pls.

thanks so much much sir
I didn't want to be calling names but the way things is I had to
I wish I could still remember more names of pple I asked, if not that I saw u online here self I would have forgotten to mention you
Thanks so much I appreciate
Ope, sincerely I can understand you but you see sometimes we get so desperate to buy items to an extent of getting our naira exchange from any source due to govt policy that is so killing . Unfortunately you got yours from a very bad guys. Only that Mike restricted himself from saying some things here for security purposes but believe me, it would have been worse.
he will refund the 100k back to you I can assure you that. But pls and pls, always try to study who you are dealing with and try to work things out amicably before it blows out. I was the first person e told about the money you asked him to pick up and I told him just to be careful but he said you're one of his trusted clients until when he confirmed the money as not just fake but scam, I know you're unaware of it which he too knows but it was your response to him that actually got things bad. See sometimes you have to be a mumu to say, if not for the sake of your pride, but for the sake of your investment and business.
He will refund your 100k and you can personally resolve other issue related to your business with him.
best of luck.

mavinc4u:
Okay, this is my findings

- opeyemi sent paypal payment to mikky's paypal but the money was later refunded back by mikky with a reason that opeyemi sent fraudulent money to him. However, mikky I want to make it clear base on my paypal experience that the money which opeyemi sent to your paypal was never fraudulent instead your paypal account is what have issues probably because of incomplete details you have with paypal hence you have limit of fund you can receive, that money was in your account but it was not available for you to withdraw since you have account issues. What you should have done to release the money was to add tracking number though sometimes paypal would want the tracking to show delivered before releasing the money to you. If the payment was fraudulent then your account would have been suspended with some request of information you have to provide.

- on the case of money gram. I also do not believe that someone in Nigeria will send fraudulent money to US; the way we know yahoo fund is from other countries to Nigeria.
In sending money gram every individual is entitled to 1 slot in 3months and whereby you have used your slot or your slot is still very far before it gets to you, you can take someone's slot base on your negotiations with the person. Probably you expected the sender to be opeyemi's name but since he used someone's slot then it can't be his name rather it would be the other person's name so the money gram they sent was also not a fraud because the sender will provide his I'd card and some other vital information which will make it difficult to be fraud.

This is your regular customer and even people here said if you could have problem with opeyemi then you can have problem with anybody which I believe is not good for your business. I want to believe that the reason you picked up the phone for him without collecting money first was because of trust you have for him been your regular customer. To be honest, if he carried you along with any transaction then there is nothing wrong with what the guy did at all. Try and sort this issue out with him, give him his phone and if he is still owing then he should balance you. This issue does not require all these noise. Mikky, please try and also appreciate your customers because it is not easy for one to patronize another if you doubt me then reverse the case and see how it looks like. A snake seen by one person is a python but one seen by many is actually the real snake. Pride begets a fall. That is all I have to say.

Haba opeyemi, you self sabi share yam. You contributed the first money to the ministry and it didn't grow then you went ahead with second and third. Abeg share that yam reach my side grin

did you hear from Mike before you made all this your conclusion. Yoruba has a saying "an elder that listen to one side of a story to give verdict is a wicked and useless elder".
I don't know how you got yourself into this, but you got it all wrong. You'll soon reverse all this your verdict, let Mikky drop his own side.
InvestmentRe: How The Founder Of MMM Nigeria Mavrodi Was Found And Arrested For Fraud by tim26will: 9:21pm On Sep 16, 2016

Well, the media has painted different versions of the stories. It's glaring that the financial institutions feel challenged by His methods which are actually working. The banks will save your money and give you say 10% profit after a year (will they try up to 10%?), but still loqn out same money with interest rates as high as 20%,
But Sergei Mavrodi felt lets borrow ourselves this mney without the banks Interference and then gain the benefits. MMM is a revolution, its changing the world. I am benefiting from it. As an intern with meagre stipend, I hardly have finance issues because the MMM community has always been helping me as I have also been helping other members of the community. And I started with my spare money. That's all MMM advices, use your spare money and help a fellow human solve his needs.
MMM was also sincere to say "No guarantee"..... Because it's a community of people who want to help each other. I'm benefiting well from this, holla to know more and possibly join.

Why did they come to Nigeria alone. Read this. It's a matter of time.

MMM was established in 1989 by Sergei Mavrodi,[2] his brother Vyacheslav Mavrodi, and Olga Melnikova. The name of the company was taken from the first letters of the three founders' surnames.

Initially, the company imported computers and office equipment. In January 1992, tax police accused MMM of tax evasion, leading to the collapse of MMM-bank, and causing the company to have difficulty obtaining financing to support its operations. Faced with difficulties in funding its foreign trade, the company switched to the financial sector. It offered American stocks to Russian investors, but met with little success. Later, MMM-Invest was created for the purpose of collecting vouchers during privatisation. This effort was similarly unsuccessful.[citation needed]

MMM created its successful Ponzi scheme in 1994. The company started attracting money from private investors, promising annual returns of up to one thousand percent. It is unclear whether a Ponzi scheme was Mavrodi's initial intention, inasmuch as such extravagant returns might have been possible during the Russian hyperinflation in such commerce as import-export.[citation needed]

MMM grew rapidly. In February 1994, the company reported dividends of 1,000%, and started an aggressive TV ad campaign. Since the shares were not quoted on any stock exchange and the company itself determined the share price, it maintained a steady price growth of thousands of percent annually, leading the public to believe its shares were a safe and profitable investment.[citation needed]

An important factor in the scheme's success was word of mouth, but most of the company's success came from its extremely aggressive ad campaign, which appealed to the general public by using "ordinary" characters that viewers could identify with. The most famous of them, a "folk hero" of early 1994, was Lyonya Golubkov. Another notable marketing effort was a giveaway of free Metro trips to all Moscow citizens on a particular day. MMM also was one of the first well-known companies in Russia with a logotype and slogans ("Flying from shadow to the light" and others).[citation needed]

At its peak the company was taking in more than 100 billion rubles (about 50 million USD) each day from the sale of its shares to the public. Thus, the cashflow turnover at the MMM central office in Moscow was so high that it could not be estimated. The management started to count money in roomfuls (1 roomful of money, 2 roomfuls of money, etc.).[citation needed]

Regular publication in the media of the rising MMM share price led President Boris Yeltsin to issue a decree in June 1994 prohibiting financial institutions from publicising their expected income.[citation needed]

The success of MMM in attracting investors led to the creation of other similar companies, including Tibet, Chara, Khoper-Invest, Selenga, Telemarket, and Germes. All of these companies were characterised by aggressive television advertising and extremely high promised rates of return. One company promised annual returns of 30,000%.[citation needed]

On July 22, 1994, the police closed the offices of MMM for tax evasion. For a few days the company attempted to continue the scheme, but soon ceased operations. At that point, Invest-Consulting, one of the company's subsidiaries, owed more than 50 billion rubles in taxes (USD 26 million), and MMM itself owed between 100 billion and 3 trillion rubles to the investors (from USD 50 million to USD 1.5 billion). In the aftermath at least 50 investors, having lost all of their money, committed suicide.[citation needed]

Several organisations of "deceived investors" made efforts to recover their lost investments, but Sergei Mavrodi manipulated their indignation and directed it at the government. In August 1994 Mavrodi was arrested for tax evasion. However, he was soon elected to the Russian State Duma, with the support of the "deceived investors". He argued that the government, not MMM, was responsible for people losing their money, and promised to initiate a pay-back program. The amount ultimately paid back was minuscule compared to the amount owed.[citation needed]

In October 1995, the Duma cancelled Mavrodi's right to immunity as a deputy. In 1996, he tried to run for Russia's presidency, but most of the signatures he received were rejected. MMM declared bankruptcy on September 22, 1997.[citation needed]

While it was believed that Sergei Mavrodi left Russia and moved to the United States, it is possible that he stayed in Moscow, using his money to change apartments regularly and employ a group of former special agents. With the help of a distant relative he started Stock Generation Ltd., another pyramid scheme based around trading non-existent companies' stocks in a form of the "stock exchange game" on the company's site, stockgeneration.com. Despite a bold-letter warning on the main page that the site was not a real stock exchange, between 20,000 and 275,000 people, according to various estimates, fell for the promised 200% returns and lost their money. According to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, losses of victims were at least USD 5.5 million.[citation needed]

Mavrodi was found and arrested in 2003. While in custody, Mavrodi was given until January 31, 2006 to read the documents in his fraud case against him (The criminal case consisted of 650 volumes, each 250-270 pages long).[citation needed] At the end of April 2007, Mavrodi was convicted of fraud, and given a sentence of four and a half years. Since he had already spent over four years in custody, he was released less than a month later, on May 22, 2007.[citation needed] He later went on to creating yet another pyramid scheme called MMM-2011.

The MMM scandal led to increased regulation of the Russian stock market, but the legacy of the fraud led many to become extremely suspicious of any joint stock companies.

In 2015 MMM began operating in South Africa with the same business model as MMM-2011, claiming a "30% per month" return through a "social financial network".[3] The group was identified as a possible pyramid scheme by the National Consumer Commission and accounts of clients were later frozen by Capitec Bank.[4] In response to mounting criticism and official investigations by state authorities in 2016 supporters of the South African MMM scheme staged a protest march in Johannesburg.[5]

In 2016, MMM launched a website targeting the Nigerian audience.[6]

In January 2016 the Chinese government banned MMM on the grounds that it is a pyramid scheme, (Ponzi scheme), and it is not registered in the country (and as a fraudulent scheme cannot be registered).[7]

With regard the processor, once you've decided to go for Intel, there are so many options. Diff classes of processors - from the Pentium series, to the M series, to the i series.

Best you go for the i series. Three options here - i3, i5 and i7. The higher the number, the more powerful. But it doesn't end there! There are currently 6 generations of these chips. The latest are called "Skylake" 6th gen. Go for something from the 3rd gen upwards. A 6th gen i3 is better than a 2nd gen i5.

Be very careful about this. Look out for the processor code name eg i5-5200u. Do a Google search of the name to learn more about it.

Core i5 is the best option for me cos the performance diff to i7 is not much. Gives you better battery life, and is cheaper than i7.

Whoops. No be small thing
Sir I'm sorry to say but your research is completely an amateur kind of research. One of the best in terms of strength and ruggedness is 2nd generation intel processor. From 4th generation upward are economically designed to increase their profitability. 1-3rd generation are removable processor which gives it more advantage than the later generation which are built onboard. Onboard processor are not strong nor rugged and it's vulnerable to heat up since it's sharing same panel and chips with the VGA.
That is why brand new 2nd and 3rd generation intel laptop is always more expensive than the later compare to age.
Try more on your research. I love your write up though
