The pedestrian bridge at MCC Upper Iweka is in a dangerous state now.

An eyewitness who spoke with news9naija recounts that a heavy duty vehicle rammed into one of the Pillars which led to the shifting of the bridge. The said driver sped off after the incident.

News9naija reports that this incident occurred on the 9th of September 2019. As at the time News9naija visited the scene, no action has been taken on the bridge as pedestrians still use it.

News9naija wish to bring this to the notice of the ANambra State government.

The Abuja residence of 2nd Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Mallam Shehu Dikko, has been sealed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

This is following an order of forfeiture of the property by a Federal High Court on Friday, according to The Cable.

The ICPC sealed Dikko’s No. 1 River Benue, Maitama residence.

The house was sealed by the commission over a fresh corruption investigation on the federation.



According to the ICPC, the investigation is to uncover financial malpractices in the football association, allegedly involving Dikko and other executives.

Rasheedat Okoduwa, ICPC spokesperson, told TheCable that Dikko’s property was sealed following fresh corruption charges against him and some other executives of the NFF.

“It is true that ICPC sealed Shehu Dikko’s Maitama residence this morning,” she said.

“He is being investigated with others over fresh corruption charges. It has nothing to do with the cases of SPIP or EFCC.”

Nkechi Victor Oye Arrested, Detained

News9naija can confirm authoritatively that the wife of Ozo Victor Ike Oye has been arrested by the Lagos state police command and detained at Onipan police station, Lagos.

She is being detained in relation to the 50 million naira jeep she got in deceit from Humphery Anumudu before the APGA governorship primaries.

News9naija just gathered that police has retrieved the jeep from her and it is presently parked at the police station.

Nkechi Oye in consent with her husband, got the 50 million naira worth of jeep with a promise to return the giver as the governorship candidate of APGA in Imo state for March 9, 2019 governorship election.

But once they received the jeep, they dumped Humphery Anumudu and concocted a letter claiming that the jeep was a birthday gift to Ozo Victor Ike Oye on his 62nd birthday.

Chief Humphery Anumudu on their refusal to return the jeep approached the high court Lagos.

Today, police has acted and Oye’s wife is in police net. The jeep has been retrieved and parked at the police station.

The rift between the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, may have ended as the labour union on Monday congratulated him on his reappointment.

This is contained in a letter signed by the President of the NLC, Mr Ayuba Wabba, in Abuja.

Wabba said that Ngige’s reappointment was a testament of the confidence President Muhammadu Buhari reposed on him.

He called on Ngige to steer the affairs of the ministry towards the upliftment of Nigerians from poverty, indignity and indecent work conditions.

“On behalf of my family and the NLC, I wish to congratulate you on your recent appointment by Mr President as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“And your subsequent designation as the Minister of Labour and Employment,” he said

Wabba said it was the NLC’s expectation that the minister would use the opportunity of his reappointment to promote and advance tripartism.

The NLC president also called on the minister to enbrace social dialogue, decent work conditions and harmonious industrial relations in Nigeria .

Wabba furthered wished Ngige a very successful tenure.

NAN recalls that the NLC had warned President Muhammadu Buhari not to return Dr Chris Ngige as the Minister of Labour and Employment in the next cabinet.It warned that returning the former Anambra State governor as minister would create industrial crisis, adding that Ngige lacked the approach to lead workers.

Towards the end of Ngige’s tenure as labour minister, there were clashes between him and labour leaders over his delay in inaugurating the board of the National Social Insurance Trust Fund more than three years after the expiration of the tenure of the last board.

Labour also took on him over his exclusion of Frank Kokori as the chairman of the board.

The union held a protest against him in his house which led to a fracas that landed some NLC members at the National Hospital in Abuja after they were allegedly attacked by thugs.

Young Nigerian football talents would get the opportunity to play professional football in Asia and Europe in a new partnership between Galaxy Football and a Chinese football agent.

Mr Augustine Ekpehe Chairman Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Sport said in Abuja on Monday that the agent, Mr Kelvin You will be visiting Nigeria in October to scout for the talents.

Ekpehe who is also the Chairman of Galaxy Sport Academy Abuja said his company was partnering with You Sport Development Shengyeng for a professional football opportunities in Europe and Asia

“Mr Kelvin You is the executive Director of You Sport Development Shengyeng China,
a Chinese ex-international player and coach of the Chinese national team and is currently the biggest football agent in China

“He also manages the affairs of several Chinese clubs and he will be visiting Abuja next month to seek for young football players interested in trials for internship in Europe and Asia.

“Galaxy sports is set to showcase young Nigerian players that posses an extra talent for football during the visit of the Chinese agent,” he said.

Ekpehe added that there will be an under-15 football match where the talents would be showcased.

He added that Galaxy Sport Academy team will play a game against the Abuja selected U-15 team during the visit of Chinese agent in Abuja.

He said that Galaxy sport had secured approval for two U-15 teams to participate in the 5th Peace Cup Shenyang China, 2019 but was unable to go due to late application for Visa.

The Chairman therefore appealed to the Shengyeng China local organizing committee for another opportunity in 2020.

He advised state government who are interested in sports development to take advantage of the opportunities that abound in China.
