It took Romelu Lukaku just two minutes to find the back of the net against Valerenga this evening.

The Belgian striker was sent on by Jose Mourinho at half-time, coming on for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and scored his third goal for Manchester United with a header.

Lukaku’s goal made it 2-0 to United after Marouane Fellaini, strongly linked with a move to Galatasaray this weekend, broke the deadlock shortly before half-time.

It’s been an encouraging start to life as a United player for Lukaku, who completed his £75 million transfer from Everton earlier this month.

As well as scoring against Valerenga this evening, the 24-year-old also netted against Real Salt Lake and Manchester City on United’s pre-season tour of the USA.

Lukaku will be acutely aware that bigger tests are just around the corner - starting next week against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup - but he’ll also be pleased with how quickly he’s settling in with the Red Devils.

A young Zambian man identified as Mpanjilwa Mulwanda, who committed suicide by hanging himself on July 24, barely days after making a joke about it on Facebook.

His death is currently trending on Zambia Social Media and according to multiple Facebook sources, during a chat with his friends on Friday, July 21, he made it known that he was going to take his life but they all laughed it off. Infact some even encouraged him to do it.

As rumours of a potential move to Ligue 1 swirl around Barcelona’ s Brazillian forward , Neymar, Barcelona and Paris Saint- Germain have announced press conferences for Tuesday night .
The La-Liga giants and the Ligue 1 outfit both announced simultaneous press conferences, sparking speculations that PSG , who have been lining up a world record deal for the Brazillian , have triggered the 25- year - old £ 196 m release clause ( € 222m ) .
It is also been speculated that the Catalonians will announce Marco Verratti ’ s capture at the same time as Neymar ’s record- breaking deal .
PSG ’s briefing is due to commence at 11 pm French time while Barcelona’s will start half an hour later.

The Oyo and Osun governments have announced the immediate constitution of a seven-man Governing Council for Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).
A statement issued on Monday in Ibadan by the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Mr
Olalekan Alli , said the newly constituted council would be headed by a retired Head of Service of the Federation, Prof. Oladapo Afolabi .
According to the statement, Prof. Lai Olurode, Prof. Olaide Adedokun, Mr Abiodun Owonikoko, Mr Isiaka Olagoke, Mr Tise Adenipekun and Bade Adesina would serve as members of the Governing council.
”Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State and his counterpart form Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, acted on the powers conferred on them by the laws establishing the institution as Visitors met and approved the immediate constitution of the Governing Council of LAUTECH
“The tenure of the Governing Council as mandated by the University Law shall be for four years from the date of its inauguration unless determined by the Visitors.
“Visitors have also directed the immediate inauguration of the Governing Council whose mandate shall also be guided by the provisions of the relevant laws establishing the university, ” the statement said.
According to the statement, the visitors are confident that with this development, the ongoing crisis in the institution will be resolved soon.
“They consequently enjoined all stakeholders to cooperate with the newly constituted council in its determination to realise its mandate,” it added.

After Romelu Lukaku arrived at Manchester United in a £75 million deal, Marcus Rashford may have been fearing the worst.

British study says men suffer more long-lasting pain from breakups than women.

Researchers from Binghamton University and University College London conducted a study that involved 5,705 participants from 96 countries to rate the emotional and physical pain of a breakup on a scale of one (none) to 10 (unbearable).

The result of the poll shows that women often experience higher levels of both physical and emotional pain.
According to Craig Morris, research associate at Binghamton University and lead author on the study:
“Women averaged 6.84 in terms of emotional anguish versus 6.58 in men. In terms of physical pain, women averaged 4.21 versus men's 3.75.
“While breakups hit women the hardest emotionally and physically, women tend to recover more fully and come out emotionally stronger.
Men, on the other hand, never full recover - they simply move on.”

The affected students went to television stations and the Government House to register their displeasure with the management's decision.
Some students of the University of Port Harcourt, River state have protested against the closure of the school fees payment portal by the University management.
An eyewitness account by Adeyemi Ademola stated that the students were seen chanting protest songs peacefully along NTA Mgboba axis of Rivers State imploring the school authority to re-open the portal to enable them to pay their school fees.
A student of the school simply identified as Sarbie who spoke to our said the protest was a peaceful protest to implore the school management.
Sarbie said, 'the students protest is not a violent one. In fact, it was just an awareness to plead with the school management. So they went to NTA, AIT and the Government House in Port Harcourt to beg the government. So during the course of the protest yesterday, I heard the Senate had a meeting to deliberate on the issue at hand. Right now we don't know the outcome of the meeting"
Tracing the genesis of the issue, Sarbie said the issue that led to the protest was due to the inability of some students to pay their school fees at the stipulated time.
"Some students have not been able to pay their school fees. What they actually did last semester was that if you can't pay the full school fees, you can pay half. Some students who were not able to pay last semester paid half of their school fees while some paid everything and some did not pay at all.
"So they opened the opened the portal again this semester, some students felt that since the portal is open those that were unable to pay last semester would be able to pay the complete school fees this semester, but they later found out that it was not possible as the portal is only open for half school fees such that those who paid 25k last semester would complete the remaining payment this semester. So it is not possible for them to pay the full payment now.
Now, the school management has closed the portal and they are advising the affected students to defer one-year session and stay at home because they would not have any result that is why right now there is a delay in the first-semester result."
The student added that the Student Union Government is not really doing anything to help their colleagues because the union and other departmental associations have been rendered incapacitated due to a violent protest they championed last year.
"Due to what happened last year when we had a protest over the new school fees, a student died and the school was shot for two months. When we came back, we filled a form and paid a damage fee of N5000 because some students damaged school properties during the protests.
Since then, the SUG has not really been functional because those in charge of last year's protest were first expelled and when they pleaded with the senate they turned it to a suspension for one year, and after that, they dissolved the SUG and departmental presidents.
Right now it is much like we don't have an SUG because the ones we have IS very dormant due to what happened last year."
The students have registered their displeasure with the management's decision and at the time of filing this report, there has not been any official statement form the school management.
