TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Tintin263: 3:40pm On Jan 07
I have been with my employer for 15 years. Yes the net salary reflects in my account and is consistent.

I have 2 uncles (my dad's older brothers and their families who live there), l actually lived with one of them when l was in University.

I was in Dubai with my family for 10 days over the Christmas holiday. In January 2025 l was in Cape Town for New Years.

Online degree and wanting to attend graduation in person is very tricky.
Your ties however if strong can sway it in your direction.
Apply for 5 years.
Any recent travel history?
Your job how long have you been there?
Is the net salary reflecting monthly in your account?
What is the relationship to the family you have in the UK?

Thank you for your response, l was just not too sure l was not being too ambitious applying for 5 years, since l have not travelled to the UK in such a long time. The post grad is mine which l attained last year in the UK, but l was doing it online.
giselle237:
Sorry who’s post grad is it?
You can apply for 5 or 10 years. You do not have to give a reason for long term visa application. You simply give details of the one time trip and your itinerary for it.

Hi everyone.
I would appreciate your advice from all the gurus in the house.
I intend to apply for a visa to attend my post grad graduation in May and visit family in the UK for about 10 days
Here are my circumstances and l would like to know if l stand a chance.
My Bank account currently has about USD4,500 in savings. My net salary is USD 2,100.
I will leave my husband and 2 kids aged, 5 and 8 at home.
We own a house which we currently live in.
What is a realistic amount that l should say l intend to use during my stay and a realistic amount for my monthly costs for my family and l?
I studied my Masters in the UK in 2008 and worked from 2010 to 2012. Travelleed back to my home country in 2012 and visited the UK in 2013 and 2014. In 2014 l was issued with a 2 year visa. So in this case can l apply for a 2 year visa again or is the 6 month visa safer?
