I have seen the Nigerian Army kill too many innocent people and commit too many human rights abuses to have any respect for them. But I don't support killing anyone except in self defence

But the question is, why were Aba resident more at home with the gunmen, walking past them, hailing them. But the same Aba resident will never want past Nigerian Army nor hail them?
That's the only question they won't ask themselves

Front0lane:
Any how you diced it Alex Otti as not built half of the road Dapo Abiodun built. This is a separate issue on it own.

What I am saying on this thread is why there is so much noise on a 3.5 KM road while nothing is heard about a 27 KM n 8 KM road inaugurated at the same period.

Plus how come the best governor can only celebrate 3.5 KM while the worse like you Igbos claim is celebrating 10 times the KM of the best. Did you not see the anomaly in that ?!
Are you dumb
Dapo has been there for 5 years now, Otti is one year in. But somehow you still found a way to shamelessly measure their dic.ks
Can you ever compare Dapo's first year to that of Otti
Have some sense
It is too early to be stupid
That being said, Otti should start treating the workers well

You are just pained because you worked so hard obtaining a degree and yet not making so much

The PM said the truth, a lot of persons around the world has made money even when they are not university graduates

Here in Nigeria, there are some Master degree holders that can't get a N100k job.

Isn't it obvious he is right?

Education › Re: You Don’t Have To Go To University To Succeed In Life - Rishi Sunak by tishbite42: 3:59pm On May 30, 2024
WizardOfNG:
Point is that there are plenty of job that offer rewarding careers with good pay that do not require, as entry level qualification, a university degree as most white collar jobs do.

No one would be against young folks going to University per se and asking them to consider other careers , that do not require a first degree, is not targeted at reducing the number of young Brits attending Uni.

Sunak is probably looking at the literally thousands of well-paid vacancies, not needing a uni degree, young Brits can train to fill rather than immigrants continuously flocking in to take those jobs.
No matter how British he think he is, he's an immigrant
He's simply that outsider weeping more than the bereaved
What's happening in the UK happens everywhere irrespective of university education or not; the owners of the land tend to be picky when it comes to jobs
Education › Re: You Don’t Have To Go To University To Succeed In Life - Rishi Sunak by tishbite42: 3:03pm On May 30, 2024
WizardOfNG:
I can see the validity of your point but in my first response to this thread I made it clear my view that Sunak is right depends on the audience his message is targeted at and the contextual reference for the message.

Sunaks message is not wrong if targeted at a British audience and aimed at tackling the huge dearth of applicants for jobs , threatening to damage the UK economy, that do not require University degrees yet are crucial to the extent the UK and many nations of the world has to encourage inward migration to fill those vacancies.

I keep seeing well-paid HGV drivers (heavy goods vehicle) vacancies in Canada popping up somewhere , whether Nairaland or elsewhere.

Yet those vacancies would not exist if many young Canadians, considering their pay could be higher than graduates can earn, consider those jobs and then train for them instead of retaining an obsession with going to university in the belief such jobs are below them.

Such an outlook can create a lopsided job market with most young people seeking so-called prestigious white collar jobs, and then making those over-subscribed, whereas many well-paid jobs deemed as less prestigious are neglected creating serious shortfalls in the technical/health, hospitality sectors etal.

If Sunak is addressing the people he was elected to lead then he cannot allow his opinion, regarding what is best for the British electorate, to be policed by the needs of other nations and the rest of the world.

You did not provide a link so I could not discern the audience but, unless Sunak is speaking in Nigeria to Nigerians, the part in bold in your post is patently unfair to Sunak and unreasonable overall.

When is the PM of the UK under compulsion to automatically think about what is best for young Nigerians before talking about what is best for young Britons?
Are the prestigious white collar jobs made for spirits?!
Can't someone aspire to earn money in a blue chip way?!
