If you never liked to listen to the news before, you might need to make a change. At least for now to keep abreast of what's happening around the world and how it affects you.

What's trending now is the Corona virus ravaging the world, furiously shaking the economy and the norms of doing business.

I hope you don't think the effect is far from reaching you because it is closer to you than you think. Except you are just not informed and this piece is not to go into that detail. However , I recommend you follow medical guys like @Aproko doctor on Twitter.

My concern is what's happening beyond the financial metrics we see and hear. Beneath the numbers, there is so much emotional tension.

Why wouldn't there be ? When families are separated from each other, lots are losing their jobs, lots have to adjust their lifestyle painfully to suit their pockets plus the harshness of global warming. Bringing it home, we would be talking of the terrible heat we are facing , terrible state of road making going to work stressful, to mention a few.

That people are in fear, grieving for the losses they have to suffer and in pain due to the changes in business they have to adapt to are all leading to rising anger levels. The news may not tell you this, but I put it to you.

I can sense the heat so strongly and that's the reason behind the "Angry Bird hangout" I plan to host this Friday (20th) of March on whatsapp. As a matter of urgency, my goal is to help as at least 300 individuals properly process and express their anger in these times. With the current level of knowledge we have about this emotion, we may have a bigger issue in our hands like depression because of the guilt a lot of people have stemming from long held misconceptions.

More and more people need to know that it is perfectly human to feel anger. It is not a bad emotion. It is just an emotion and it is what we do about it that make or good or bad.

And one way of making anger good is learning how to express it positively.

What are you angry about?

How does it make you feel?

What do you know about anger?

I would like to hear from you in the comment section below.

To your emotional health,
Titilope James
