Monogees, Thanks for your post, and encouragement! It is good to know the international prospects of the Pipeline MSc and I'm really looking forward to September. I will be emailing you from time to time. Cheers. |
Hi Guys, I guess im in the right forum! I have been hoping to hook up with guys who have interest in the Pipeline Engineering field. I ought to be studying for the same MSc at Newcastle but couldnt secure a Visa from here, you know those people at the Embassy. I deferred my admission and should be coming this September by God's grace. That MSc offers great prospects even here in Nigeria and it is highly regarded by prospective employers - Chevron and the likes., The multidisplinary nature of the course also means that you can work in any sector where pipelines are used, and with increased investments in deepwater explorations in Nigeria, a pipeline engrg degree will put you in good stead for well paying job prospects. Log on to the Chevron Careers Centre- https://www.chevron.apply2jobs.com/index.cfm? Dosman what is the learning environment like? Do you get to go on field trips? Is there emphasis on work placeement while on your programme? there's so much to talk about, I am expecting your reply. |
Did you submit Payslips, Pay cheques, even though he is contract staff, I am sure there must be evidence to show who pays him/her. That is what the ECO meant by the origin of funds, income or other business, standing in isolation. You have to show how he/she came about about the money in his/her account. Not just presenting a bank account with millions of naira resting in it. @ Mr. Pataki Thank you for ur prompt response. I will work on getting his pay cheques and other evidence of income. Another reason given by d ECO is that sponsoring me will impose an additional burden on my sponsor since he is responsible for other people-his two young kids 2) ECO stated that the bank statement submitted was in his company name and he is not convinced he has access to these funds. Question is: 1)I have told him to do an affidavit attesting his willingness to sponsor, but will that be enough? 2)I also have a letter from his bank confirming him as the sauthorized signatory to this account, Am I good to go? |
Peeps in d house, In my Refusal letter, the ECO stated that my sponsor's documents stood largely in isolation as evidence of his financial circumstances and that in d absence of any other Business, income or origin of funds he wasn't satisfied that this presents a true reflection of his finances. Question is: what exactly does the ECO mean by origin of funds, income, or other business? Because during my application I submitted my Sponsor's Business Registration papers, Bank statements, letter of contract award (he gets contracts from the state govt), landed property deeds. I'm now in d process of appealing and I want to win d case so i need to know what documents to send this time to drown the ECO and time aint on my side. RESPONSES please, Mr. pataki, VOR, Funkybaby, etc, |
@ Ariston Many thanks for your comments and advice. I'm very positive that things will out out in my favor and in time too. I will send the remaining supporting documents especially my sponsor's affidavit (attesting his willingness to sponsor) once I receive the Notice of hearing. But what other documents can I send to knock off the ECO completely, I dont want to leave traces at all! Cheers, |
@ Ajile2 Write your school and inform them u r appealing d decision of the ECO. Ask for deferment till Sept. |
@ ARISTON, timx and Guseman. Hello guys, i must commend u all for sharing ur experiences on this forum. i've learnt a lot form this threads. I was refused a student visa in October'07 and I appealed the decision, i just got a notice of pending appeal from AIT giving the ECO till April 1 to send his bundle and all that, I drafted the grounds of appeal myself cos i felt the I had a good case. 1) The ECO claimed my sponsor's documents largely stood in isolation of his financial circumstances. The ECO said there was no origin of funds, i asked what other origin of funds were required again despite submitting my sponsor's business registration papers, tax clearance certificate, bank statement, Contract award papers when I applied for the visa. My sponsor runs a sole proprietorship business. i concluded the ECO's decision was very discriminatory and baseless! 2) The ECO said my sponsor is responsible for other people ( just 2 young kids) I defended this by saying my sponsor is my uncle-my mom's younger brother. he stated clearly in his sponsorship letter that he had set out a particular amount for my education and his two kids. i wonder why d ECO overlooked this declarations! 3)this was my strongest ground of appeal. The ECO goofed by insinuating that funds that there was no evidence of funds for my three year course of study (18,000pounds/yr i.e 54,000pounds for 3yrs) Meanwhile I applied for a 1year masters course. I simply concluded the ECO used templates and easily pasted those reasons without reviwing my application because these details were clearly stated in the admission letter, or was it a mere blunder? (laughing) 4) The ECO said the statement of account submitted wasnt in my sponsors name but in his company name. I defended that by saying his business papers establish the fact that he is the only one that has access to his funds since he's a sole proprietor. I also attached a letter from his bank confirming him as the authorized signatory to the account. Those were the grounds ohh, i hope i treated them well? My school resumes in September i hope the whole thing wont take too much time. What are the chances that the appeal will be allowed? I pray the ECO should overturn the decision once he realises his mistake! and Is there any need to send his statement of account to the AIT before the hearing? I'm waiting for ur replies, ARISTON, MR. PATAKI, VOR, |
