I'm not saying it's not valid to be worried. I just choose not to stress myself with things that I can't do much about. And the dude's post was a regurgitation of stuff I've already gotten tired of seeing on different platforms. So I said never mind me. Didn't know that would cause him to have a meltdown in my mentions.

So far Disney has handled the distribution of 2 anime shows I know of, Bleach and Summertime Render and that hasn't affected the quality of the viewing so far.

Only issue was with Summertime Render's release pattern, which is a similar issue Netflix and Amazon tend to have as well. And I completely understand if folks are worried about this.

At the end of the day, we mostly get our anime from pirate sites, so when Disney's influence starts to affect the quality of the anime on animepahe, then I'll worry.
Until then, anyone who wants to lose sleep on the issue should, as I said before, carry on and never mind me.

I wish nairaland had a way to send voice notes, that way I could get my message across clearer, plus I'm tired of typing.... I think it's time we fans fight back, beloved franchises like Star wars, Star treck, Dr who, Lord of the rings, marvel, DC, resident evil, even live action remakes of popular japanese IPs like cowboy bebop have all been ruined by american cooperate identity politics... Now with disney trying to get their grubby hands on anime, it's only a matter of time before they do the same.... But at least we still have hope, the japanese hate Western influence on their media and would mount a big push back.... I hope I got my message clear

The same way they ruined Star Wars and Marvel... Do you know the level of back and forth it took for them not to fu*k up bleach? They almost censored it because of the blood (disney has a no bloodshed or mildly extreme violence on screen)... I never read your previous post, and my criticism of blue lock is valid because it was neither made as a comedy nor parody of a sports anime. Blue lock was made to be a thrilling sports manga and for that to work, premise would have to be believable.

Dropped the anime...for now...not because of the art or the story per se(art and animation is top notch, story looks good, and I like the way that they made clear that no one is safe from being removed, even MC)....but because I don't think (Yes I know, it is a story, it is fantasy)...that you get a good football striker by the method espoused in the anime.......ie my disagreement with the philosophy of the training camp overwhelmed my suspension of belief.

All the strikers that we say 'won the world cup' for their countries, did so at the head of, or as part of amazing teams made up of equally amazing players, who could step up, assuming the star striker got injured. (See Brazil 1962).

Football is a team sport. Strikers are only as good as the team makes them to be, which is why Messi and Ronaldo have not won a world cup up till now, their teams were not good enough.

Need a good sport anime? All Out...about a rugby team made up of mostly new comers to rugby. Naturally they lose all their matches, except the last one in the anime.
Run with the wind....about a university athletics team, again made up of first timers, who do not win per se, but do enough to improve their university's ranking (and in the final episode, attract a lot of new and talented members after the old cohort graduate).

You might just be professor Xavier, because you just read my mind perfectly!!! I dropped blue lock manga after the first 2 chapters, it was just too silly. Only someone who doesn't watch football would think that it makes sense.
