Hello Guys, I have been an ardent reader for about 2months now.Reading through Nairaland actually gave me the confidence that I was going to get the Visa but unfortunately I was denied.

On the 6th of June 2018(sorry I am just posting this now), Beautiful Morning.Interview scheduled for 7:15AM ,I actually woke up around 4AM in other to avoid any stories that touch..took my bath,wore my well ironed starched Zara shirt on a pair of jeans,Pulled out one of my finest Massimo Dutti Loafers.I also sprayed my Tom-Ford Black Orchid perfume thinking all my effort would at least get me a Visa LOL.

The cabman I booked came to pick me up at 5:30am. On getting to the Embassy, "Oh boy come and see crowd"...I was already thinking in my mind that people are really suffering in this country o. How come this amount of people just want to travel out,Come and see people on suit and tie, it was really funny to me because I never expected such turn out. Anyway lets move to the koko.

VO- GoodMorning (with a smirk on his face)
VO- Why are you going to the US?
Me- Going on vacation
VO- Which City are you visiting?
Me- Upper Marlboro
Vo- Sorry where( Vo didn't hear properly, I was already thinking maybe Marlboro isnt a city)
Me- Upper Marlboro,Maryland.
VO- Oh Okay,For how long?
Me- Just 2 weeks
VO- What were you doing in Malaysia? (Apparently he saw a Malaysian Visa on my Passport,The passport was also issued in Malaysia though)
Me- Actually I did my First degree in Malaysia,I also visited Singapore and Vietnam.( All this was included on my DS-160)
VO was typing............
VO- Visited those places while in Malaysia?
Me- Yes
VO- Where do you work?
Me- I work with the XXXXXXXX Bank and I am a xxxx at the bank..... ( I actually explained this properly for some time)
VO- Are you Married or Single?
Me- Yes ( I actually thought I heard " Are you single"?
VO- I mean are you Married or Single?
Me- Oh , I am very single (with a smile).
VO- Okay, Have you ever travelled outside the country? Oh sorry I already asked....
Me- Its okay,No problem.
VO- Do you have kids?
Me- No I don't
VO- He looked at me and said sorry blahh blah blah, then He handed me the blue paper.

I didn't feel sad initially oh ,I shrugged everything off took the blue paper and stepped out arrogantly.

On getting outside, I started feeling bad and defeated. Many things started running through my head like(Where did I go wrong?, I got denied a Visa for real?, Why didn't he ask more questions? Why did he deny me? Its not like I am planning to stay in their country). I rarely get a NO for an answer so I felt really bad,defeated and confused.

I even had to branch a bar to break my fast(I am a Muslim) with a chilled Malta Guinness(God forgive me)..Please guys where did I go wrong? Its obvious travel history isn't enough.Besides all the people on the queue that went before me were denied.I guess I should have tried another country instead of facing such embarrassment at the US Embassy.
