Well.
First off, those dimples are not found in females only. You will find them in all humans provided they don't have too much subcutaneous fat to obscure it.
They are a visible Landmark for the posterior superior iliac spine, a point on one of the hip bones. There are multiple points in the body where your bones are close to the surface of your skin, and they have strong ligaments attaching them to the said overlying skin. Hence the dimpling seen in those points are because of the constant pull those ligament have on the skin.
So, no it's not from your grandma's "pressing" and neither are they "extra eyes"
