. he Boko Haram terrorist group on Friday recaptured Marte, a border town in the northern part of Borno State.

Security sources said members of the terrorist group, who fled Sambisa forest, had now regrouped in Marte.

Borno State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Zannah Mustapha, also confirmed the recapture of the town by Boko Haram terrorists during a press conference in Maiduguri.

“It is sad as we have been made to understand that Marte is today (Friday) completely fallen under the control of the insurgents, which to us is a very huge setback,” he said.

Mustapha raised the alarm that 600 women and girls had been dispatched by the terrorists as suicide bombers with the aim of causing multiple explosions in Maiduguri.

The deputy governor urged residents to be patient with the security agencies in spite of the attendant hardships caused by the dusk to dawn curfew imposed on Maiduguri.

He said, “It is unfortunate that we are experiencing yet another attack in Maiduguri at this time that we are thinking that the insurgency should have subsided following the taking over of Sambisa forest by the military.

“Our thinking was that every other place should have been blocked so that the insurgency would be curtailed to a restricted area, but that has not been the case because the insurgents have been fleeing to other communities.

“Initially, we were opposed to the suggestion by the military, but when we received a security report that about 600 women have been kitted as suicide bombers and are to be sneaked into Maiduguri during the attack, couple with the gory pictures of some of the women who detonated themselves during the attacks, we had no option than to okay the curfew.

“But the curfew has been relaxed from noon to about 5pm to ease the hardship and afterwards it may be reviewed. Our government is going to do everything possible by supporting the military to ensure that Maiduguri and other parts of Borno State are not attacked or taken over by the insurgents.”

The capture of Marte happened as soldiers sustained the 24-hour curfew imposed on Maiduguri, the Borno state capital on Thursday after Boko Haram terrorists attempted an invasion of the city on Wednesday night. .....

The United Kingdom Charity Commission says it has received many complaints about the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation in London concerning allegations of financial misconduct and conflicts of interest.

The UKCC’s spokesperson, Sarah Hitchings, told our correspondent in an email that the commission had also started a broad investigation into the matters because the foundation had violated its regulatory standards.

She said, “We have received complaints about this charity and issues including alleged conflicts of interest and alleged financial misconduct.

“We currently have an open case in relation to this charity and have been in contact with the trustees.

“We have recently become aware of further information about potential wrong-doing at the charity which is of regulatory concern to the commission and we are currently considering this new information. We cannot comment further while our case is live.”

Meanwhile, the commission refused to comment on any actions taken against the recently sacked London-based Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Anne Welsh, on allegations of money laundering.

“We cannot give information about a charge on the chief executive officer – this would be a question for the Police,” Hitchings added.

The Chief of Staff to former President Obasanjo, Mr. Victor Durodola, had told Saturday PUNCH that Welsh was relieved of her duties due to allegations of money laundering activities.

“It is true and it is sad,” he said, while commenting on the sacking of the former chief executive.

SaharaReporters had earlier obtained a video footage, which showed that Welsh was allegedly involved in plotting a $4.9m (N980m) scheme to exploit the Ebola Virus Disease tragedy in West Africa through helping a group of “Lebanese businessmen,” who wished to donate money to the Obasanjo Foundation for some works in Sierra Leone.

The footage revealed that the group demanded that it would make a donation of $2m (N400m) to the foundation if it helped it launder the balance of $2.9m, which Welsh agreed to.

“I had to go through training, through president Obasanjo, political training for one year to become discreet,” she said in the video,” adding that, “Sometimes, we get dollars from people who give money to our foundation and they say they don’t want it to be known that they donated the money, but they want to have a letter on our letterhead and a letter from Obasanjo just to say ‘Thank you’ for your kind donations to the foundation for the work to support Ebola.’ That’s it. That is what we normally do.”

Welsh had also demanded from the group an interest of 30 per cent on the $2.9m.

“At least 30 per cent; think about the hard work I’m going to put into this, you will be so grateful to me,” she said.

The video evidence had also showed that the group agreed to give her the 30 per cent, which was $90,000 (N180m), and detailed how the money would be transferred via a Nigerian bank..

Breaking News!!! — USA Based Consultant Says Result Released Does Not Belong To Retired General Muhammadu Buhari but Mohamed Buhari.

The controversy over the certificate forgery of the APC presidential candidate has taken another turn for the worst as a USA based forensic expert who analyzed the document claimed it does not belong to the General Muhammadu Buhari.

It should be recalled that a letter written by Buhari’s in 1961 and in the possession of the Nigerian Military spelled his name correctly as “Muhammadu Buhari” and the credits claimed by Buhari with the military included Health Sciences. Also, an application letter written to the military in the same year by Buhari himself bore the name Muhammadu Buhari.

It is surprising then to see the released result from Kastina State bearing Mohamed Buhari and also missing the Health Science recorded for Muhammadu Buhari with the Nigerian Army.

However, the obviously hurriedly done Result, apart from showing a wrong name (MOHAMMED BUHARI), omitted HEALTH SCIENCE from his result thus showing only 4 CREDITS and ONE PASS instead of FIVE CREDITS and ONE PASS as filled in his form in 1961 (without the army sighting any of the CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES of his result as filled).

We Nigerians lack reading culture and have developed an attitude of swallowing things line, hook and sinker. I asked myself several questions before identifying with GEJ's candidature.I took a stroll down the memory lane from 1983/85, I studied some high profile cases including Alex Ekwueme,Tai solarin, Sam Mbakwe. I studied Buhari's economic. strategies which later exacerbated our nation, I studied his intolerance to other religions, freedom of the press. I studied his decisions that bother on student unionism, corruption etc I studied his uprightness . Recently I have studied his speeches, a sharp reflection of his state of mind, have also studied the intents of his new found lovers in the likes of Atiku, Tinubu, Amaechi etc.Our problem is the doubt over the government we set over ourselves while thinking we are being critical of government. Our problem in Boko haram is not about the competence of Jonathan but our disunity of purpose. Johnson wrote , while GEJ was comfortably on top of the situation in 2012/13, Mr Buhari and other Northern elders were accusing him of partiality against the North and recommended that GEJ should stop military offensive against the terrorists in favour of amnesty. It will interest you to know that he collects #2.3 million on monthly basis as his retirement benefits , yet no foundation for the poor, empowerment of any kind, no scholarship whatsoever has been recorded.He told us he has ‪#‎1million‬ in his account ,alas, his. daughter pays €30000 yearly in a foreign university, equivalent of #8 million. He claimed to have fought corruption but under his nose Abacha emptied our treasury. I do not wish to remember the 52 cases, Ibrahim Awwal's £14 million. He once argued that all ACN governors are corrupt, he said they award 1 kilometer road at ‪#‎1billion‬ . He accused El-rufai , Atiku, Bisi Akande Tinubu etc of corrupt practices. The good news is, they are now change agents and their sins washed away. A thief and a beneficiary of a stolen product are culpable of same crime. Suffice it to say Buhari is corrupt. What economic decision has he made? Stopping Jakande Lagos mono rail at the detriment of $72million tax payers money? Dismissing 30000 soldiers to cut cost, stopping of Ajaokuta steel?. Now he has promised #5000 to unemployed at least to encourage lack of creativity and idleness, he has promised to feed school children, help Ebonyi state produce more yams and stabilize price of oil in the foreign market . If any voter can employ the like of Buhari to head his organization especially on foreign engagements with experts , then the person mean no good for Nigeria. On GEJ, I have noticed a style, steady and noiseless transformations. I can remember what Shagari said " We can't get it at once but we are getting it" Have you asked how many people Sure-P , youwin have employed? Have you noticed the decline in the importation of Agric produce? Have
you seen the airports, railways and road networks? You believe your votes can count, any kudos for that? Have you studied the automobile policy that has allowed Innoson, kia, Nissan etc build and assemble cars in Nigeria aimed at employing citizens? Have you accessed the BOI, Agric and SME loans? Have you noticed the number of ghost workers detected through IPPS thereby saving #46 billion? What of fertilizer fraud , heard anything from that quarter? Use of technology. Have you say thanks for the 12 universities built, over 130 Almajiri schools, over 60 healthcare facilities, improvement in power generation, gender equality etc? What has APC done in their various states? Which APC state is enjoying free education?. Buhari complained of the 16 woeful years under PDP. Was he referring to Atiku, Amaechi, Gemade, Rochas, Tambuwal ,Sylvia, Kwankwaso, Saraki,Ogbe etc? Buhari represents achange to dackness. 1.Muhammadu Buhari or Mohamed Buhari?Which one to accept as the official name.
2.What stopped Gen Buhari from contacting his former school to ask for this WASC result instead of swearing to an affidavit in the last 3 elections?Why
3.Buhari once claimed his original(plus copies)academic record are with the Military. What happened next? Claims and counter-claims.
4.Buhari once claimed all his certificates got missing when IBB detained him.
5.Secondary school education during Buhari era ended with Form/Class 5 not Class 6 as seen in this attached certificate.
6.The Army recently said only 'Letter of recommendation' from his school principal was submitted before Buhari was allowed to join the army not WASC result.
7.If Buhari's foreign military trainings and courses are equivalent to postgraduate degrees. Why can't he submit his highest qualifications like President Jonathan instead of hanging on to ordinary high school certificate till today?
8.Why waiting till today to release his WASC result?To win sympathy votes?
