Gbajabiamila Resigns From House Of Reps After 20 years

After 20-year sojourn in the House of Representatives, the immediate-past Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, has resigned his membership of the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.

Gbajabiamila, who was sworn-in as a member of the House for the 6th term on Tuesday, tendered his resignation letter to the new Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, at plenary on Wednesday.

In the letter, the one-time Majority Leader of the House said it was to enable him assume duty as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

President Tinubu had on Friday, June 2, 2023 appointed Gbajabimila as his Chief of Staff at a meeting with Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).

Before tendering his resignation letter, Gbajbiamila had moved the first motion of urgent public importance in the 10th House on the “Need to Commence Active Measures to Mitigate the Probable Devastation of a Severe Flood Season and prepare Palliative Intervention to Prevent the worst Socio-Economic Consequences for Nigerians in the Affected Areas.”

On April 17, 2023, Davido hosted a press conference to discuss plans for his upcoming concert.

Davido released his fourth album on March 31, 2023, and the highly anticipated album has performed wonderfully well since its release. After some time away from the scene, the award-winning star is back to give fans an unforgettable experience.
He first performed songs off his new album in Irvine Plaza New York before dazzling fans in London. Davido also performed two songs off the album on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'.

The megastar is set to perform the album for the first time in Nigeria in a show at Tafawa Balewa Square Lagos (TBS) on April 23, 2023. TBS is regarded as West Africa's biggest concert ground as it can hold an excess of 50,000 persons.

At a press conference held on April 17, 2023, in Lagos Nigeria, Davido spoke to the press about the 'A Timeless Night' concert which he promises to be an exciting experience. While addressing the press, Davido reassured fans that he has visited the Lagos State Commissioner of Police who promised to beef up the venue with extra security.

The concert is set to attract all levels of Davido fans as there is a ticket which goes for 20,000 naira while the highest sells for millions.
