Okrika has always been so called. It is neither Ijaw nor portharcourt itself. It is peopled majorly by settlers from Igboland and quite a number of them are Igbo speakers.

Before we were unjustly balkanized into more than six States all to weaken our unity when we are in one accord, fully together and not scattered by nature, even before this time, we were Ijaw people before we became Nigerians.

We hereby conclude that Port Harcourt South Metropolis areas as belong to Wakirike (Okrika) Ijaw Subgroup of which the Metropolis is nearly as large as Yenagoa Metropolis if not larger would from today be known as Wakirike City in order to avoid Okoloba and Okuama errors.
Areas like Town, Amadi ama, Tere ama, Ogoloma, Abuloma, Borokiri, Okrika among others would be known as Wakirike City.



Urhobo had named their part of Warri as Wado City and may not have followed it up enough but in this regard, we will.
Inscriptions in Ijaw areas of Port Harcourt would also carry the Wakirike City just like the Wado City in Warri own did.
