It's probably what they say it is. "Hold on, we're not done".
They probably got lots of messages and calls from the interviewed candidates requesting for updates and decided to send this out.
Only thing now is, we're not sure if they're done with their selections. It seems a bit cruel to people that have moved on post-interview sha, cos this looks like a glimmer of hope. Hopefully they don't dash their hopes again.

That is why I feel it is weird. They could just have sent a rejection mail instead of an holding mail

Candidates that didn't make it to the interview didn't get that email, even though their status still reads "in progress". I don't think it's a programmed message.

Yes, it seems like everyone that was interviewed got the "hold-on" mail.

It is their ATS programming then. Send an holding mail to all candidates after some months of being on the system. Why not just send rejection mails if they have moved on.

So basically everybody that did the interview got the holding mail

There is no need for “tracking”. people talk and share .if you are in the right spaces. facilities engineers are the most recent I can confirm and got theirs since the 17th

Based on the WhatsApp group it seemed 2 people got the background test mail for Software Engineering. The interview was on the 12th
