Hi guys....This is the solution I got.

My nephew had the same problem (itel 1353). I used the combination of the volume buttons + power button (as suggested in the thread). I did this several times, all I kept getting was the same as what the guys here got....different option list without reset option, exclamation mark in a triangle on top of a phone, but the Google password block was still there. So I went online to research and someone suggested changing the Google account details online. So I opened Gmail on my tab, I was lucky to guess all sorts of username (I had an idea, but not the exact name). I used the 'help' /forgotten password option (you can select forgotten username as well), followed the instructions and successfully changed the password. However, when I tried to log into the phone with the changed password, it won't allow me.
So I went online again and did more research, and I realised I needed to remove the old sim and insert a different sim that has data into the phone. I logged in, and the phone opened telling me to draw a new pattern. Note: the phone was back to factory setting (I think all the volume + power button combinations had actually reset the phone).
