Politics / Re: Accountant-general Knows Debt Profile –aregbesola by Tolumiide: 10:45am On Dec 17, 2022
IsaacAdetunji1:
Accountant-General knows debt profile –Aregbesola

The former Governor Aregbesola has reacted to the development, saying the Accountant-General of the state should be in a better position to give the true particulars of the indebtedness of the state.

Reacting to the statement by Oyebamiji on the contention that the debts were incurred by his government, Aregbesola, through his media aide, Mr Sola Fasure, said the impasse was between Adeleke and Oyetola, and so he should not be in the picture.

While attempting that he took loans, he said the two major ones he took had been liquidated while “the other ones are long-term concessional facilities (given to the state) by the Federal Government” with minimal monthly deductions.

Aregbesola said: “I will suggest that you look at all the loans and get to the Accountant-General of the state at Abere. I think the AccountantGeneral or the Permanent Secretary (Finance) would have better information because it is the Accountant-General that raised a memo based on the query of the governor.

“The Accountant-General, in reply to the query of the governor, stated the condition of the loans and the loans that are outstanding. He is the most knowledgeable about the loans by the state as the custodian of the account of the state. They should count Aregbesola out of it.”

He said the loans collected by the Aregbesola government had been liquidated, saying “was it Aregbesola that took a loan of N18billion after he lost the election? The two major loans Aregbesola took have been liquidated. They were the Sukkuk loan and the other ones were long-term concessionary facilities by the Federal Government which have a long span repayment terms. The deductions are minimal and they are not deductions that will infringe on finances of the state. The two major loans taken by Aregbesola have been liquidated.”

He said: “The matter is between the Adeleke and Oyetola administrations because the Aregbesola debts have been liquidated. It was not Aregbesola that took the N18 billion loan that was taken after the election. Oyetola took some other loans, including salary support from the Federal Government.

“They caused the problem for themselves. If they had set up a transition committee and if they had cooperated well with the incoming governor after they had lost election, there would have been a smooth change of government.

“They would have compared notes and there would be no rancour. But he was busy sowing mines on the path of the incoming governor, creating problems for him, and spending money with reckless abandon. What did he do with N18 billion? Now the new government is fighting back. If the new government takes the matter up to the EFCC, there would be problems for the Oyetola administration.

“They should count Aregbesola out of their problems because out of the three loans he took, two have been liquidated. It is only the long-term debt that is remaining and only the Accountant-General can give us the status of the loan because it is no longer what it was because deductions are being made.”
Imagine this man statement about this issue. Can you see the level of people that are governing us ?

Truth be told, the loan is fucking too much for a state like Osun, the infrastructures in place does it match with the debt on ground.

He should investigate what those billions was used for.

I wish Adeleke well, he should face the music as the government is continuum.
Learn to read and understand the fact. The previous government didn't borrow the money. It was the debt inherited by them and they even paid over 20% of the debt, that's huge and Adeleke Government should work hard to do the same.

What he's complaining about is unnecessary. It shows he knows nothing about governance. I took my time to look at all the published details. None shows that the previous government borrowed money. I pray we are not making more mistake by considering PDP because we want anything but APC. I supported him too.

Recently, my partner was operated for fibroid at an hospital at ikorodu. On a fateful day that I was to go pick her up from the hospital, I was driving through Oshodi so I decided to pick up some passengers to subsidise for fuel cause I've been so spent at the moment.

After picking up like just three passengers, the agbero boys asked for money, so I was like "with how many passengers now"? Omo the guys just went haywire, saying I was forming big boy for them, and next thing was to call one guy who just stood looking at us from a short distance. Next thing was guy showed up oo. I thought it was a joke, next was I found my car at the LASTMA office at oshodi.

I cried to use the emotional weapon cause I was truly distressed. Showed them the huge fibroid that was removed from my partner, even showed them her state at the hospital at that very moment. Omo this guys still collected 17k from me ooo. Hmmmm. I can't explain how I felt in words.

These guys are just evil. Most of them. They no longer manage the traffic they were set up to manage, now all they do is major in torturing and robbing honest working Citizens in the name of traffic offences!
Sorry about your experience. They've collected ₦23000 from me too at that Oshodi office, and I paid their useless vulcaniser a mandatory ₦1000. If you go there everyday, you will see alot of frustrated motorists there everyday, our government can not claim they don't know about their activities, I don't believe that. There's a no snapping of pictures instructions by the management at the right hand side of the compound. So you're not allowed to make record.

Till tomorrow, I still don't know or understand why Nigerians are taking side with ASUU.

ASUU as a union is not considering the students.

The President
The Minister of Education
The Minister of Labour

All their children are not schooling in Nigeria. They're not affected in any way, if you like strike in the 30 years, e no concern them.

Most of the ASUU members, their children are schooling in private universities.

The lecturers will shut the school against innocent average Nigerians for 8 months and still be feeling entitled, yet average Nigerians are still supporting them undecided

ASUU don dey go strike for ages with no result, and they're still striking. Are there no other better ways to express their grievances? It's only a fool that will be doing same thing over and over again and be expecting different result.
Please suggest a better way to express their grievances and I will upvote it. Before they went on strike, they had exhausted all available means of negotiations including a warning strike. Just as you rightly said, most of the politicians children are schooling abroad, but you're wrong for saying ASUU members children are in private universities, where will they get the money from. It's like you didn't pass thru our educational system here, it's in a poor state.

Politics / Re: Unjustified Persecution Of Senator Prof. Ike Ekweremadu by Tolumiide: 8:39am On Nov 06, 2022
kingsways:
Unquantifiable Service to His Country
Ike Ekweremadu, a Professor of Law has been on the Nigerian Senate for about 20 years out of which he served as Deputy Senate President for 12 years. Amongst other major contributions, As DSP he chaired the Constitution Review Committee which successfully made several useful adjustments and additions to the Nigerian constitution. 20 years is a long time in the life of any man, and the magnitude of Service and sacrifice of a man who devoted the most youthful and productive part of his life to the Service of his Country is hardly quantifiable.

The Evil Donor
Ekweremadu's travails started as he sought, as every reasonable parent would do, to find a solution to his daughter's illness. Unfortunately, he met an evil donor who turned rogue in the UK and lied about everything including his age until his BVN and account opening details in Nigeria clearly showed he is not a minor as he intended to claim. As a result, Ekweremadu has been unjustly detained in the UK, even though he wrote to the British High Commission in Nigeria clearly disclosed the purpose of his visit prior to travelling.

Abandoned By the Country He Served
Ike Ekweremadu a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has now been unjustly detained, as he has not been found guilty of any offence, for more than three months without his country, the country he served with the prime of his youth, doing anything meaningful to help him or diplomatically resolve the issue. The APC government in power in Nigeria in failing to lift a finger to help the Senator fails to see the big picture, that this is not just about Ekweremadu but about respect and dignity of Nigeria, her representatives, and her people. A Country who abandons her people in time of need necessarily raise the question whether such country is worthy of being served in the first place.

A Cowardly Attempt to Take Over His Assets
NO one ever got any asset forfeiture judgment against Ekweremadu while he was Nigeria and moving to secure such at a time he mostly needs support and is not around to defend himself is in bad faith and Cowardly to say the least. Anyone who has worked hard to attain the position of Professor of law can legitimately own a sizable amount of wealth and assets. It is preposterous for anyone to think that someone who has served in the Senate for 20 years cannot own a sizable amount of wealth and assets. I do not see how mere ownership of assets is now an offence. In any case, the Nigerian Senate is not a one-man show and Ekweremadu has never been in a position to determine what happens to monies belonging to the entire Senate.

But God is Over All
Fortunately, no man has the power of the Almighty. God is over all. He is able to save. He is just and righteous. He has the power to kill and He has the power to make alive. His judgment is always right and just because He is Omnipresent and Omniscient

You again, well done sir
He didn't serve this country, he served his pocket and that of his family and friends. Which country did he serve, a country that becomes poorer while they become richer, a country where none of his children or family is staying. Is it not even a thing of shame to serve as a senator for that long and still seek medical attention abroad, which law has he been making for the service of the people.

Yes sir, I didn't say he has the power to build, I used the word "push". He can lobby others to push for it. They can make law to establish for the to world class hospital in each state. They know how to get things done when it will put more money in their pockets, but they will become handicap and blame the executives when it involves Nigerians. Somethings are not just about the individual involved but are about the honour and dignity of the country as a whole

Ekweremadu is not just a serving Senator but a three time Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Failure of the Buhari led FG to lift a finger to try to diplomatically resolve the Ekweremadu case is condemnable, in bad faith, and bad for the image and dignity of the country Nigeria.

And it is not like Ekweremadu committed any offence that is out of this world. He wrote to the the British High Commission and clearly communicated the purpose of his visit to the UK. This is just a loving parent trying to work out a solution to his daughter's illness.

It is obvious that the supposed victim had lied about many things including claiming that he was minor. And whatever be the case, the supposed victim is still hale and hearty!

Detention of Ekweremadu for months, even when he has been found guilty of any offence is completely unacceptable!!

His detention is unacceptable by you because you wrote the UK law.
I usually Watch border security and real responder on YouTube, this shows how UK and Australia handle immigration things according to law, they genuinely attends to individuals according to their law. If you are found guilty, they will make several consultation with every law enforcement agencies before they will deliver judgement. Be rest assured that he will be released if he's innocent or he will be jailed if he's guilty.
If he had used his position to push for a standard world class hospital in the east, he would not have been in this situation today because over 100 donor will be willing to donate.
I wish his daughter quick recovery.

Politics / Re: What's The Sense In Obi Comparing Nasarawa's Size To That Of Israel? by Tolumiide: 11:39am On Oct 30, 2022
OsunOriginal:

So, Israel is the only country lesser in size than Nasarawa that's doing well?
The size of Singapore is 726(km)2 while that of Israel is 20,770(km)2. Whereas...
Israel has a GDP per capita of $36,400 as of 2017, while in Singapore, the GDP per capita is $94,100 as of 2017
So, what's special about Israel other than the usual religiosity and an attempt by good-for-nothing politicians to whip up sentiments instead of telling the people what they plan to do if elected as president.

I will stop mentioning you henceforth, this post made it clear that you have something against Isreal, by extension anyone that make reference to the country, hence, Peter Obi. The point on discussion is agriculture, and now you jumped to GDP.
Israel is a country at war, always fighting to survive.

You said Israel is No1 in agriculture and I shared the top 10 in agriculture with you. Israel is not even in the top 25 countries. So, we can say you were just talking ignorantly.

Now, back to size, there are countries even with far less land mass than Israel and are doing far better in agriculture than Israel. I don't have anything against Israel or any other country, I can't just understand why crooks (calling themselves politicians) would want to use anything, especially religion to deceive the poor people.

Note: I don't give a shit about any religion and for this reason, if anybody tries to use religion to hoodwink people, I will call him out. What Obi is doing here is bringing the usual religious nonsense into electioneering. Unfortunately, INEC is looking helplessly - if I were INEC chairman, I would disqualify him immediately. Anybody who brings religion into election should be disqualified - criminals shouldn't be allowed to mix up politics with religion.

1) I didn't say Isreal is No 1 in agriculture.
2) No smaller nation is doing as good as Isreal in agriculture. Singapore, Qatar, Kuwait and Luxembourg import over 50% of their agricultural products. Which other smaller countries can you now mention.
3) I don't think he said anything wrong that deserves being disqualified. Atiku did, nothing has happened. The race is like a contact sport, fouling is allowed, some will get yellow cards, some no cards will be shown. You mean you will show red card for Messi because he dribbled a player and the player fell down badly. Please let's play this game fairly.

I advised you to engage your brain before responding, still you didn't. A man who doesn't research and learn through reading is a dead man.

Below are the 10 top agricultural producing nations in the world.

1. China
2. US
3. Brazil
4. India
5. Russia
6. France
7. Mexico
8. Japan
9. Germany
10. Turkey

https://www.tractorjunction.com/blog/top-10-agricultural-producing-countries-in-the-world/

Comparison can only be made between two similar things.
Isreal land mass is 22,145 km²
Nasarawa land mass is 27,117 km²
Greater than that of Isreal and it can not feed herself unlike Isreal that have no arable land, in most cases, import soil, and export agricultural products, look at sound comparison.

Our intelligent OP, is mentioning Russia, with a land mass of 17.1 million km²
China - 9.597 million km²
USA - 9.834 million km²
