justwise: Please start new part of this thread.
Thank you Good day everyone. My question is not related to this but I would still like to ask just incase someone has the information i need. I have a valid b1/b2 tourist visa valid till 2029. i have previously been in the US about 3 times before now and I plan visiting again in March 2026. I bought my roundtrip ticket last year with the intention to visit a family friend and stay there for about 4 months. However, with the recent updates and news flying around, I heard that the i-94 stamped for people who have travelled this year is just a few days ( hearsay). Now my question is this, should i carrry on with my plan of staying in the US from march to July (4 months) or reschedule my return flight to stay for just a few weeks? If i carry on with my previous plan of spending 4 months, will i be admitted by the CBP officer or will my duration of stay raise unnecessary questions/concerns or even denial at the port of entry? Any advice or useful information from recent travelers will be appreciate. Thanks in advance. |

We are trying to book flights now and we see that united airlines will layover in texas for 2 hrs nd go from there. Do we need a transit visa to do this? Does anyone have any info please? You will need a transit visa or a tourist visa to pass through (transit) through any airport in the US. |

IjeObi: Hi everyone. Please, did anyone who paid their B1/B2 visa fees within April 2025 get an interview date in Abuja for June or July? Is November the earliest date for Abuja at this time or can a person get a much earlier date? The earliest you can get in Abuja as of today is November. However, after selecting a date in November, you may apply for expedited if you qualify. |

pathinv: The whole dates in Lagos is already occupied in 2025 till April2026.... Although if you are vigilant you will still get one or two dates between March and April 2026. I get Monday 30th march 2026 for one of my 3clients this morning. So stay online 24/7 I think you will get or you can render services of some guys. But the whole Lagos dates in both remaining months of 2025 till April 2026 are already occupied. Customer support are limited to some questions especially date of interview matter they have no access to that only to clear errors or sort out some others issues. Thanks for the advice, the calender for Lagos is curently opened and I just got a date for April 2026. I hope this helps anyone who is in a similar boat. |

Efetobore1980: What you can do is to raise a ticket or email the embassy or keep waiting . It is the onus of all visa applicant to research and verify their appointment location before they chose a post.
No matter how urgent you want an appointment you cannot rush or force the US embassy out of their yearly , monthly, weekly or daily allotted calendar routings except if your case qualifies for emergency appointment. 👍 Thanks for the response. It is well appreciated. The appointment for me is not even urgent. It is just that I can not get to select any date, not even 2029. I have raised a ticket as suggested, and I have been advised to kep checking until the calender is open for Lagos location cos currently, it is totally closed. |

Debbieeeeeee: There’s a new rule that your location should match on both ds 160 and appointment location. Regardless you should contact customer service and refer to relevant publications. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIgPiuupCHy/?igsh=YWRnMjhyeGczdzNo Thanks for the advice. I ave contacted the customer service but the response I got was that there is really no date for Lagos, not even 2026, the calender stops at 2025 so will it be ok to wait and keep checking util dates are made available and I hope my visa fees will not have expired by then? |

Efetobore1980: Hello Tomi. If you select Abuja you are applying against the rule and regulation of the US embassy but you will still be interviewed. In this respect you have to follow your mind.
If you are ready to pull the stunt pick Abuja and fill another ds-160 indicating your Abuja post in the beginning. You must update your ds 160 after this and print another visa appointment letter.
Note: This kind of stunt is very likely to have repacaution because the system will retain your initial Lagos post despite the fact that your ds 160 is now aligned with your location and matched your appointment letter. 👍 Thanks for your swift response. But then what do i do since dates are not available in Lagos? Do I just keep checking until there are dates? Also, I hope the 1 year validity of the visa fees will not expire before the dates for Lagos are open? I will appreciate your advice on this. I am not eager to get a date, I noly want to ensure my fees does not waste due to unavailable dates |

Please can someone kindly guide me on my current situation with getting US tourist visa appointment in Lagos consulate. I already filled my DS-160 form, selected Lagos as my desired location, submitted and made payment. On getting to the appointment page to select a date, the website says here is no available date in my location (Lagos). I changed it to Abuja and I found that there are available dates in Abuja. Can I select Abuja and then go for the interview or do i need to fill another Ds-160 form to choose Abuja as my location and I hope I dont have to make another payment or what is the way forward. I will appreciate your advice on this. |
