Yes, I Can Confirm, It's Amaechi's Voice. By Olawale Olaleye Since my brother and friend, the Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi started trending with a supposedly leaked audio, where he was heard crucifying his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari, friends and colleagues had sent me different versions, seeking to know if it was his voice. I'm confirming that now. It's his voice. Oh, they also wanted to know if he actually said those things about the president. Again, he did, clearly not in the context of what has been flying around. What you have been listening to is the doctored version of his encounter with the blackmailers, who had been on his case in over five months, asking for money and threatening to release the tape close to the election period. So, let's talk about some of the things he said. In one instance, he said there was poverty in the land in Buhari's three years of leadership and concluded that conversation with the fact that the solution to Nigeria's problems was to kill everyone. Any intelligent person would have noticed the incoherence in the start-up line and the end note. Something was missing. The missing line was where he said the reason people were complaining was because there was no access to freebies and so, they blamed Buhari for impoverishing them. Therefore, if we were averse to fighting corruption, the solution was in killing everyone. But that part had been taken off. Interestingly, it is one analysis Amaechi does everytime and we fight over it because I personally don't like the sound of it that we are broke only because we no longer have access to cheap money. On that, the blackmailers and their sponsors failed. Two, there is the line he allegedly said the president did not care and could not read. Terrible lot! This was made to appear as if he was denigrating Buhari. Again, they lied and cheaply so. The issue was about the criticisms of the president as an indication that he was no longer wanted by the people. Like he is wont to say: the president does not care. He does not even read them. But again, that too was cut out of context to suit their predetermined plot of putting him in a place of discomfort and clearly at loggerheads with the president. If you listened to that bit very clearly, he even urged them at that point to report that aspect, noting that the president laughs over such uninformed criticisms. The manipulation here was very unsmart and tawdry. The aspect of the citing of a university in Daura and another in his own village was quite unintelligent by those who pushed it out. Indeed, it was the point he asked that it should not be published. He felt a need as a minister to do that for his people and the president's people too. Please, tell me what is wrong in that and I shall give you a million reasons why it is in order? It is called development politics and practically spot-on. Till today, one of the things being used against former President Olusegun Obasanjo is that he did not make any conscious effort to develop or cite any major project in his home state let alone South-west. The presidential library is being dismissed as personal and a product of corruption. So, what is wrong in Amaechi bringing development to Daura and his own village? After all, today, Obasanjo and the late military ruler, Sani Abacha do not occupy the same place in the hearts of their people. In Kano, Abacha remains a hero, because he took development to his people. In Ogun, go and find out how they see Obasanjo. On this, Amaechi is on the right path and the matter is open to debate. Whoever are the blackmailers behind the audio, pained that Amaechi refused to accede to their demands, which they would have further used against him, should try something else. They can't set Amaechi against the president. He doesn't just love Buhari, he had envisaged his presidency two years before the election of 2015 and gave his all to see it materialise. He nurses no regrets and he's determined to fight to see Buhari return even though we always disagree on this. I don commot for that bus tey tey. Please, let the opposition try something else; something more creative, instructive, debatable and wowing. This one is dead on arrival. Wawuuuuuu!!! |

The ex-chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, has cited reasons why Nigerians should give President Muhammadu Buhari another term of four years in office. He said Mr Buhari is refocusing the country and impacting on the lives of common Nigerians. He said the opposition against the president will be “roundly defeated.” Mr Ribadu was speaking in Yola on Monday at a ceremony to unveil Black Cap Revolution Movement for Mr Buhari and his running mate, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo The event witnessed the hand over of his gubernatorial campaign structure, campaign offices and vehicles for the reelection bid of Mr Buhari. Mr Ribadu aspired for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State but lost to incumbent Mohammed Jibrilla. He said the upcoming presidential election is a referendum between a past “that should forever be forgotten and a new chapter of probity and accountability”. The one time presidential candidate said he and his supporters will work assidiously to ensure sound victory of President Buhari in Adamawa State. He appealed to APC supporters in the state to work towards doubling votes secured by President Buhari in the last election, during the February election. “There is consensus among Nigerians of goodwill. Nobody wants return of those faces that are synonymous with our failure as a country. We have moved on, we should not allow them to drag us back. “For the past three years EFCC and others have been struggling to recover wealth stolen from this country within just a few years. We are happy now that such wanton stealing is not happening. We should not allow those who have no problem with stealing our wealth to get back on the wheels,” he said. He said the people of Adamawa State have no reason not to support President Buhari due a number of achievements of the administration. “This state is a farming state. Our farmers have been supported through Anchor Borrowers. We now have fertiliser all over. “In terms of infrastructure, Adamawa is witnessing massive revolution. A number of roads are currently ongoing in the state. We have never had it so good,” he said. Mr Ribadu also gave Mr Buhari the credit for the return of peace to the state which he said was not the case in 2015. “Many communities in Adamawa State were under Boko Haram occupation. The capital, Yola, was being threatened but today everyone is at peace, all displaced persons have been relocated to their towns.” The former director general of the Ribadu Campaign Organisation, Salihu Bawuro, said Mr Ribadu and his campaign council agreed to hand over vehicles and other resources donated to the Ribadu campaign to the presidential campaign of President Buhari, because of shared values. “Apart from our campaign directorate at the centre, and zones, we have structures of active youth, women and others in all wards of the state. We will all go out to ensure our beloved president is successful in the polls,” he said. Mr Bawuro said his campaign office in the the state capital and the 21 local governments of the state have been redesigned “for the new mandate.”

HOW PDP DESTROYED NIGERIA ECONOMY BY USSIJU MEDANER Having witness the 16 years reign of PDP it is very difficult for me to understand why any Nigerian would still want the party anywhere close to Aso Rock. Some claimed that Buhari is not the solution to Nigeria problem and so would rather go back to the initiators of the problem. Naturally, all Nigerians are supposed to stand individually and collectively to prevent the return of the master treasury looters anywhere near the treasury. PDP must be of the opinion that Nigerians have short memories else they would not have been so bold to come to the street asking for votes. But today, PDP once again taking advantages of the poverty they indirectly inflicted on the people by their 16 years of misrule, will today present a man with unclear burden of corruption within the country and beyond, as their presidential candidate. Since PDP thought all Nigerians suffer shared loss of memory, I will take it upon myself to help joggle their memory back. The atrocities of PDP against Nigeria people and the commonwealth of the country are enormous and cannot be easily exhausted but I will attempt to remind us of a few of such gross disregard for decorum and sanctity of government during the reign of PDP. Today Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential aspirant and his foot soldiers has been so busy painting picture of a Buhari government that turn upside down all the gains of the past and has bastardized the economy, turn the country to an unemployment haven and have nothing good to offer the nation. They boldly say this because they believe Nigerians are all short sighted. So for the benefit of those who may have forgotten or those who were not aware, these facts were what define the entire 16 years of PDP usurping of the commonwealth of Nigeria and the legacy they handed over to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Before 2015, those who masterminded the coordination of the economy at different times for the PDP government have these to say: Prof Charles Soludo , a once Governor of the Central Bank under PDP said whoever wins 2015 presidential election will never find it easy to govern the country. He said over 30 trillion is mismanaged, unaccounted for or missing under the Jonathan supervision. The Soludo outburst came a while before Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi , the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank attacked the Jonathan government with the accusation of over US$20 billion unremitted to the Federation account. In 2014, Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi said if nothing is done by 2015 upward, Nigeria will know what economic crisis is. Dr Ngozhe Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy under Jonathan, Mrs Okonjo Iweala in several interview said "I told them to save ahead of eventualities but Jonathan had no political will to do so and this is the reason why we are in crisis, because we squandered our boom." Peter Obi, the then Governor of Anambra State(;the current PDP Vice presidential candidate ) agreed with, Mrs Okonjo Iweala. He said "Okonjo-Iweala and Sanusi urged us to save but we state Governors refused to save for the unseen future during the tenure of Goodluck Jonathan, despite warnings from economic experts." Having recollected the magnitude of the atrocities perpetrated by the combined PDP administrations, it is also very necessary that I jolt our memory back to what happened to all these monies that were wrongly appropriated under the PDP. The EFCC was established under the same PDP but was blind to what was happening to the economy came alive under President Buhari and in no time got unbelievable confession that should define out decision now and in the future. For your perusals, here are some of these confessions: ON DASUKIGATE; 1. When questioned, the erstwhile security adviser to the government of Jonathan said all his actions; the monies taken and misappropriated were all with permission of the President (Jonathan). Jonathan responded saying I didn’t give such orders. We are talking of US$2.1billion that was taking under the guise of fighting insurgency but overtly between the duo ended up on the street in the pockets and accounts of their cronies. 2. Bode George when questioned by EFCC said he only collected $30,000 from Dasuki not N100m as accused. 3. Dokpesi of AIT said he was given only #2.1billion for publicity by Dasuki 4. Atahiru Bafarawa collected his own in tranches. For SPIRITUAL PURPOSES , he collected #4.6billion from Dasuki. He collected another #100million through Yuguda( former minster). 5. Iyorcha Ayu collected #350million from dasuki for CONSULTATION. 6. Obaigbena of the Thisday magazine was the beneficiary of N650M from Dasuki for his Abuja burnt office as if it had become the responsibility of the government to rebuilt 7. Dasuki also volunteer the information that President Jonathan gave him the order to change N10billion to foreign currency for PDP delegates 8. Shekarau during questioning admitted that 950m was shared in his house 9. during questioning, Dasuki's account officer said my boss asked me to get $11M from the CBN The list is endless from the inglorious Dasukigate, but that was not the end: • Patience Jonathan is claiming the $31m traced to dubious companies are rightfully hers and she has sued the Nigerian state. • Femi Fani-Kayode took 740million. • Dasuki used trucks to load over $35billion from the CBN. • Olisa Metuh took 400million. • Aziboala, GEJ's cousin took 6billion naira. • Nenadi Usman took 3.5billion naira. • Fayose took 3billion naira. • Obanikoro took 4billion naira. • Olu Falae took 100million naira. • Tony Anenih – 400million naira. • Oritsejafor - $35million • Former Air Chief Amosu – 2billion naira. • Lucky Igbinedion-16billion naira. • *Bode-George and Dabo -100billion naira • Jolly Nyame-2.4billion naira. • Joshua Dariye-700million naira. • *Nyesom Wike stole #4billion. • Diezzani with $20 billion missing oil money? • Tompolo was paid 13Billion. • Ex-CDS,Alex Badeh dug a pit toilet to hide $32million. • Tompolo was paid N13B for Maritime university land by NIMASA DG. With all this recorded looting and recoveries, some people are still shouting no sign of change yet; they even say its political persecution. How did they expect the change to look? PDP left behind only what they can't carry or unable to lay their hands on and then the recession surfaced. The recession didn't just happen, PDP looted Nigeria into RECESSION . As it has always been, in all humility, I stand to be corrected with palpable evidence or superior argument... May Nigeria Succeed! |
“The new FX Window introduced by the CBN in April 2017 now sees an average of $1 billion in weekly turnover, and has attracted about 45 billion dollars in inflows in its first year, signalling rising investor confidence in Nigeria Nigeria’s Stock Market ended 2017 as one of the best-performing in the world, with returns of about 40 percent,” it said. five million new taxpayers were added to the tax base since 2016, as part of efforts to diversify government revenue. tax revenue increased to N1.17 trillion in the first quarter 2018, a 51 per cent increase on the first quarter 2017 figure N 12.7 trillion was spent on infrastructure in the 2016 and 2017 budgets, “an unprecedented allocation in Nigeria’s recent history.” the revitalisation of 14 moribund blending plants under the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative, and the tripling of revenue to the Federation Account from solid minerals. the revenue tripled from N700 million in 2015 to N2 billion in 2016, and again rose to N3.5 billion in 2017. its Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), which was launched by Mr Buhari in April 2017, has stabilised the macroeconomic environment; achieved agricultural and food security and has also ensured energy efficiency especially in power and petroleum products. the ERGP has improved transportation infrastructure and industrialisation primarily through the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) In the area of debt management, the document reveals that government adopted a strategy that seeks to achieve its goal by replacing Treasury Bills borrowing with lower-cost, longer-term external financing (via Eurobonds and Concessional Loans from China) “The Buhari Administration inherited N12.1 trillion in debt, with N5.4 trillion annual servicing cost, and had reduced the debt service on this inherited debt to N3.9 trillion by 2016,” Under the Bond Issuance programme, the government said $7.3 billion was issued in Eurobond in 2017/18, to fund the 2017 Budget as well as to refinance maturing treasury bills and lower the cost of borrowing for the government. “This debt refinancing strategy is paying off as treasury bill rates have dropped from 16-18% to 10-12% over the last year. Other economic related achievements include the Anchor Borrowers Scheme of the Central Bank of Nigeria which, it said, has substantially raised local production of rice in 2016. “Over N300 billion investments in the rice value chain. Between 2016 and 2018, eight new rice mills have come on-stream; and Nigeria’s paddy production and productivity has doubled compared to 2014 levels The administration said it has launched a series of funding and capacity development initiatives designed to support small and medium businesses (MSMEs) across the country.

1. 12 Train stations The Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri has a total of 12 modern stations with two located between Itakpe and Ajaokuta, while are located between Ajaokuta and Warri, Delta state. They station include Itakpe station, Eganiy Station and Adobe Station, all located within Itakpe, and Ajaokuta Station. Others are; Itogbo, Age Ebode, Uromu, Egehen, Igbanke, Agbor, Abraka, Okpara and Ujewu Stations. Agbor station has been completed while construction work is ongoing at the others. 2. Project costs $200 million Addressing journalists at the Agbor station, the Minister said the government was funding the revival of the project at a cost of about $200 million. Maintenance of the tracks, construction of train stations, importation of train coaches etc all covered. Chinese firm, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) is handling the project. 3. Commissioning in September 2018 Amaechi says the project would be commissioned for commercial activities in September 2018. “While we cannot be sure when this line would be commissioned by Mr President, as a result of the fact that the stations are not yet in place, we are happy that the line has been stabilised and we could commence activity on it by September after more test runs would have been carried out on it”, he said. Amaechi sais the project was eighty percent complete. The minister, however, dismissed insinuations in some quarters that the commissioning of the project was for political reasons. “You see, when the government does not do this, Nigerians will say it has failed but now that the job is almost done and we’re talking about commissioning, some people are saying it’s because of 2019,” he said. “Imagine the lives that would have been saved from road accident, imagine the time and money saved and so on. “We must stop seeing everything through the lens of politics. Else, we will not appreciate the importance of these projects,” the minister advised. 4. More employment opportunities “Right now, there are Nigerians working to revive this project. More Nigerians would be employed to maintain the trains, the crew members and so on,” the minister said. He explained that the project would further open up the areas to commercial activities which were not possible due to the cost of moving goods from one place to the other by other means of transportation. 5. Less pressure on roads When fully in operation, the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri rail line would reduce the pressure on roads as it would provide for a cheaper means of transportation. Rail is relatively safer as well. It’s far more comfortable than regular buses on the roads. It took approximately ten hours from Itakpe to Warri on the train including stops by the Minister to inspect the level of work at the stations. The Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri rail line currently has seven coaches (VIP and regular) which can carry over five hundred Nigerians per trip. The minister assured that modalities are already in place for the maintenance of the rail line and trains. Amaechi noted that like the Kaduna-Abuja rail line, the fares would be affordable for the ordinary Nigerian. The minister disclosed that plans are in place to connect the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri rail line to Abuja for more commercial activities
