My parents got their back with 72hours. Submitted Tuesday, got notification next day, received their passports via DHL on Friday.

I put a call through to their call center.

I was informed that we no longer need an appointment to submit passports.

I went there earlier this week and just walked in. I was done in about 10 minutes.

Simple and easy.

Everyone should take note of this.

The new portal is easier and less papers to be filled. I would suggest you go through the new portal. Less likely to make mistakes.

Honestly, i queried it, because i wonder why they had to pay that much. They have their biometric valid till 2028, so they didnt need biometrics, but the processing fee was 38500 per person and to DHL back to them was 36000 per person which was exorbitant.
They also changed them 1200 each to photocopy 2 pages of biodata
Also to be certain they paid to the right people is the VFS office now on the ground floor? They said it has so many cubicles.
Just to be certain they went to the right place.
That was why I asked the questions yesterday to get help, but no response.

Thank you for your feedback, they submitted this morning. They paid a total of 149,000
38500 per person for transfer to the visa stamping location and 36000 per person to DHL back to them.

I dont knw what u mean by processing fee of 38,500. As long as am concerned, if they did their biometrics in lagos, they need not pay any money except they want to make use of the delivery service. They had to pay a one way return service, though i dont knw how much it is now.

The culture of expecting people to do things for you is the reason a lot of people gets scammed.
Thank God, we have a platform like nairaland were alot of people have successfully done it themselves and excelled. You can ask questions about your application if you are confused along the line. But i would always advocate that you do it yourself and dont become someone's cashapp!

I hope you’re well. I’m seeking some guidance regarding the visa process. A family member has an appointment for dropbox submission through the USTravelDocs platform, but I recently found out there’s also an OIS platform for dropbox submissions.

Do you know how long it usually takes to receive a response for dropbox applications submitted via OIS? Alternatively, would it be better to attend an interview instead? When my mom went to Walter Carrington for dropbox, she ended up being interviewed, which was beneficial as her visa was issued within two days and ready for pickup at the OIS location.

From what I’ve read, it seems many applicants haven’t yet received responses to their dropbox applications through OIS, so I’m a bit uncertain. I need my family’s support in the U.S. at this time, so I’m trying to determine the best route.

Its been 2 week since my visa was issused, i dont have any email and i when i check the OIS document deliery it says it is not yet ready.

I checked https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx and it says "ISSUED". Case Last Updated: 30-Sep-2024

I initially choose Port Harcourt for delivery but I went there and they are not yet ready for pickup. i have updated my AVITS document delivery to Lagos since i am planning a trip next week.

i have also created an AVITS ticket. I am thinking about sending an email to the Abuja Embassy where i had my interview.

Is anyone else in the same boat? Any tips?

Hello @temiteetope, did you recently do dropbox? Did you use the OIS service? I just need clarificationon on what to take along, and if I just have to book on the OIS platform or apply?
They were scheduled for dropbox on Monday based on the old platform ustraveldocs page. Your support will be appreciated.

1. IW letter,
2. payment confirmation,
3. passport,
4. DS-160 confirmation,
5.one passport photograph and
6. the OIS letter

Also while booking for dropbox, I selected free dropbox, is that right?

I dont know if it is pure or not, but her last dropbox was at walter Carrington not DHL as informed by her. Also, she might be mistaken. Anyway, since you have done your drop box, can you be of help. For dropbox, aside the IW letter,
payment confirmation, passport,DS-160 confirmation, one passport photograph and the OIS letter what is required? Thanks.

this ur story no pure...nobody does drop offs for IW at the embassy...even before the change. all drops off b4 was at dhl....and presently OIS office

Not all locations have an OIS office, like benin or portharcourt, they direct people to dhl office for drop off...i have one scheduled for this week, wil see how it goes then

so went to a dhl location for drop off, but was directed to go to an OIS location by the dhl staff...it appears OIS nad dhl are yet to work out kinks btw themselves for a seamless handshake.....wudnt cost OIS anything to pay dhl a small fee to handle the ops for them...as they have been handling it b4....

really sucks to hv to board a flight for IW Dropoff and i guess pick up as well, a total of 4flights in all!!!....sounds so 1990s

Hello Everyone, I want to know if there is still Drop Box. My mom was there today at VI location to drop box, but she said no one was allowed to drop their documents, but instead go through interview again. Just want to know if this is new process? Thanks.
