Pls, how do I give my broker a instruction in order for me to get a specified amount of shares at a certain price. Is there any special lingo? or do I just say: Buy XX Units of Company Y @ 200naira. Of course, I should ask my broker but I want a neutral opinion and I don't want to get cheated.
If your broker does not have an online platform where you can log in with your account, choose your trade and set the max/min price you want them to buy the shares for you, the best thing is to send them a mail and instruct them to do it.

This is how you could instruct your broker to get a specified amount of shares at a certain price:
1) Send them the e-mail stating the particular stock whose shares you want to buy as well as the number of units you want.
2) Include in the e-mail that you are setting a Price Limit of Nxx:xxK (i.e. x Naira, x Kobo) per unit. You are simply telling them they should not buy above the amount you stated per unit of the shares.

You may decide not to set a limit and tell them to buy at the most favourable price to you; that is if you trust your broker. Some brokers are hardened. They could use your money to trade several times during the day and buy your shares towards the end of the day at a higher price and deliver to you with money in their account. If you don't tell them the maximum amount you are willing to pay for each unit of the shares, it's like giving them a blanket check. on the other hand, if you give them a limit and they don't get enough sellers at your range, they may return your money with no transaction and the share price might close upwards from what you want. So you can see that there are advantages and didadvantages.

My Recommendation: Always set a price limit (but let it be reasonable).

Thanks Immanuello for the advice. Is there any online sites that one can use to monitor new time lows for equities?
I suggest you learn how to identify the lows for equities yourself. Normally, you'll get this over time. Also, remember to understand the reason why some lows and highs happen such as the fall-out of the financial crisis starting 2008. Some of those lows caused by events like that may not happen again for a while especially in stable economies.

I know one author's work with 15 years experiences compiled here: http://tradot.com/digital/?trade-shares-safely

It might help.

Cheers!

@nne4, please help.

How were you finally able to add the generated VoguePay button code to you blog and have it work?

My problem is stated here: https://www.nairaland.com/2114684/how-add-voguepay-buy-now

If you can help, I'll appreciate it.

@databoy247, you seem to have used them VoguePay before. I have an account with them but I tried to incorporate a 'Buy Now' button on my Google blog. The code was generated on my VoguePay account but when I copied it to my blog and published it, the button won't show; instead, the code was displayed like that online.

Please what do I need to modify in the code VoguePay generated in order for it to work on my blog?

Awaiting your kind reply.
BusinessHelp! How Do I Add Voguepay 'buy Now' Button To Google Blog? by TopDown(op): 5:17pm On Jan 26, 2015
Dear Nairalanders,

Your kind assistance is needed. I have a VoguePay account and I have followed their procedure to generate the codes to add a 'Buy Now' button to my blog. The code was generated ok and tested on their platform. But when I copy the same code to the 'Compose' section of my blog, I noticed that when I publish/launch it, the code is displayed online like that. No 'Buy Now' button comes up.

I know some Google bloggers have used VoguePay's 'Buy Now' button on their blogs. If you are out there please show me what to change on the code to make it display the buttons as generated.

Please note that I have also tried to use their HTML option but the same problem crops up. I have e-mailed all details and screenshots to them last week and still, they have not been able to provide a solution. They keep telling me it has been forwarded to their technical team.

If you have or know someone who has incorporated VoguePay's 'Buy Now' button on their blogs, kindly let me know how it was done.

Thanks.

Awaiting your support.

This is an informative forum; it is not for debates and unfounded comments. Please post useful comments and advice on different products people can become distributors of affordably as well as general guide/advice on how to succeed as a distributor in Nigeria and beyond.
