I still maintain my opinion that in the entire country (Nigeria), NO HOTEL ROOM OR LODGE WORTH MORE THAN 500K A NIGHT.
No single one. When you travel out of this country, you'll see 3-4 stars hotels that's exactly the standard of what the call 5-star in Nigeria, and it'll not cost up to 50% of what you pay in Nigeria.

You're talking utter rubbish.

And before you argue, I was born in Europe and lived there longer than you, and also lived in the US for years.

They have more than their fair share of overhyped, shabby hotels they charge an arm and a leg for.

And when you read the comments on TripAdvisor or Booking.com regarding some of them, you would never visit them, whatever the number of 'stars' they have.

The pipeline runs along the West African coast, not deep into the Sahel.

It passes through about 13 coastal countries like Ghana, Senegal, and Mauritania. In fact, the route was specifically chosen to avoid the unstable Sahel interior (Mali, Burkina Faso, much of Niger). This is a huge difference from the Trans-Saharan pipeline, which goes through Niger and Algeria and faces serious terrorism risks.
