The fire outbreak began when a spark from an electric pole ignited a two day old oil spill. The fire is spreading fast due to the harmattan winds as people are running to safety.

A bomb exploded at a market in Yola, Adamawa state, yesterday evening in yet another terror attack in Nigeria’s restive North Eastern region.
The explosion reportedly occurred at a vegetable market at the lorry park along Jimeta bypass.
The number of casualties remains unknown and no group has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack.
Nevertheless the attack is thought to have been carried out by Boko Haram.

The Senate, has directed the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, to extend the validity of its results to a period of at least three years.
JAMB was also ordered to immediately stop its policy of re-assigning candidates to schools they didn’t apply to, saying such policy was contrary to the act establishing the board.
